I really just don't understand how you don't have millions of subscribers. Your videos are so much more informative than some of the biggest beauty personalities. You seem to actually want to teach others how to apply makeup in a way that is attainable for most viewers. I just love you 💕 keep being perfect 😘
I think it helps that she joined YT later in the game, she has experience but she's also so fresh. The other YTers kinda moved on from that phase over the years and are more about the beauty guru lifestyle these days. Anyway, I'm addicted to Melissa's videos! So professional, in depth and useful!
I was going to comment the same thing!! Basically on every video lol. Melissa has "the glo down" to a science! Ok, ok... I will see myself out with my so-called joke 😂
ugh I love that highlight! I feel like it's a dupe for MAC's soft n gentle! Gives you such a wet skin look instead of a really intense "you can see me from space" look hahaha
by far my favorite video as of now on makeup. the comparison between high end and drugstore was great. Definitely got some questions answered with this video. thank you!
Thank you so much for this video and the drugstore makeup week! I just went to the store to get the Maybelline "THE GLO DOWN" as a highlighter and loved it! The matte liquid eyeliner that I currently love is the Wet n Wild Megaliner, the applicator is very thin and easy to do winged and any other style. Love from Texas!
You are quickly becoming my favorite beauty TH-camr. I have the same double crease thing going on with my eye lids so I love watching your technique and take your product recommendations to heart.
A very thorough review. You mentioned quite a few products that have generally been overlooked, like the L'Oreal silkissme eyeliner pencils and the No7 loose powder, for example. Some drugstore products I love include: the No7 Lift and Luminate Foundation, NYC Brighton Beach Peach lip gloss, NYX Boho Chic cream blush, Physician's Formula Canyon Classic eyeshadow quartet with a perfect transition, crease and brow bone colour and a grey shadow I use for a soft, dreamy eyeliner or on my brows (I have silver/white hair). Other products include: Maybelline Lash Discovery mascara - I use it for my second layer because it separates eyelashes magically, Essence waterproof gel eye pencil in Gunmetal, NYC Cityproof 24 hour waterproof eyeliner pencil in Teal, NYX eyebrow pencil in Charcoal, Essence Make Me Brow in Browny Brows, Milani Color Statement lip liner in Haute Pink and Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 05.
If anyone is acne prone and looking for a great affordable primer- I was using a Urban Decay primer that was $34 and switched to ELF primer for acne prone skin (green container) and it is BOMB. I haven't broken out and my makeup actually lasts longer with this $6 primer! I'm shocked! I love it.
Not sure if someone asked this yet, but what shade are you wearing as an eyeshadow? It's like the perfect "natural" shade that I've been trying to look for! The ones I keep finding are either too dark and too brown which is too much for an "everyday" look. I love this series so much. Melissa out here helping students everywhere
Hi Melissa can you please do series on wedding makeup for Bride and bridesmaid (drugstore & high-end makeup) since wedding season is upon us 👰. ❤️❤️❤️ your videos!
Once again Melissa, you nailed it! I enjoyed every video from last week! I have a few drugstore products I really like and they are NYX tres jolie eyeliner in brown, Maybelline lipsticks in GONE GREIGE and MAUVE IT, then finally Rimmel STAY MATTE pressed powder in natural. It is so fun to find drugstore products that work. Thanks for your commitment to your subscribers.
Elf brushes and elf eye brow pencils are great drugstore finds. Also the Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara is a winner! The fibers in it it really help lengthen the lashes.
This video made me a subscriber. SO thorough and informative and the comparisons to high end were super helpful for me! Thank you so much for making this!
I've been wanting to try out a new foundation and this video was so helpful! Thank you for being super informative and putting so much effort into your videos! Much love xx
I swear by Real Techniques, especially their face brushes! (The Expert Face and Stippling ones.) I'm betting their eyeshadow brushes are great too - I'm just gearing up to buying more brushes.
Thank you so much for this video!! My husband is on deployment and I finally get to see him in a few days, I haven't seen him in over 4 months and we'll be vacationing in Rome defiantly going to go pick me up some more drugstore makeup before my trip. 💖 thank you!
+Angie R thank you so much that means a lot to me! It's really tough my daughter and I couldn't join him over seas which bummed me out because we've never been apart from each other for that long I'm just thankful I'll be seeing him in a few days. God bless you! ❤️
Awe it's going to feel like your wedding day all over again! My husband was deployed last year and was gone for 14 months! He missed our daughters first year of her life. But he does it for us to enjoy our freedom!
