- The Honda S2000 is THE car that will ruin all other cars for whoever drives one. Rob's 2003 AP1 has a pristine body, a big turbo pushing the wheel HP over 300, and head-turning good looks. It also makes most other cars feel like you're driving a sponge.
Check out another great convertible roadster video here! th-cam.com/video/q8PTlCi_Erw/w-d-xo.html
My suzuka blue 03 is hands down the best purchase of my life. Followed closely by moving to the rocky mountains, but the combination of the two make for the best part of my summers.
modern digital cars where you go like 100 and it feels like 50 ... and wonderful analog cars with well thought chassis where you go like 50 and it feels like 100
Great analogy
all the soundproofing placed on the car make it feel like that. My HC goes fast, but like you said, you feel is going slow. On the s2000 going 60, you feel the speed and have more fun. Just dont try to drag race a fast car, you will find out the feel does not equal being quick :)
lol going 70 on a lowered s2000 feels like 90mph which is weird. I usually drive 80 with my accord but it just feels faster cuz its small and low
Very sad that Honda only made 99-03 AP1's here is the states. I see AP2's everywhere here in Cali and hardly any AP1's. I'm glad I found one a few years back👌
I’ve got the same year, same colors, same lip, same wheels but in grey. This car is the love of my life. . . Don’t tell my wife and kids.
i’ve never seen this tan leather before it’s beautiful
Dude you are spot on with the trunk lid spoiler. it just adds that little bit extra to make the rear really pop. I'm searching for a OEM used one. Clean s2k btw man, that thing is a cherry. Something about GPW just hits right.
All the analytical information in your Honda S2000 video make it very interesting to view. My current red S2000 car is from 2007 with all the handling upgrades but is still a wonderfully challenging car to drive on the public road in England. Well done for producing such a well edited video. P.S. Ignore the 11 "unlikes", they are only jealous! Mark
So clean and straight. Good tasteful improvements. I would never sell that.
I just picked up a 40k mile 2003 Suzuka blue today. Completely stock with the original CD changer.
One of the best purchases of your life 👏
I'm glad he's in love with his 2000. But I'll keep my 97 Spa Yellow NSX 💛 that I've had since 97 currently on KW V3S. It's nice to love your ride but there is always a better one out there.
What a stupid comment! Nicer is completely subjective and your obligation to one up someone who has a cheaper honda must make you feel good. Ridiculous you sad man
Nice! The designer Uehara, made both masterpieces. One more affordable than the other. Both have their pros and cons, let alone others in the class. Love my in-line 5 Audi, but no comparison to the fun of my S2k03! I have driven Vetts, NSX, old muscle, and new. It’s definitely a preference I guess.
It is an amazing little car. There was a ap1 year 2000 at a Honda dealership. I was just going to test drive it for the fun. I drove and handed them a check. It reminds me of a Triumph with double the horsepower. It is a blast at 50 miles an hour, and scary at 70 mph.
I have an AP1 S2000 also. After owning a MK5 GTI, E30 325is and having a similar story I got rid of it because the S2000 was the best car I had ever driven. I’d still like to build another E30 one day. 🤞
Him: Doesn't want to modify car body
Also Him: Modifies the hell out of the motor and suspension
Im in loved with this channel, and im only 2 videos in. Such a unique style, you’ll blow up soon!
Thanks for the kind words! It's 100% the awesome people that share their vehicles. They make it great. Without them there is no Cylinder Scene.
"It requires your attention"
YES
Make sure to replace the ap1 valve spring retainers with the ap2 or equivalent. There known to crack and drop valves. Probably would be a good idea to go to 110 pound springs too cause of the boost.
How much does something like that cost? Ap1 160k miles mostly stock. Just intake and lowered in springs.
Keeping it all stock but has a turbo, lol. Its turbo dude reliability is out the window! All joke aside ap1 ftw
He said stock body bruh...
100% not true. Reliability is all what you make it in the build.
Spoken like somebody who’s never owned anything other then a N/A car or turbo a motor
I mean stock F20/22C motors can reliably handle up to 450 whp on boost, they say the stock internals can handle 600 but thats pushing it
I have a 2013 mx5 2.0 manual thinking about getting a s2000 or a 370Z roadster 🤔
S2K gonna be the next MK4...
