I love it. The scales look awesome. I actually prefer when there isn't a consistent pattern in the blade because it has a natural feel about it. Planned patterns can be awesome, but in the end, when a beautiful pattern with some randomness appears, it becomes a more creative work of art in my opinion. That's why I love your blades and videos.
I liked just the low level twist pattern you had before you drilled in the rain pattern holes. I do like the way the knife turned out. The handle material looks good.
If I've learned anything from you, it's that when the build throws you a curve, you stay in there and turn it around. Easily my favorite forge building channel. Wooo!
Happy winter festival Steve I really like the contrast its very m uuch like fossilised coral, specifically Crinoids in limestone which is a definite plus. Very cool and the amber like handle gives it a very prehistoric feel...yup like that a lot.
I like it! It has a kind of sedimentary flow with nodules look. The handles actually look like feather pattern. Awesome! Ya cant "snap into a slimjim" when ya have a good slice n dice. 😂 Merry Christmas amigo!
I liked it! Cool combination of organic and techno vibes. I like this channel for things like these - neverending experiments, and searching for new forms.
The handle material is good for someone out there, not my personal taste - but it doesn't look tacky or anything. The pattern on the blade was pretty cool, I didn't honestly expect that outcome... it definitely is my personal taste.
I really like the handle and the pattern, I think it came out well. I also hate these videos because it makes me want to do more stuff with canisters, but that's a pain in the butt (actually my arm) since I don't have a press or power hammer.
Beautiful knife! Looked great with the orange and black I think. I have used Dymalux a lot and it's pretty good stuff! At first I got it cuz it was cheap but then it turned out awesome every time so I keep using it from time to time.
Nice. I need to try it. Are bubbles and divots common dymalux? I actually ended up returning the set in this videos because of bubbles and I looked like part of it was flaking away.
@@GreenBeetle I haven't had a set that didn't have some bubbles in it. I always just ground the tang side flat and during shaping and sanding on the finished side it ended up getting them out. It finishes really nice and after a good buff it's waterproof as well. I've even acid etched the entire blade and exposed spine of the tang with the Dymalux in the acid and it didn't touch the finish on the Dymalux.
Kryptek camo scales would have looked awesome with that snakeskin pattern. The knife turned out amazing, and while I don’t dig the handle too much, it looks great
I really don't mind the knife blade overall and its an interesting material construction, lets face it, if it forge welds together then its a good start! The handle material I don't mind too much but I've sort of seen it sold everywhere and at least for me I don't see it working with anything I make, but there's plenty of colours of it and its not very expensive. A couple of handle material makers I'll suggest if you're looking for some pretty wild stuff- J Hue Customs, lots of really clever acrylic and epoxy stuff Fat Carbon Materials- does things with carbon fibre which are pretty great Not affiliated with either of them but the products are good stuff from small scale manufacturers and I think, fairly priced for what they are all things considered.
Hey GB… I operate a PTO plow/trenching machine that has the ability to bore under driveways and pavement with interlocking bore rods. The rods are tool steel. They are about 1” in diameter with a 1/2” hollow core. The machines we use are VERY powerful and sometimes the rods bend beyond repair. But I reiterate, they are indeed tool steel. Not sure the alloy composition, but they are STRONG! They are 10’ long and weigh at lease 25 pounds each. If you’re interested in trying to make a knife from one, I’ll gladly send you a nice chunk of the steel. Let me know.
Some tool steels can be forged some can’t. Their heat treatments can be pretty different too. Sounds like a great project but without knowing the steel there’s be a lot of trial and error, guess-work.
WOOO! I dig that handle material. It gives me 80’s video arcade vibes for some reason.
Greetings from Ireland. It look's fabulous. Those were the scales that first stood out to me.
Thank you very much!
That orange and black looks neat
honestly, I really like this one.
Nice, ty 👍
The orange and black was the coolest looking for sure
That handle is dope. I love it
Great looking knife. Beautiful pattern on the steel, and the scales add to the aesthetic. Incredible job good sir.
Thats the only Christmas present ive got this year. A new video from you. Thank you
Sorry to hear this but maybe it’s better than a lump of coal! Merry Christmas 🎄
That handle absolutely works together with the blade. It's as if the handle merges into the blade or vice versa. Very nice!
Nice! Merry merry to you and yours
Looks good to me. Merry Christmas.
Same to you!
That is a very aestheticly pleasing combination, exquisite craftsmanship and superior materials and it looks good too !!!!!!
The orange black looks cool, the pattern is well mmm interesting. 👍👍👍
I liked the orange and black, personally, and the Damascus pattern looked like a micro photograph of a wood cell structure. Beautiful knife.
Orange and black was a good voice, looks great with the brass pins. Nice looking knife too.
“There was much defecation!” 😂😂 reminded me of that. I feel like Steve would totally get that quote 🤪
I like the pattern.
Handle material is outstanding! Beautiful piece!
that looks sic! Merry Christmas brother!
I like the way it looks great work
turned out really cool. i like it.
Merry Christmas, Stu!
As always, that's a beautiful knife.
Love it. I know you were not happy with the blade, but I think it’s beautiful. Love the handle. Hands down. 10/10. Love it brother.
Thanks 👍
The handle reminds me of one of my favorite television series from my childhood... The Dukes of Hazard. I love how it turned out!
Merry Christmas 🎅
I like it. I think the handle scales you ended up using where the right choice. Beautiful knife
Handle material was great 👍
Love it. Everything you make is awesome
Wow, thank you!
Big fan for quite a few years now. Thanks for the content. Creators like you that make quality videos that are “edu-taining”.
Beautiful work. The knife looks beautiful 👍👍