+Amanda White thank you and your husband for your service 💓 my daughter won't be seeing him until October which is a little devastating she's a year and 6 months she'll be 2 when he comes to visit. He missed her first steps, her first words and I know as little as she is she knows that her dads gone I show her pictures of him everyday and all she does is smile real big she face times him about everyday so it makes it a little easier for us.. I know it's not forever and I actually enjoy taking my daughter to see her grandparents all the time since we're staying in our home town 🙂
For great black winged liner I'm in love with NYX epic ink liner in black. It is so opaque, comes in a dense brush tip- very comparable to KVD- except I think the NYX one is even more black. It's also waterproof, so it lasts all day. I've tried tons of liquid liner, this is hands down my favorite!
You are absolutely stunning! I have been watching TH-cam makeup videos for years now and have seen so many wonderful people grow doing what they love. I have been wanting to do Videos like this for a long time, especially since I'm a licensed Esthetician, and had never been able to build up the courage to just sit down and do it. I have also been following your Instagram page but never watched your videos until this past week. I saw one of your videos, I believe it was a more recent get ready with me or a vlog, I can't remember exactly, but that video just really inspired me. Inspired me so much that I finally sat down and filmed a makeup up tutorial, haven't actually uploaded yet lol, but for the first time I just did it. So just wanted to say thank you and to continue doing what you're doing. You're beautiful and I can't wait to continue to be one of the many viewers to watch you grow and flourish.
Your hair looks so good!! Can we get a natural hair tutorial? I have similar textured hair but I feel like my waves/curls get pretty crunchy and feral after I sleep on them. Help me!! Your hair looks so bomb, teach me your ways!
I really love the Milani foundation, it can get oily if u dont powder and set it, BUT the coverage is amazing and the finish is natural, also LOVE the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer, its pretty good!
You look so pretty!! I like your hair natural like this. Great video, thanks for the affordable dups for more expensive brands. Have you tried the NYX micro brow pencil? I heard it's a dup for the Anastasia brow wiz.
Dream Cushion is such a gorgeous foundation. I love it so much. NYX's Epic Ink liquid liner is pretty amazing. EcoTools also makes great drugstore brushes and they have a really nice makeup sponge set.
I have never used makeup and have been a little curious and your video totally helped me thanks ! Also totally enjoyed your natural wavy hair tutorial 😊
I definitely swear by the Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealing Pen. I have dark, brown-grey under eye circles and they pink shade is my go to for color correcting and brightening. On top of that I'll use the age rewind concealer in neutralizer also by Maybelline.. my favorite Khol liners is from a Wet n Wild. They are super creamy and yet set enough to avoid smudging throughout the day! Melissa, I would highly recommend to try the Rimmel 16-hour wear provocalips. They actually don't budge but are comfortable on the lips. I loved this series and this video was a great way to round out Drugstore week. Thank you!
I agree with the layering one.I do have dry skin but now that I've started with some high end products,I believe using only drugstore products was the biggest reason I was cake town every day.
Really like this video thanks for the L'Oréal foundation tip I've been wanting to try out the pro Matt one but I have normal/dry skin so good to know to mix it with the pro glow!
The Wet n Wild Waterproof Liquid Liner is my holy grail liquids eyeliner. I've got hooded eyes and only wear it with falsies but it stays out and doesn't crust off when I apply more shadow after if needed
Elf aqua bronzer and blush in pink beige is amazing! Milani strobelight Highlighters (the round packaging not the square!). The Jesses girl waterproof liquid eyeliner. Essence silky touch blush.
Believe it or not I've been checking out the ELF acne control foundation and OMG! Not only makes my face look amazing it's literally clearing up my breakout I had ! For only $6.00 I am shocked and pleased!
The No7 powder is awesome. It set my makeup beautifully but there's something about it that made me break out like crazy around my eye are. As soon as I removed it from my routine all the bumps disappeared. Sucks that I can't use it 😞
Thanks a lot! I'm saving this video for my next hunting! Always hear you say have "olive" skin tone. I have no idea how to identify mine. Might be a good idea to have a tut on how to identify your own skin tone. Thanks!
Have you tried Wet & Wild Photofocus eye concealer. I haven't but saw videos of it being a dupe for Tarte tape. Great wrap up video. Mother's Day make up with your mom would be great.
I loved your drugstore week! I feel more confident in picking up products that I normally wouldn't go for bc i thought they wouldn't work as well for the price.
