Key had all of his mind on this album. He said that had to fight with the company to put his ideas on it, and those are ideas that he kept with him for 14 years. Everything is influenced by him and it makes me so pround... he wrote Eighteen and Saturday Night.
this is what Key said about Eighteen: “Eighteen is what i want to say to eighteen year old Key. Something like, ‘You go, boy. You can do whatever you want. I think many people who have heard Key's album, even casual shawols, say that FACE is one of the best albums they've heard. It's not as sad or moody but it does have more music variety. I do recommend you listen to I Wanna Be repackaged album because it includes the music from FACE as well as 2 other songs.
That is why I love SHINee so much, I feel that it is SM's group that makes the most sincere, proper and transcendental music, it is the group with the most creative and artistic freedom since the Sherlock era and it was seen more clearly from the view era. There is no other group that compares to them. there is a lot of mainstream music but not with them. they are so unique in everything. each one of them. 13 years in the industry and its impact is no joke! when someone said that SHINee is the past, present and future of the music industry. They weren't wrong .. I see so much sincerity in this album and Key's MV. I am so proud to have watched him grow in every aspect. of course he is a musical monster. no one can touch him. album and song of the year without any doubt.
I agree 100% with what you said. That’s also exactly what I think and believe. I love SHINee very much. I only follow them and trust their music only, not because other groups and their songs not good but because I’m too invested with SHINee and never get enough of them and their music, almost every time I listen to their music they always sound interesting and fresh no matter if it’s my first time or my 100th time. So it really pains my heart to find the Lower views counts on their MVs and they missed the top spot for some polls just because our fandom a bit smaller compared to most of the 3rd or 4th Gen.We can’t do anything but to do our best to support them as much as we could. I hope more and more people will be drawn to their music, their artistic & musical talents and their personalities to know how to appreciate and respect them sooner or later.
Helium gives me chills every time I hear it, not sure what it is! I loved this whole album and I know I'll have it on loop for a while. The 80s vibe it has going on just makes it that much more dramatic which I think is very Key and he sounds beautiful. Face/I Wanna Be is a lot different than Bad Love and definitely less dark. But it's still really good! Hope your shot doesn't do a number on you
Key is singing about his former self at eighteen years old and speaking to his younger self :) In an interview he said the following: He wrote the lyrics to two songs in the album - 'Saturday Night' and 'Eighteen (End of My World)' - opposites in a thematic spectrum. “‘Saturday Night’ is fiction, and ‘Eighteen’ is my story,” he explains, adding that the former is about a breakup during the current COVID-19 pandemic, while the latter is a story he’s telling his younger self. “When I debuted, I was 18, so I just wanted to cheer up 18-years-old Key. At the end of the song, [the lyrics] turn to, ‘I would love to watch the end of my world with you.’” He looks down, pausing to think for a second. “It’s like, if the end really comes, I can just watch [it]. That’s not a sad thing for me. I’ll be there with you, so you don’t need to be scared for whatever it is at the end of the tunnel,” he says. “It’s also about living in the moment. 18 is 18, and 30 is 30. In the year there have been very good songs but at the level of soloists ADVICE by Taemin and BAD LOVE have been the most gaming changing songs in every sense of the word. I live for it. As expected of SHINee. Bad Love is the album of the year indeed. Unique and different is SHINee's signature. 🔥
Key also has a Japanese album called Hologram and yes, Key was extremely involved in this album choosing which song would fit his concept, so good! Hope you're doing well!
key wrote the lyrics to eighteen and he said it means a lot to him. it's a message to his younger 18 year old self, but, he said, anyone who's at that stage in their life can relate to it. it's the things he wish he could tell him of the past, and it's a gorgeous song. face & i wanna be are absolutely awesome albums btw! this is my fave album of the year, hands down, and i'm so proud of him. he's worked so hard! also, helium, gay anthem of 2021.

