To be fair, after a really weak decade the show is going through something of a Renaissance right now. Chris Clenshaw did a lot of damage control and has completely changed the tone and pace of the show, it's the best it's been since the Santer era now.
❓❓❓❓ 🤔🤔What I have never understood is why NO ONE ever moved into the first flat occupied by Pete/Kathy/Ian. It was more modern looking than any other home. Throughout the years, every home has had multiple owners, except Casa Beale. Also, no one ever lived where Andy and Debbie lived. I think both couples lived apartments but no one ever else did. They all live in row houses. Why is that? It's really bugging me. I grew up with "Ian," and am the same age as he, so I've seen Adam portray the role nearly 40 years now. I must say that even as a teen he was already a very talented actor.

Andy and debbie lived in number 43 which has had several people live there
It wasn't on the square .it was in the tower block that used to be seen in the background