Check out the Maybelline Better Skin foundation! Also, that maybelline glo down recommendation has forever changed my life thank you so much! I want to check out the nude one! Also, many people have said it before, but check out the wet n wild highlighters, all of them!
I love the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter & the Wet n Wild Reserve Your Cabana for really soft, buildable highlighters that aren't glittery (and they're both under $5!). I'm also extremely loyal to the CoverGirl Super Sizer Waterproof Mascara, and the Jesse's Girl Liquid Eyeliner is a great drugstore alternative to the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner!
wet 'n wild eyeshadows (except for the singles that look like they're just glitter) are amazing. the collections and trios are super pigmented and great for the price, not to mention they're grouped to compliment each other. also, for liquid eyeliner, check out the black liquid eyeliner pen by jessie's girl if you have a rite aid near you!
Almay has easy to use liquid liners in several colors. They come in a well form, not a pen form. They have some play time before they dry completely so you don't have to worry about flaking up a line you've already drawn if you have to go back and even it up with your other eye. And Almay's one coat thickening mascara is good too. I wear glasses and it gives the look of more lashes without making them too long so I can still wear my glasses comfortably. And Prestige's My Blackest Lashes is hands down the darkest blackest mascara ever. It give tons of volume but it's doesn't come in a waterproof version. That's all I got.
the best eye shadow primer is hands down the one by FLOWER, it is seriously great on my oily eyelids. I have hooded eyes and this drug store primer is the only eye shadow primer I have found that locks eye shadow in place... it now had taken the place of any high end eyeshadow primers. so definitely check it out! it needs hype!
I really just don't understand how you don't have millions of subscribers. Your videos are so much more informative than some of the biggest beauty personalities. You seem to actually want to teach others how to apply makeup in a way that is attainable for most viewers. I just love you 💕 keep being perfect 😘
Also kind of don't want people to discover you because I'm selfish and want you all to myself lol
Kelly Cecil agreed l! I love her and she isn't fake like a lot of the bigger yourubers on here
I think it helps that she joined YT later in the game, she has experience but she's also so fresh. The other YTers kinda moved on from that phase over the years and are more about the beauty guru lifestyle these days.
Anyway, I'm addicted to Melissa's videos! So professional, in depth and useful!
i have learned more about makeup and feel more confident to go buy any since ive watched her videos. i dont feel like i am just buying out of random
Kelly Cecil she didn't sell her soul
This makeup look is gorgeous on you!!! Tutorial on it pretty please!!!
Kelly Dunn yes ✋🏻❤️
I was going to comment the same thing!! Basically on every video lol. Melissa has "the glo down" to a science! Ok, ok... I will see myself out with my so-called joke 😂
Her face looks greasy not glowy
Azalea Coqui , i honestly keep staring at it. i thought it is just me. i think shes using filter on her camera because she looks oily and flawless.
Azalea Coqui and she did mentioned almost at the end of the video that she wants to wrap it up because shes getting oily.
Natural hair look is bomb.
I agree, first thing i noticed.
100000% agree
Zoha Ghani yes she look amazing 😍
Zoha Ghani Yes! I have hair envy.
Zoha Ghani I gree too! Kiss es from brazil
The milani make it last setting spray is a really awesome drugstore setting spray too!
Zoey vh1985
Milani eye shadow primer works great also!
Oh my god , your makeup base looks so good in this video !!
omg you've hit pan on the glo down! lol. if that's not an indication of a product being bomb I dont what is.
I loved drugstore week!! I cant really afford the more expensive makeup so thank you for showing us the good more affordable makeup. 😊
You should try the Wet n' Wild highlighters. They're highly pigmented and a lot of other TH-cam makeup gurus recommend it as well.✨
ugh I love that highlight! I feel like it's a dupe for MAC's soft n gentle! Gives you such a wet skin look instead of a really intense "you can see me from space" look hahaha
Janina Daulo which one is a soft and gentle dupe??
lauren bell I use the one called "Precious Petals" its slightly more pink than soft n gentle but gives a similar wet look
Janina Daulo thank you! 💖
precious petal look champagney gold on me!!
a lot of people love the pro matte and pro glo together, loreal should really be taking notes and make one
by far my favorite video as of now on makeup. the comparison between high end and drugstore was great.
Wow!! You are stunning in this video! Love your hair & makeup😍
Loved loved loved this week's videos and you! I'd love to see this with all cruelty-free products!
I LOVED HOW YOU SHOWED PRODUCTS FOR ALL SKIN TYPES!!!! omg no one has like ever done that!!!
