As concern grows over the increase of diagnosed copper associated hepatitis in breeds without a genetic predisposition for that condition, I'd love to see you adding copper analysis to your reviews.

Caitlin Clark is likely the biggest name currently in sports. She’s a basketball player for the University of IOWA playing in the Final Four.

I think they can sell it if it’s labeled for “supplemental feeding”

Hi Dr Rae! First of all thank you for doing this. I watch all your videos and am learning so much. I have two dogs and am searching for a new dog food because of what I have learned from you. My one dog is presumed to have food allergies and my vet told me to avoid chicken snd beef. I have her on a salmon based diet but it is All Life Stages and is too high in calcium and phosphorus. I am having an extremely difficult time finding an adult maintenance diet and one where the calcium and phosphorus are in range. It appears to me that “all life stages” is the trend and this is all the vast majority of dog food manufacturers are offering. I should mention that I also avoid anything with peas as I understand peas are a common allergen as well. Is it even possible to find a dog food that meets all my criteria - fish or novel protein, no peas, adult maintenance (not all life stages), and guaranteed analysis all in range including calcium and phosphorus. It seems to me most dog food manufacturers are over the recommended range. Affordability is also a factor. I am willing to pay more for a premium dog food but I cannot afford the super expensive ones as I’m feeding two dogs. I’m hitting a brick wall in my search!

Hands down with a food allergy I just go strait to hydrolyzed, makes life much easier. Check with your vet about what options are available in your area, they are usually prescribed. Prurina HA, Hills z/d, farmina has one, royal canin ailementum. Love that you are learning! This will stimulate a productive conversation with your vet.

Thanks for all your videos first off, I watched a lot of them. I have a question, I know there's no dog food specifically for dogs with seizures. This puppy is 8 months old and has had seizures 3 separate times. At the moment the dog is at the Vet after last nights latest seizure episode. But what dog food would be best for what a dog needs to avoid or I should say help with proper nutrients the dog may be lacking. Not sure how to ask the question properly honestly. This is my daughter's dog and I am trying to help her out. She uses 4Health right now, but I read that Omega 3 is important and I didn't see any Omega 3 in the 4Health dog food. If you can suggest a better dog food I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

To properly answer your question it would depend on what the cause of the seizures is. There are many causes for seizures including structural genetic abnormalities, toxin, metabolic, epilepsy, ect. Without a diagnosis, it would be impossible to make a proper and useful recommendation. Once your vet does the work up and comes up with a diagnosis, they will be able to make the correct recommendation specific to the condition. Sometimes making the diagnosis requires going to a neurologist so do not get discouraged if they recommend a referral. In general, I have not learned that Omega's being a specific aid in seizures (although they are good to have in general). I know that the Purina makes a prescription diet for seizures that is high in antioxidants.
