This is how I want Mario Odyssey 2 multiplayer to be.
In single player you can play as either Mario and Luigi via the Odyssey or on the fly.
In 2 player mode you can play as both Mario and Luigi via Local or online

How I think the mod creator can improve the mod:
-There are 2 modes you can play, VS mode and Co-op mode.
- Game updates (ex. the door in that pyramid stucture thing will now open if a player collects the moon.)
- When people capture something, you wont see them just walking without moving their legs. You will see them as the creature they just captured
VS mode:
- You are racing with up to 4 people for who can beat the game faster.
-You can grab other people, allowing you to throw them off a cliff.
- Multiple character selcetion (ex. one can be luigi , one can be mario, one can be toad and one can be yoshi)
Co-op mode:
- You are cooperating with up to 4 people to beat the game together.
-You and your teammates beat the boss together and they dont have to fight individual bosses
I can go on for a lot of time but these are the major ones

1:22:01 When I was playing mario golf super rush, this happened. I just hit the ball through the wall in speed golf, and since you can't get to your ball without dying, I was stuck.

Smallant and Cjya did a two player speed run, though I don't think the moons were properly synced at the time cause it was a pre-release build.
After the multiplayer mod fully released Smallant and 7 other mario speed-runners did an 8 player run.
