Anyone else feel a weird sensation watching this? It feels welcoming. Like your walking down the street in roku city, and the soft sun is setting. And the colors are very calming. I could watch this for hours.

Can someone tell me,...What do they call this style of Art Work ?? With the color combinations and the way the colors are used, I've been seeing more and more of this,..it's beautiful.
It's called minimalist vector art.

The style does look like vector art, but not so much minimalist. The style reminds me of art deco. You ever see PBS' Hercule Poirot series? There's an intro to it with music and artwork, interwoven with Poirot's image. That artwork is art deco style. Colorful, cartoonlike but sophisticated, bold colors, etc.

I suddenly remembered that there was a screen saver for Roku box, thought of a camera strolling through a city, I just got hit by a flock of nostalgia with this.
I think the design from Daniel Larusso's headband from the Karate Kid is in the middle of the three "abstract" billboards.
The order of the buildings is constantly changing. Nice touch.
These have been so much fun for my family to identify the films and characters. We enjoy these more than some of the shows ha ha. Wish there were more of them.

Those foreground buildings never repeat a sequence, either. I looked at it for frickin' ages, noting down the buildings. Never repeated. That's a hell of an algorithm.
That's one of my favorite features. The art deco theater is my favorite building and I watched for quite a while and never saw it. That's how I noticed that they changed order.

This Screensaver reminds me of San Francisco and Oakland. The Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz are in this, and the buildings directly in front of us look old, like in Oakland.

Hello All. I just installed ROKU and love this movie screensaver! Does anyone else think that the flying image over the Hollywood sign is ET instead of Mary Poppins?

I took a screenshot and zoomed in on it. It's definitely Mary Poppins holding her umbrella in one hand her suitcase in the other. If it were ET he would be in the front of Elliot's bike and they would probably be flying in front of the Moon. That's the iconic image. It's also the trademark for Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment so that's probably why they didn't use it!
I never wanted the old screen saver to be changed BUT I love this one too!!! Glad it’s the same color scheme - I can keep it on all night. I can’t figure out the giant robot though. Iron Giant? Or a really loose interpretation of Pacific Rim?

I’ve seen a number of these videos. I don’t think anyone really talks much about the diner. To me, the diner, with the stuff behind it reminds me of the scene in ‘The Blob’, at the end, when the blob covers the diner.

I don't know what films the giant robot, the giant monster(unless it's supposed to be Godzilla), the Aurora Borealis, and the ferris wheel are from. The last two may just be for added effects and not from films, though. Not sure I caught everything.
