Star Trek : The Helena Chronicles 1.02 "Obsessions"

- Friendships are tested to the limit in an episode that sees the return of Captain Johns and a difficult mission for the Helena and her crew. The Orions have managed to get hold of a Thelaron device and the ship is despatched to where they believe the Orions may try to sell it.
Captain Faisal is under pressure from Admiral Knapp to show results or the mission may be aborted.
Meanwhile Dr Ness advises the Captain to place Aster under lock and key for his own protection and Faisal is concerned her friendship has clouded her judgement.

I believe so. And I believe the Trill guy (Jordan) might be the one who played the Majan's son (in Odyssey).

i find this no worse than the next generation. nice to have new st stories. some parts cant be done like hollywood. i would not allways need it.
I do not mean any offence. But someone had their wires crossed in this series. You portray Nachayev as a duty bound but caring officer. This Admiral Rand, whoever she is, is a more accurate depiction of what Nachayev is than yours was. All Nachayev came across as in TNG and DS9 was as a stuck up cow who wanted the job done her way, your opinion be damned.

I have just noticed a floor with the storyline of this episode regarding omega directive and I remember that in the episode of Star Trek voyager called the omega directive that all the research and logs regarding omega were deleted from voyager’s database so how could they know about the harmonic chamber when all work or anything to do with omega was classified and no one would have ever known about all that happened when voyager encountered the omega molecules

Fleet Admiral tells you to put a person in irons then answer is yes sire not no sire. Then the Admiral would go down to crewman if need and put everyone and anybody who refused Admiral orders put them irons also.
Yes, but if a captain has disobey an order that was given to put a unstable person into irons. For yours and the officers and crew of the ship and his on protection as Lt Com Aster was an unstable individual. Yes, under rules of any military you have the right refuse to carry out an unjust order if violates rules that govern take of prisoners or killing of civilians.

...So, why is everyone on this ship a complete nut-bar? Corey I get because his progressively going coo coo for coco puffs is his character arc right now, but he tries to give himself a concussion and the captain is... seemingly kinda charmed by this (2:39)...? Whaaat?
Then the engineer (4:56) has taken the "treat her like a lady" advice WAY too far, constantly whispering to the ship, providing it with mood lightning, and seemingly quite genuinely willing to kill people for refusing to fix the ship's hull breaches as fast as he would like.
I was actually kinda on board with Odyssey, but I'm finding this "everybody be cray-cray!" thing Helena has going on a lot harder to stomach.
I'll give the "squeezing stinky eggshells to one-up the Klingon" thing a pass, since doing stupid shit to impress Klingons is a proud Star Trek tradition, but thinking of combat in a quasi-sexual fashion (13:10) while you watch, amused, as a fellow officer burns his hands making you absolutely useless bullshit? Not so much.