You are quickly becoming my favorite beauty TH-camr. I have the same double crease thing going on with my eye lids so I love watching your technique and take your product recommendations to heart.
Great video! You covered quite a number of topics in a thorough, yet concise and to the point fashion. Very enjoyable to watch!
You're makeup is so good! 😭❤️ Btw I like the different setting/background !

We all need to know it is so springy ! 😍
Def try out the Wet N' Wild Photofocus foundation, I actually really liked it.
A very thorough review. You mentioned quite a few products that have generally been overlooked, like the L'Oreal silkissme eyeliner pencils and the No7 loose powder, for example. Loooved this! The drugstore tutorials week was amazing and this summary/review was truly thought-out.
I really love how you do a lot of drugstore tutorials. Thank you Melissa! Please do more of this 💕
If anyone is acne prone and looking for a great affordable primer- I was using a Urban Decay primer that was $34 and switched to ELF primer for acne prone skin (green container) and it is BOMB. I haven't broken out and my makeup actually lasts longer with this $6 primer! I'm shocked! I love it.
Thanks, I'll have to check it out!
I have that one too! ELF antiblemish primer, it's SO good! I love it ♥
Not sure if someone asked this yet, but what shade are you wearing as an eyeshadow? It's like the perfect "natural" shade that I've been trying to look for! The ones I keep finding are either too dark and too brown which is too much for an "everyday" look.
I love this series so much. Melissa out here helping students everywhere
I can definitely recommend the Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation and NYX Banana Powder for setting the concealer - it does wonders!
Hi Melissa can you please do series on wedding makeup for Bride and bridesmaid (drugstore & high-end makeup) since wedding season is upon us 👰. ❤️❤️❤️ your videos!
nyx proof it eyebrow primer is a holy grail for me. also nyx black liquid liner & la girl glide gel liner is great for tight lining
Once again Melissa, you nailed it! I enjoyed every video from last week! Hi Melissa can you make a video about best cheap brushes?
You are so beautiful
elf brushes are amazing, you should give them a try💖 same the wet and wild ones!
Giulia Bianchini I totally agree with the other comment, elf brushes are amazing, I never bother with high end ones anymore😍
I swear by Real Techniques, especially their face brushes! (The Expert Face and Stippling ones.) I'm betting their eyeshadow brushes are great too - I'm just gearing up to buying more brushes.

The No7 powder is awesome. It set my makeup beautifully but there's something about it that made me break out like crazy around my eye are. As soon as I removed it from my routine all the bumps disappeared. Sucks that I can't use it 😞
I wish my hair looked like yours! So excited to find some good products from the drugstore!
The NYX dark circle corrector is INCREDIBLE!
Thanks a lot! I'm saving this video for my next hunting!
Always hear you say have "olive" skin tone. I have no idea how to identify mine. Might be a good idea to have a tut on how to identify your own skin tone. Thanks!
Jeanine Osorio chances are you could be olive toned. if cool warm or neutral products don't look well on you!
Jeanine Osorio
Have you tried Wet & Wild Photofocus eye concealer. I haven't but saw videos of it being a dupe for Tarte tape. Great wrap up video.
Mother's Day make up with your mom would be great.
you should try the Milani make it last setting spray .. I've heard that is really good

The Loreal true match concealer is an awesome drug store concealer. One of my faves!
The nyx brow pencil is awesome to! I just bought it a couple weeks back and I love it! maybe a suggestion to try if you haven't already?
it was a really complete video, full of well known products , thanks
I loved your drugstore week! I feel more confident in picking up products that I normally wouldn't go for bc i thought they wouldn't work as well for the price.
Can you do a high end very soon of this cause it'd be amazing !!!
Perfect!!!! I probably would have added the nyx Angel primer and milani setting spray.
Your hair rocks 🎸
You were actually my inspiration to my last hair cut. Love you, Mel. Lots of hugs from México 🇲🇽

I'm also extremely loyal to the CoverGirl Super Sizer Waterproof Mascara, and the Jesse's Girl Liquid Eyeliner is a great drugstore alternative to the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner!
Thank you sooo much for this video! Really appreciate your work ❤️
wet 'n wild eyeshadows (except for the singles that look like they're just glitter) are amazing. the collections and trios are super pigmented and great for the price, not to mention they're grouped to compliment each other. also, for liquid eyeliner, check out the black liquid eyeliner pen by jessie's girl if you have a rite aid near you!