he's always been a musician, most people forget that, most people see him and think of him as an entertainer, humor guy, sassy guy, fashion diva, visuals whatever... from my perspective he's never been referenced to as truly an artist, vocalist, musician on his own, at least not enough. yeah yeah everybody says and aknowledges that shinee vocal kings, shinee kpop princes, as a group, and then we have taemin whom everybody into kpop knows and listens to his title tracks or bsides, the conclusion is taemin is the most popular and then shinee as a group. what i wanna say is that kibum should be just as much talked about and appreciated practically not just theoretically. i wanna see people be passionate about key music first and foremost, including voice, composition, lyrics, story, instrumental, production. i know we live today, modern times, but lets admit it, the best music was in the 60s 70s 80s 90s and i dont have words to explain how admirable and respectable and inspiring and rolemodel is Key when he builds musical art that really takes you back to those time almost flawlessly, like shinee are THE guys to do that, but Kim Kibum does it in a way more realistic time traveling style. i have a deep soul and mental connection with Jjong, but musically i think Kibum is the ultimate.
Kibum actually said on his live this morning that Zachary and Stacy are his friends irl, and since he wrote the song, he felt strange just throwing in generic names.

This might even be my favorite album of him. It's so obvious that he was in charge of the concept, styling and all of that, Key's artistry is unmatched! I'm literally obsessed with all songs, can't wait for my albums to arrive!
He said that Eighteen is him writing to his younger self, and it was really emotional for him to write! If you do react to Face imo definitely react to the repackaged version I Wanna Be, because that has I Wanna Be and Show Me on it, and Show Me is one of THE great underrated Key songs. But all the songs on Face are exceptional, it's still one of my favourite albums ever.

Face was my absolute favourite album ever, and i cannot believe key topped that with Bad Love. so yes, to answer your question, Face (and the repackage as well) is just as good.

