You're back! I've been going through Jenn withdrawal and watching older videos to tide me over. Welcome back! I work a full 40-hour a week job, been burned out there for weeks (or more). So far so that I'm thinking early retirement is a thing! Thankfully, my reselling gig keeps me grounded. I was able to finagle five days off over Christmas. That definitely helped.
I took a 2 week break also and went to Sanibel Island to my beach house. 11 of us showed up so selling was out of my mind completely with the cooking and commotion. We worked puzzles also. Ready to get back to work and sales are great!
Glad you are back. Happy 2025! I am a part time reseller in CA, just like you I am constantly thinking about what should I be doing w/reselling. My son asked me if I could go to Texas for the month of December and watch my grandson. Of course I wanted to, but again I didn't want to put my stores on vacay mode. I am so glad I did. It was so relaxing not worrying about listing, shipping etc. and of course got to spend time with my 3 month old grandson. Win Win!!
Yay!!! We missed you!! So glad to see you. My husband laughed at how excited I was to see you had a new video. You’re doing great. So glad you got what you needed. It’s never long enough, but I’m so glad you had it. I started Curtsy! I was inspired by you and I’ve had 4 sales. Thank you for sharing this service! So glad you’re back in whatever capacity works for you. Just glad to have you!
My toddlers force me to take a break, especially during school breaks. 🤪 I wanted to be able to work on reselling much more than I was able to. Glad you had a great break! I am also glad the videos are back! ❤
Glad to see you back! Very happy to hear you got a well deserved break! I took an extra long weekend off. I am going to continue at a less aggressive pace as I will still be working my F/T job. Really working on protecting my peace and well being in the coming months.
So happy to see you back, you were definitely missed, but so happy you were able to take a well-deserved break. No classes for me until Jan 13, means time to just slow down and soak in the little things. Snow here at my house in VA is close to 1'. Crazy, but it happens every few years. I did good with sales on Jan 1, 2, and 3, and now crickets, but it's okay, especially since we're not plowed out yet to get to the post office or have mail delivered. Hope you have a blessed and prosperous week!! 💜
Hi Jenn, welcome back! No snow where I’m at. I watched the news this morning. Fog in the mountains and north of us, and low 60’s all week except one day 68. We had 70’s last week. I wear a jacket in the morning and evening and a short sleeve top under it. But that is typical CA weather in lower areas. My sales on Posh are slower right now too. Hopefully they pick up soon. Great to have you back. Lisa in CA
If you cut a tiny hole at the other end of the bag, or just cut the tip of the corner off, the air will go out and you can stuff big clothes into the bag easier. Then, just pop a piece of tape over the little hole after sealing the bag.
Welcome back! Glad you had some good relaxing family time! I took a 4 month break after a major surgery, just slowly getting back now. The break was good, surgery, not so much🤣
Jen, I was attempting to shove a thick sweater into a bag this morning and I was laughing and thinking about you. Laughing with you friend, not at you. 😂😂😂😂
Happy New Year! Welcome back 😊 yes I too did rest the last 2 weeks didn't invest daily in the business. Slow sales for me too. But January is no spend month so I hope that is all it is. Have a great day!
I had not taken a break during the holidays, the only day I didn’t work was Christmas Day. Although my Dad is sick right now, and I’m still babysitting my grandkids full time, so yesterday and today I have not worked on resale. I have not had time to. I’m not sure about the rest of the week either. I’m checking the important items, but as little as possible.
Glad you enjoyed your brake but also glad you are back. Happy New Year. No breaks here. Mine income is also extra income but the extras right now are big. Lol So I'm just pushing through to maximize the profits. We are planning a nice vacation in the spring so until then I gotta push through. I just purchased a new inventory shed as well so gotta make up for spending that. I'm so excited to get the inventory out of the spare room. And if I'm being real honest some has landed in the grandkids playroom here lately. Can't wait to get it moved out of the house. Anyway glad you enjoyed your break good to see you back.
The other weird thing is I got some really wonderful coats and jackets for kids from Salvation Army last year and posted them on marketplace and didn’t sell a single one. This year now I’ve already sold three and last year is when it was freezing, freezing cold, and this year, you literally don’t need them at least the warm warm jackets or coats you don’t need and they’re selling. I cannot figure this out. I bought them on 75% off Friday sale for literally 275 to 375 each so even at $10 I almost triple my cost on this little jacket that I sold on Sunday. She wanted it for her child for the snow and it by no means was a very good snow coat at least for that age of child but hey, who am I to say. It’s sold and that’s all I care she grabbed it loved it and the way she went the brand was Gerry. The second Gerry that I sold this year.
