Fun fact. When I was a kid, I actually got a shiny wish maker jirachi off of my friends bonus disk. I was told it “wasn’t possible” that I “clearly used a GameShark” etc. I stayed silent and in my own bubble about it for a long time. 4:11 no freaking way, I thought I was stupid, I’ve always been a crazy Game completer because I do almost everything the game have to offer to obtain everything. So I used Google to find every hidden item in every single route with the Item finder. And I picked the item on the gill before the one in Wayward Cave, but when I went there I tried to find the red shard for an hour and I couldn’t figure out what I did wrong because the guide clearly showed me there was a red shard in that cave.

Here's something I thought was interesting. Everyone knows about the Odd Egg in Pokemon Crystal, and how it can randomly hatch into Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Elekid, or Magby. But what's important to note is that they all come with Dizzy Punch as a move that cannot be obtained normally.
Presumably, this move came from the parent of these Pokemon, as a way to teach the player about Egg Moves. However, it is impossible for either parents of these Pokemon to be able to pass down Dizzy Punch, because the only Pokemon that can learn Dizzy Punch in Gen 2 is Kangaskhan. Kangaskhan is a Female-Only Pokemon species, meaning that it's impossible to pass Dizzy Punch down since breeding it will only produce more Kangaskhan.
But in Gen 4, even though the Odd Egg isn't available in HGSS, there is 1 Pokemon that can be the potential male parent of every Odd-Egg Pokemon except for Cleffa and Igglybuff (due to how egg groups work), capable of learning Dizzy Punch: Lopunny
Edit: also, my favorite Pokemon is a tie between Dunsparce and Anorith.

    • @FrostGlader
      @FrostGlader ปีที่แล้ว +55

Another thing is it’s also impossible to transfer the Odd Egg Pokémon with Dizzy Punch into Bank due to it technically being an illegal move.

This series is still so absolutely amazing to me, and I enjoy learning even more things about my absolute obsession!
It would be really cool if you covered obscure pokemon glitches! (hopefully ones that aren't just in Gen 1, even though, yes, I know, gen 1 is spaghetti code. I just would really like to see some obscure pokemon glitches ranging in the many games about the time!)
Maybe even cover things like the obscure pokemon titles! (Like Pokemon Ranger, Pokemon Colusseum, Pokemon Conquest, Pokemon.. Cafe Mix?) Lmao- I think there might actually be hidden details that we still haven't seen yet in these obscure titles :3

Funnily enough, I've had quite a few in Pokémon Café ReMix!
It's mostly been Pokémon models not showing up when selected. I still have a constant issue where, if I select Mewtwo or Dialga for a puzzle, they don't show up next to the customer Pokémon at all.

Hus claim that the sign was only discovered in 2014 is off by a long shot. There are and have been map editors for Pokemon since at least the early 2000's (possibly earlier). I used to play around with them when I was a kid and had noticed that sign. You could see everything in there.

Yo, I'm in this video! I'm the dude that found the shared script ID on the red shards in platinum. (pailmer6 actually doesn't exist)
The two hidden items activating the same script basically means that the other one disappears if you pick one of them up.
Funny enough, this error also exists in Diamond Pearl. It just isn't a red shard.
It probably also exists in BDSP, but I don't have the game, so I can't check that myself.

Obscure fact: there's a name filter that prevents players from naming pokemon naughty things. It was so strict that back in gen 5 you can't even trade a Cofagrigus unless you gave it a nickname (despite pokemon naming it that in the first place) because it had a bad word in it. This was fixed a generation later.

An interesting tidbit that I don't think everyone is aware of, is that many moves have changed their animation mid generation. In G1 and G2 it was only for localization (G1 toned down flashes in moves like Hyper Beam or Thunderbolt... ironically though, some were made WORSE, like those in Confusion and Hypnosis - before being toned down properly in Yellow. G2 has different animation for SonicBoom, for whatever reason), G3 has nothing as far as I know, but I could be wrong. But then G4 started doing things, like how Spacial Rend looks different in Diamond and Pearl, or how Thunder looks different in HeartGold and SoulSilver. This would then happen again in G5 with some moves like Aeroblast, Overheat, Shadow Claw, or Night Daze having different animation in Black 2 and White 2, and even again in G6, though it's harder to tell because this is the 3D era now. I know in ORAS, at least two moves were changed - Fire Blast (it now resembles the 大 more) and Thunder (the electric effects are noticeably different; you can easily tell by checking Mixeli's video from 2018 about this move). Some changes are easier to tell, some you wouldn't be able to tell unless you saw the different animations back to back.
This technically also happens in G7, but Let's Go games are on Switch while Alola games are on 3DS, so I don't really think it's that notable.
Anyway, my favorite Pokemon is Bellossom.