Although my bias is Taemin, this album really got me. Especially he participated in all the things in this album. (look the special packages of the album!) I do love all the songs, but my favorite is BAD LOVE and EIGHTEEN. Last Sunday, I watched his online concert. The live performance of BAD LOVE was so stunning, and that made me love the song so much.✨ He has another new song in the concert VCR but the song is not included in this album. It's also unique and great. Key is really an artist. We're all happy that they can do their own music. When I listened to the album, I have the feeling again that all the 5 members of SHINee are so different. They do have their own colors. Their solo styles are very different but all of them are so good. However, when they are together as SHINee, they sound like SHINee again. What amazing group! I love your reaction. I HATE that Key always has lower views than he deserves. I feel sad and upset. He put his soul into it. He waited 14 years to do this. He fought with SM to come up with a concept that he likes so much and doesn't get the recognition that he deserves. Fans who really love him feel sad. But we will always do our best to give him the recognition he deserves, he is an artist who fights for what he wants and likes, beyond what he can win, he does it for his own satisfaction and that gives more value to his work. Taemin would already be high up with the views !!! So Let's give him the same support for being Shinee!!!
The only lyrics that aren't sad are helium really. That's my favourite but the whole album is sooo great. My favourite was Atlantis until now. They're neck to neck right now. The lyrics of Saturday Night were written by Key too and he said he was inspired by his own being tired of corona. That's why he sings about being on the screens daily and missing the warmth. Thanks for your reaction, it made me realize how grateful I am that he could release it althougth SM is making a really bad job promoting it as we are used to sadly.
@@SirAustin "Bad Love" is straight out of classic '80s - rock ballad/ electro-rock/ dance-pop. However, it mixes in '60s, '70s era sci-fi elements. If you like the sci-fi retro theme in Key's "Bad Love" MV, if you haven't already, you should check out his "Bad Love Mood Sampler" video -- it's a teaser video that came out a few days before Bad Love's release. Now, that video is straight out of a '50s or '60s sci-fi TV show or movie and the storyline is connected to SM's Universe concept. Which will make all the campy-cool space images in the "Bad Love" MV make a lot more sense. Key said his style is more retro '80s/'90s MTV, so that's the treatment they used to come up with his comeback concept. SM's songwriter Kenzie was the lyricist/producer of this song with contributions made by Key. Key came to her with the idea to create a retro '80s/'90s style song that fit his vision for what he wanted this album to represent, and this is what Kenzie and Key came up with. Yes, everything you see and hear was designed by Key. This is 100% authentically Key's style -- from the storyline of the MV to the sound and style of the song, to the outfits everyone wore, to the set design, etc. -- it's all based on his ideas and design. It's Key's vocals you hear in the whole song -- including the deeper whisper parts. (Not Minho.) The person in the mirror is the woman who is haunting him with her bad love. He is thinking of her and remembering what she put him through during their relationship, so she appears in the mirror like a memory that won't go away. As Key has explained, the storyline in this MV is about how his character is going crazy, trapped in his mind, and while watching TV he projects himself into the scenes on TV. Every time the channel changes, his character is shown in a different scene in the MV. (And it's not modern day TV programs, as you can see from the aesthetic, it's supposed to remind you of '80s/'90s international/U.S. TV programs.) That is why at the end you see him haggard and worn out looking. The TV goes fuzzy and he is pulled out of his crazy warped fantasy world and brought back to reality. Where he is recovering from the "Bad Love." I think "Bad Love" has become my favorite song of the year, and it's not just because I am a Shawol. I mean I can't even think of a song that came out this year, or even in the last few years, that compares to how much I love everything about "Bad Love." As you know, Key is our fashionista of the group, who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. He is known for really paying attention to detail when it comes to fashion. To Key, fashion is about being unique and looking for ways to stand out, without being outrageous. So everything you see him wearing will be very trendy and fashion forward. Key can pretty much wear anything -- time and time again, he has shown that the fashion styles and clothing that would often look ridiculous or just average on most people, when he wears it, always looks high fashion and cool. That same thing could be said about all the members of SHINee, with their own unique styles. Many people in the industry look to Key when it comes to fashion trends. That's also why SM has made him its director of fashion. Key is friends with several big name designers. With SHINee's experimental concept, the group is also known for creating fashion trends, so designers really covet a chance to work with any of the members of SHINee -- but especially Key -- because SHINee will give them street cred and undoubtedly make them more popular. Key is also known as SHINee's dance copy machine. He has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized. And, as a musical stage actor, he knows how to use his full vocal range, and he has no problem projecting his voice to the back of the theater. Plus, he is one of the most popular guests/cast members on variety shows, so he knows how to capture people's attention. As SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, everything SHINee does is meant to be the first and they are expected to set the trend. Everything the members of SHINee release should be a sound and style you have never heard in Kpop before, because they are the ones who are supposed to introduce the next style and sound to the industry. With every new song SHINee produces it's expected to be different than the last -- including the members solo work -- so you will never hear the same style or sound from Key in any of his songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always be very Key-like. The industry looks to the members of SHINee to show them what the next song style and dance trend will be. When any of the members of SHINee does something, the industry takes note and follows suit. SHINee has started the trend with almost everything -- with every one of their songs to their dances to clothing trends, to live performances, to the way Kpop is promoted -- there is almost nothing that can't be attributed to something SHINee has been involved in. Wow thank you for such a heartfelt reaction! I'm so in love with this album, I can't even find the words yet. I must say though, you absolutely need to go check out Key's first album. Go straight to the repackage version. Don't even think about it, just do it as soon as you can. It's an absolute gem from start to finish. I mean, shawols are currently having a hard time deciding if they like Bad Love more! That's just how good his first album is. For sure it'll make you fall even more deeply in love with Key as a solo artist.
Btw, it's nice to see you feeling better this week! I hope your second vaccine won't give you to much troubles. About the songs, honestly, when he started the concert with Helium, Yellow Tape and then Imagine (from Face/I wanna be) I was ecstatic! Like, I can't even put words on how much I loved Helium and then Yellow card. But when he sang Eighteen (he actually wrote the lyrics for this one), damn... this song is really something. I love this mini as much as I loved Face/I wanna be. And yes, his first album was full of bops. And for the concept, yes, this mini album is the one that really fits him (he said it himself) he fought for this concept and album. SM, even if they are like... mostly known for shitty reasons, I will always thank them for letting all their artists, once they have spent some years with them, having a lot of part in the creative part of their release. This time, I was so surprised to see how many versions they actually released. And all of them have such a retro theme, I love it so much how Key's idea was followed till the physical releases. I know he will perform on music shows, so I can't wait to see that!