In one of your videos you talked about how you split up your profit in your reselling business and I thought that was really cool so I started an envelope system. We have a gun safe and so the envelopes are in there and what I do is 1/4 of it which we’re talking between 10 and $20 maybe 25, goes into grocery envelope. One into my savings envelope went into trip envelope because we travel a lot and then one envelope for bank account which really is the same asgrocery money but that’s how I do it. My goal was to start making about $100 a week. But I’m lucky if I make $30 a week but it’s something I guess. I used to do this system years and years ago back when my kids were young and I had a full-time job and I haven’t done this for many years so you inspired me to start back up in saving the money in certain categories.
We have only had snow twice in my area this season and the next day it’s in the 40s and melts. We just had one of those the other day. Pretty much here in Central Washington. It was very low single digits a year ago and it’s been in the 40s this month. We are having a very warm winter here in Central Washington state. We get our snow on Christmas Day and a little in January maybe a little in February but really not much at all, which is fine for me. I don’t like it. But it’s really been warm this year normally from December to February. It’s upper 20s to lower 30s but often times it’s been in the 40s to almost 50 just crazy crazy weather
@JenntheReSeller well we got a tbick coat of ice and a foot of sbow on top of that. We got out for the first time today and thankfully it got warmer today than it was supposed to which is helping.
I was wondering you were talking about curtsy and I’ve also heard the restless thrift talk about it. I don’t understand you say that it’s so easy to like cross the over there, but I don’t know how to do it. It’s not on my Vendoo and I don’t see anywhere to connect the account so I wondered if you wouldn’t mind sometime explaining that more in detail😀
Absolutely! If you log into curtsy, it will take you through all the steps. You don’t actually have to use a cross listing tool. Curtsy actually imports all your listings to their platform for you so you just sign up on curtsy and it takes you through all the steps and then you literally just forget about it until they send you an email saying you sold something. it’s pretty wonderful.
I’ve done the same exact thing comping what other TH-camrs are claiming that they can price a certain item for and I find the same thing… For example, someone had this Abercrombie Y2K waffle knit or something and the average sale price was like nine dollars and they said that they were going to list it for 40!… I think the problem with the TH-camrs is that they have an audience that shops their store and will pay those prices so it’s a totally different ball game for them! I actually think it’s very disingenuous for them to be claiming that you can price things for a certain amount when they know good and well the comps do not show that. THEIR comps maybe… but not for the average reseller! Then you have these new resellers going out and buying all these items thinking they can get big money for them and they can’t! Or some ugly Walmart no name flower shirt, saying if you add the keyword fairy goth grungy goth whatever goth that it’ll sell for $40. Not the case for most resellers… no matter how many keywords you use 😅
That is a really good point. Some of the larger TH-camrs are selling primarily to their audience. Some are transparent about it. Others are not. And maybe some just don’t know.
I hear chunky shoes are back in. I have the weirdest pair of shoes. They look like Adidas, but they are made by a brand you cannot even find. They are called Soho. And I got them in the very early 90s. I’m trying to figure out where I would have bought them. It would have been either Kmart or Shopko. But it also could be neither one of them. I have done a photo search and I have found absolutely nothing. They are very sturdy and very cute and I wear them every once in a while and I don’t know why I always think there’s value in everything I have but I think somebody would love these shoes, but yet I don’t wanna get rid of them. That’s part of my problem. I’m trying to liquidate my mom’s things because she went into assisted-living a year ago and we’re talking vintage jewelry like Sarah Coventry and her old pins from the 60s and maybe 70s and some necklaces I mean I just love this stuff but why am I hanging onto it? I really don’t want it. Now I need to figure out the Poshmark thing and how I’m going to ship them.
I think that if you use something and you love it then there’s no harm in keeping it even if it’s worth money however, if you are wanting to sell stuff, Poshmark is super easy. You just get free boxes from USPS and ship them in those boxes. it’s very, very simple.
Glad you had a great break and are feeling refreshed.
Thanks!

Glad to see you back. How cool that you were able to set it aside for a couple of weeks, I'm sure that was a good move.
Thanks so much! It was just what I needed.

Here on the southside of Indianapolis we received 8 to 10 inches of snow. Glad to see you back again.

Cool that you do puzzles, I enjoy them in the winter😊
My family does them more than I do. I get bored pretty quickly. But I pop in and out to put a few pieces in. Or I sit with them and read.
Welcome back!
