    Great interview! But I feel it would be more helpful if you asked him how much he netted. AP written can be very misleading because we don't know how much he spent on leads. I always feel this is a huge problem in the life insurance industry i.e. everyone posts AP or families helped, but very rarely post their net profit after substracting lead spend.

      Anywhere 60K - 95K on lead spend annually.

      Anywhere from 1/4th to 1/3 spent on leads/marketing just like any other successful business.

    A major determinant of success in sales is what the lead journey looks like on the marketing side. Phenomenal marketing reduces the level of persuasion required in sales. Order takers don’t need sales skills because marketing is shouldering the weight. It doesn’t work the other way around, the best sales person in the world is limited to cold calling or random door knocking without marketing. Most sales people without marketing or with very poor marketing (aka lead vendors) don’t make very much at all.
