Didn't think of it that way, that America seems to be rebelling against the first black President, rebelling against political correctness, rebelling against taking it's medicine, rebelling against having to go to school, rebelling against playing nice with others/not bullying, essentially rebelling it's own best interests like healthcare when you need it no matter what, education that isn't deficient in critical thinking skills, paying taxes sufficient to provide the services needed for America. America seems to be in a state of arrested development.
I don't know about wasted on SNL, but SNL is many sketches of being someone else, generic or character, and she definitely brings a uniqueness that is all her own (plus the stuff w/Jennie). Things work out.

Jaboukie Young-White is an occasional correspondent on The Daily Show--I really like him! He represents the young end of the Millennial curve and has a very hip, deadpan delivery. And i did some stand-up (my first time ever!) as warm-up for a show where Dwayne Perkins was the headliner. I recall him as funny and warm, aside from being a good-looking guy =) It was a benefit show so I'm sure he volunteered AND he drove about 100 miles to do it.
7:30 This is a question that only a non-comedian could possibly ask. "Why are controversial things funny?" Because DISCOMFORT (or at least incongruity) is the source of almost all humour. What makes you laugh at a standard "joke" is the fact that you were expecting something OTHER than the punch line. What makes you laugh at Steve Martin, Jim Carrey or John Belushi is that they are doing things that confuse you and feel "wrong", yet are somehow pulled off by the comedian in a way that seems absolutely natural and "in character". And what makes you laugh at comedians who use profanity is that you arent entirely comfortable with the profanity (Thats one reason why mere "random" swear words arent funny anymore).
omg i was in Amsterdam in 2001 w/my bf at the time... we were there for 10 days and went to see Boom Chicago three times! I also really enjoyed the food, great burger. Anyway, curious now to see when Seth and Amber were there!
Re the election, let’s just get a majority of eligible people to vote as a goal. It is obscene that less than half of our country votes. It ought to be required (or a small penalty if you don’t, a tax). Voting is a privilege and a responsibility. We are responsible for our government.
Not one "Amber says What" bummer. I want to watch the uncut recording of "Jokes the writers know won't be on TV". With that level of talent the X rated version would make me pee my pants. It's fun when you start working off each other. It's like a feeding frenzy. Nothing is sacred.
I hope that this video was edited and there were lots of cuts made, because the guy interviewing them is more interested in his questions then either of their answers. There are points in the interview that feel as if this is a 3rd person interview of Seth Myers. There is a point where the interviewer flat out acknowledges that he is not listening to what they are saying by starting off his next question with, "You know it occurs to me.." but what occurs to him is about Seth and has nothing to do with what Jenny was talking about.... Which honestly I would have enjoyed diving deeper and hearing more about, instead of his question to them about Seth...
So interesting to watch this now after The Amber Ruffin Show is a real thing!! A damn insightful and hilarious real thing!! Watch it on TH-cam and/or Peacock. You're welcome.