@ゴールデンクマ said no one ever. Go back to doing 12 year old things...
Great video! Very well constructed man keep it up!
You have to roll the fenders on the ap1 to get that size wheel on if you don't want to rub.
I know what you mean about ruining all other cars. I drove a 370z after selling my S2000 in 2007, and it was just so soft, disconnected and not much fun. I drove the 370z again 5 years later and then thought it was a fun sports car. The 2000 is just so raw, connected and fun that not much compares if you are an enthusiast. That's why 16 years later I'm thinking of buy another one. I just can't find another car as fun, even for the inflated prices.
Thats a very rare color combo
looks great keep it that way
I can wait to get one
Send me a message when you're ready to let this car go. 😝
What's your lowering springs again?
What is the name of the song in the intro? I feel like I recognize it from somewhere
+1 here. learn my manual driving in this car.
Beautiful ap1
Such a gorgeous car
A must have car right here love this thing like I love my mother truly a amazing car for what it is
BDE....! Best Decision EVER!!
If you have the means… I highly recommend picking one up.
beautiful
Cool, video, beautiful color/interior combination. You obviously did your research...
Did you or the previous owner [your friend] upgrade how the hood stays open [Those 2 things on each side seen @ 5:32]? I have the old school little bar thing on my AP1 that came stock and I have to manually grab and stick into the hood so it stays up.
Thanks for posting the video!
Yes. I’m not sure of the brand that’s on there but greddy and a couple other known brands make them and then there’s some generic options. Search for hood dampers and it’ll put you in the ball park. Nice addition to the car!
@@robjones7223 Thanks a lot for the reply, I'll check it out!
GPW is hands down the best s2k color
Talking facts @ 7:20 👍
SC gonna give you better lower range “umph” which is our cars weak spot. Turbo pulling most of it up top. SC = no turbo lag. But its all subjective and I wouldn’t mind a turbo either.
I have a red 2003 AP-1 with 35,000 miles, bone stock. I think the comment about AP-1s being hard to drive is a little overblown.
what's installed on the roll hoops that covers the hole behind the headrests?
Upgraded Polk speakers all around including behind the headrests to go with the aftermarket stereo.
White is not a stock color, right? Why white?
White is a stock color, just a rare color specially with tan interior..
Very clean.
Great car very fun!
"big turbo pushing the wheel HP over 300" my man, that is a small turbo
I LOVE MINE..................AP1, 2001............. ;)
idk if i wanna turbo or supercharge mine lol
That is the real question. Mine feels sooooooo slow. A little boost with wake it up nicely.
Very nice!
If Ferrari made a 4cyl sports car it would be a Honda S2000.
But it’d be less reliable.
They can be a handfull, but definitely not hard to handle, unless you suck ;'D
Depends on how experienced the driver, mine has caught me by surprise a couple times in early ownership haha
Theme song? Called
Down Time In My Soul by RAGE
I have one.... Bone Stock...
All the ones in my area are VGA💀
That q300 is definitely choking the boost though lol need a single exit
You own this S2K for such of short period and your here talking like your Mr. Yoda. Your statement about keeping the body stock and your dislikes of roll fenders that it brings down the value of the car and yet here your S2000 is turbo.. Like other S2k owners have said…you have to roll the fenders if you want aggressive fitment.
😍
Turbo? Far from stock anymore.
My first car was an Ap2 and now I'm selling it cause grad school costs 66k a year. It's really sad.
Dang
I have one. My dad just hit it on the side with his truck. Really bummed 🙁
@phil alan It's not a tumor.
stock motor can handle 500hp? Lol
700hp stock block easy...900hp stock block record
@@TurboSkx sure. show me if you can drive it hard for a 15-20 minute session on the track instead of cruise on the street and punch throttle occasionally.
internal are forged from factory
Ruin all other cars? I'm guessing he's never driven a Miata
And guessing you haven't driven an AP1?
This is the funniest comment I’ve seen on here. Can’t tell if he’s serious or just trolling lol!
