Please keep making these Eric, these relaxing rapid against beginner opponents are so awesome and it's so cool to see you can do John Bartholomew type videos that are so educational and help people improve their game, in addition to being a super funny dude.

The loud techno outro music is gone so that people can fall asleep easily, massive thumbs up! Good job editor.

I only play 5 minute Pirc or Czech Pirc defense and do very well. I suck at every other opening but managed to go from 1500 to 2100 in like 2 weeks on Lichess with only this opening. I play it with both black and white but I'm stronger with black. I played as black and only black for those 2 weeks to truly learned it. 1600 - 1800's really have a hard time with the Pirc if Im black. I couldn't believe how easily I was destroying them. Still can't believe it and play many games a day. I'm literally a 1400-ish player but since I only play the Pirc or Czech Pirc, I'm at 2100.
The reason I do well at it is most people don't play against it so it's really easy to get out of the opening because I know what moves to play for the first 12 or 13 moves no matter what they move because I know what moves they will play. Your move forces them to make logical moves so you'll know instantly what to do. They haven't prepared for the Pirc or have seen it thousands of time like the other openings so they're winging it while you're not. Black played it wrong in this video. Eric played the Austria attack by pushing the 3 pawns in the center. It's an aggressive attack against the Pirc but it's easy to defend if you know the opening.
The whole basis of the Pirc is to allow them to take the center with both pawns or in this video, 3 pawns, and then you launch a counter attack that blows them off the board. After the 3rd or 4th move, you'll be able to tell if they know how to play against the Pirc (most do not). Once you see that, it's pretty easy to get the advantage. Even 2200's struggle against it if they don't know how to play against it because hardly anyone plays the Pirc.
I learned the Pirc from NM Robert Ramirez on youtube. He has many videos on it if you're interested ( even a whole video on how to play against the Austria attack like Eric played). He's awesome at teaching you the Pirc. Enjoy!

@@DerickMasai 🤙. It's a awesome opening as black. I literally only played it as black for like 2 months, then I started playing it as white which is the exact same moves as black. When people play white in general, they tend to have a sense of being overly confident. That's when playing the Pirc as black humbles them.

When you said "I imagine I'm playing Magnus" I immediately thought Magnus would've found the knight move forking the rook and queen for sure if the pawn takes knight.

Often effective is a battery of queen on d2 and a bishop on h6, forcing trade of bishops if you opponent's rook is still on f8. You remove the fiancettoed bishop which is always good.

This is the drawback of the Pirc, because it’s so passive a grandmaster will use you in a stream to put their viewers to sleep. Such disrespectful and arrogant behaviour. Don’t support these guys.