definitely the right choice on the handle material, looks great :)
Looks like a topographical map, between the pattern of the steel and the handle! Looks cool
Beautiful work, Steve! Amazing looking knife!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Merry Christmas and happy new year!
Ty you too
I think it looks great. A lot of hard work and skill showing through.
Very cool! 🤘
I love the handle material 👍🏻
Thanks for another video GB.
WOOOO!
I liked just the low level twist pattern you had before you drilled in the rain pattern holes. I do like the way the knife turned out. The handle material looks good.
I would call this one a success. Very nice looking handle with the pattern you did get. I like it.
Really cool looking knife, love the reptile skin look!
Looks absolutely incredible. Every detail on it looks fantastic the blade look like Persian style damasc
I think that's a very cool knife. I'm gonna have to look at some of your videos if that's a knife you don't love.
This will get plenty more likes. This is quality.
Scales looks awesome so does the blade
I have to say you got a Stone Cold knife out of this! You put your Hart into it.
💥
Great looking knife Steve
That pattern came out awesome it’s like the best cable pattern ever
Love the handle material. It really pops!
The black and orange reminds me of Eastern box turtle. Good looking knife.
If I've learned anything from you, it's that when the build throws you a curve, you stay in there and turn it around. Easily my favorite forge building channel. Wooo!
Hey thanks man means a lot coming from you.
I use SS square tubing for the canister. Nice to have the cannister just fall off by itself.
Forge On!!!
Happy winter festival Steve

I think it turned out great!
Absolutely stunning work
Thank you! Cheers!
I like it! Cool pattern on the blade, even though it's not what you're lookin for.

Nice to se my first choice for the handle scales proven right, it looks great.
I really like the handle scales!
Good looking blade 👍
I love the knife!
For not loving the steel pattern or the scales you still turned out a truly beautiful knife!
Nicely done 👍
I like the handle material. a lot!
I love the handle. Disclosure, I am a fan of orange. I think that pattern would also go really good with a Feather Damascus.
That skinner is “STYLING AND PROFILING, WOOOO!”
I really like this combination, for some reason it reminds me a camouflage drab from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater called Hornet Stripe
Looks awesome !
I like it, think the choice for handle material was the right one.
I really like the handle material...great knife Steve...very well done video also!
Merry Christmas, Beetle! Always love your videos. Best to you and your family.
The handle material is good for someone out there, not my personal taste - but it doesn't look tacky or anything. The pattern on the blade was pretty cool, I didn't honestly expect that outcome... it definitely is my personal taste.

Loved the blade. If you consider it a failure - it's a gorgeous failure. The handke is also lovely!
Beautiful knife! Looked great with the orange and black I think. I have used Dymalux a lot and it's pretty good stuff! At first I got it cuz it was cheap but then it turned out awesome every time so I keep using it from time to time.

Keep on keeping on! I think you’ll hit it eventually! Lol great looking knife btw!
I like it man, looks good!
I like the raindrop pattern. Personal preference I guess.
Turned out great, for sure reminds me of cable damascus
Looks good dude. You're like the king of weird knives and redirection during a build. This one actually looks more normal than most of your builds 😛
Thank you
I think it looks GREAT! I would buy it if it were for sale.
Hit me up
Looks great to me Steve. I'd carry it.
Looks a lot like cable Damascus but thicker. I like it.
I might not love the orange and black handle material but I think the scales go with the steel nicely.
Beautiful
Beautiful!!!
Thank you!!🙏
Kryptek camo scales would have looked awesome with that snakeskin pattern. The knife turned out amazing, and while I don’t dig the handle too much, it looks great

Ty!
Merry Christmas sir
When scale materials end up being a "boo" instead of "WoOO!"... THAT'S a kick in the wrinkle beans.
💥
I dig it!
STEVE!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
STEVE! 🎄
I like the orange and black, it'd be perfect for a spooky Halloween knife. The knife itself is rad!
Pretty cool
I'm not a fan of Damascus Steel, but overall, nice. Nice grip choice, too.

How about using nickel welding rods for cast iron welding?😊
i think rain drop and ladder would be to busy of a patern IMO. looks great as it is
Any video with this many WWE wrestling mentions needs to be a trilogy.... That goes without saying
🧐😂
nice work as always! merry xmas from germany!
PS: still hoping for a self ni-plated container damast..random pieces self galvaniced!