I encountered something that I think only I've experienced so maybe you or the community can answer this 19-year long mystery for me. Story time!
So, the first main series pokemon game I beat was Ruby/Sapphire. My older brother bought Sapphire for me and Ruby for himself the day the game released (only mentioning in case having a Day 1 cartridge is relevant). Anyways, this is where I encountered by first shiny, which was Wingull. I was excited and thought it was a glitch at first, but I caught it anyways, and had my own Wingull with red stripes instead of blue. I was nervous to evolve it into Peliper, but sure enough, the red markings stayed, and I had a shiny Peliper. Neat!
Fast forward to high school about 10 years later. Some friends and I were talking about our first shiny encounters, and I mentioned the Wingull. I mentioned that I like how the red looked, even though Wingull isn't the most exciting pokemon. My friend looked at me like I was stupid, and told me something.
Shiny wingull doesn't have red stripes. They're supposed to be green.
I told him he was wrong, and looked it up when I got home. Literally speechless. It was green. Same with Peliper. I did the logical thing and took a colorblindness test because I know CB people can mix up those colors, but my eyes worked fine. I tried to think back HARD, and I know it was red even to this day. Red and green are opposite on the color wheel, so there's no way I could confuse it for a color so opposite. I've tried googling this, and NOTHING comes up. My running theory is that some shinies may have been different when the game first released, but nothing I've researched has supported this. If anyone asks where the cartridge is now, in probably one of the top 3 worst decisions in my life, I traded it into a GameStop to put money towards a Nintendo DS. Bad move, lost my favorite childhood cartridge, and the mystery with it, and what's worse is that my sister broke my DS a year later lol.
Anyways, assuming my 8 year old eyes didn't mistake the colors on ONE pokemon in the entire game and I actually saw what I saw, I would love to see this mystery tackled. It's such a minute mystery about a minute pokemon, so I'm curious to see if this will every get an explanation. Thanks!

Ok, fact time. The Wishmakr Jirachi came from a COLOSSEUM Bonus Disc, not XD GoD, and it was found in 2009, so hardly 15 years later, since it was first released in 2004. It was then promptly hunted. My theory is A, you did little research, and B, after the conclusion it rarely came up, since unless you were specifically doing this, the bonus disc was pretty much nonexistent, only coming back up again as recently as 2013 when Bank didn't let it pass, due to this Jirachi technically being an oversight.
Now, about the oversight. The JP Bonus Disc gave Celebi. In the process of changing things over for localization, it was decided everyone else would get Jirachi instead. Two mistakes were made. For starters, they didn't re enable the Cart shiny check. In this transfer, both the disc shiny checks, then the cart shiny checks. If a Shiny is the result on either, it rerolls the PID for a different result. For the GBA Cart, that part wasn't re enabled. Second, the disc check somehow got messed up, and now read PIDs backwards. Because of this, the 9 Shiny PIDs would slip through.
And finally, there AREN'T only 7, this thing has been hunted for a long time now, until Bank closes, there's assumed to be several hundred out in the wild. I personally have 9, hunted myself, which easily disproves your 7 only line.

That's crazy about the Jirachis! Though I have to say every time I hear somebody's story about finding a shiny after hundreds or even thousands of encounters I become more convinced that I could never be a shiny hunter, since I simply do not have that kind of patience. I still would like a random shiny though as I've never gotten one (the only shinies I have are from distributions, or guaranteed ones like the shiny Ponyta in Legends Arceus). In fact, I'm pretty sure one of my partners in a raid I joined a couple days ago in Sword had a shiny Latios, cause I remember thinking "I don't think Latios is teal."

But at least in Colosseum it's limited to one Shadow Pokémon per trainer, but the final boss of XD has a total of seven powerful Pokémon that are hard to catch.
