This landed in my feed at the most perfect time.. I'm on the edge of thinking how I'm going to live and support myself but all this makes sense and I really needed it. I was going down my own route and how I can live but I should have the FAITH to know that as long as I do God's will in my life He will provide and sustain me. I got delivered from materialism and money worship last year. Which I didn’t know I had, because I did not have much compared to very rich people. And I struggled between truth and lie. And I was upset with God a little bit, because I saw other Christians with a lot of stuff. Then some of my family and church family heavily disagreed with me and my son called me crazy. Very hurtful, but I blurted out, “yeah, we’ll they called Noah crazy”. So my house is being emptied. My son moved out. I keep practical only. My garage will be emptied this spring. This is not my permanent home. Jesus is all I need. Thank you for this message, it confirms what I suspected is true. I just needed a confirmation from another Christian. My Pastor teaches on giving Bikkurim also known as "First Fruits" at the beginning of the year every year. And I can truly say that it has radically changed and completely transformed my life. It really does bring breakthrough. The amount may be different for everyone, I've heard other ministers say, "either give a day's pay, a week's pay, two week's pay or a month's pay." of course meaning give your best offering according to what you're able to do. But for me personally I've always given a thousand dollar at the beginning of each year according to my pastor's teachings and like I said, I always am kept throughout the entire year because of giving first fruits at the beginning of the year. Also Jesus taught 5 times more on money than he did prayer and the only thing he taught more about than that was Love! Giving financially is a kingdom (God's Kingdom) principal it is the real deal, it will bless you! Don't be afraid of giving. I’ve given several times until one day I gave him money and seen him walk out of a liquor store and walk back towards Walmart parking lot. What do you do in this situation?
He might need that drink to keep him alive (rapid detox, can cause seizures and death). I always ask for their name so I can pray for them (right then or later).
I used to say "I don't give money away BUT, I'll pay you for a joke or some word of wisdom" or something like that. You'd be surprised at some of the reactions and stories I'd get. Well worth the $1 and change.
I bought several $10 MCD gc to give with gospel pamphlets, I keep in my purse. If the opportunity is available, ask if u can pray for them right there as well.

Speaking of the devil (yes, pun intended). Even though God is pleased with our obediance of sacrifice giving, it's *who* you would give to that would have either God behind it, or the devil. God would have you give to someone who needs help. The devil would have you give to Someone who would be in more of an enabling situation. Someone who needs help, will no longer need you after a certain time. But someone being enabled will drain you. That's the devil stealing from you. Again, God blesses your obedience either way, but stay discerning as you grow, and give with certain convictions he gives you. If you have a conviction to not give money directly, but instead to ask what its for. And if possible, buy the item being desired and give that instead of money. Then do so. Money is a lot easier to abuse and take advantage of, than the thing it can buy