Wow! You look so moved listening to "Eighteen". It's a good sign! This album proves what great music, delivered with heart, voice and soul of the artist, can do. What's the point if music doesn't make you feel something? It's also easier for artists if they can connect with what they're doing. Whatever it'll be the result, it makes me SO HAPPY that it was Key who came up with this tremendous idea and fought for great music 💙
Key really knows how to make a good ending song for his album, Eighteen gave me the same vibe with This Life in his Face album, really really good feels, you should react to that album Sir Austin, it's really a work of an art, it's my fave album of all time!

key led the creative concept and direction for this album. it's his blood sweat and tears (literally, he said he cried after the mv filming was over because he was so overwhelmed by how difficult this comeback was). he had to fight tooth and nail for bad love to be the title track, and for his creative vision to be recognised and approved. we wouldn't have gotten this absolute gem of a comeback if he'd given in to the opinions of his company's management
Face is a great album and when I first heard it I listened to it for a week almost constantly. I love all the songs from that album. But Bad Love is even better. Key said that in case of Face he had a say, but he was choosing from the things that were proposed to him. In the case of this album everything was his decision. And it shows.
Key is an amazing artist and I really appreciate you Sir for reacting to this album. I hope a few more reactors will also react to Key and not only to more popular groups. This album is amazing. Face / I wanna be I think are both equally as good as bad love. It’s not really sad overall, though there are some songs. I think his first album has more musical variety. Can’t wait for you to hear it!
I had to run some important family errands while Key's Beyond Live concert was on. Family comes first, right? So... While on the bus, I tuned in and this song came on, without knowing the behind story of the lyrics, with no context, I heard "my eighteen, my eighteen" and I literally broke down quietly. I instantly understood and relate to what he's trying convey. It was so strange. Now that I know more, this song is even more special. I understand those struggles at 18. I love this album and Eighteen is my fav song. Super high quality album!
Saturday Night is written by Key and is supposed to be a sad pandemic bop! It's supposed to be from the perspective of someone on a Zoom call with his friends who just went through a breakup so is both emotionally and physically in isolation. He wrote both the lyrics for Saturday Night and Eighteen and says that the first one is fiction and the second one is his real message to his 18 year old self. :) There's a beautiful ballad Key sang on a show you can find here! th-cam.com/video/_z1SxP4veiU/w-d-xo.html Face is completely full of bops that you should definitely listen to, though it's more of a mix of sad/happy. They all undeniably sound like Key in their production as well. My interpretation of the "end of my world" part of Eighteen according to some of the things Key has said about it is more along the lines of embracing the risk of failure, talking to his younger self like "Take risks and try anything and if it all crumbles down around us it will have been worth it to try" though I can see an interpretation with talking to a younger self afraid of the future as "I'll be here with you until the end so you don't have to be afraid" as well. He said the lyrics were difficult to write but it's one of his favorite songs off the album. I hope all your medical stuff goes well and you don't get too many side effects from the vax!

For eighteen, he said he wrote it reflecting on who he was when he was 18. And I think what he means by the end of the world thing is that he wants to still hold onto all the good parts and the innocence and dreams that he had when he was eighteen, and he's reassuring himself that things will be okay.

He said that the whole concept for this album was from him, the style he had in mind for 14 years and wanted to show to his audience ! I did not expect to love Bad Love this much, but I cannot describe in words how I feel about it. It’s something about that synth beat that gets to me. The whole album is great. The 80s vibe is doing it for me.
Face and the repackage is that album. It has no skips for me. It does have some sad twerk songs but they are so good. He was able to collab with a lot of his friends in the industry on it which is amazing. It is definitely that album that gets you up and dancing, even when you don't feel like it.
I think this album also candidate of my favorite album of the year, I really love the style and vibe of it, all song so good but my favorite, hands down, Eighteen, Saturday Night and Bad Love, specially Eighteen, such a amazing song, I put on my playlist on first listen and can't stop humming it ever since. yes, the FACE (& its repackage) album is like that as well, bop after bop, it does have some ballads, that album is too good to be true, a no skip masterpiece. I get very emotional with "I will fight" which we think it's for Jonghyun.

I think many people who have heard Key's album, even casual shawols, say that FACE is one of the best albums they've heard. It's not as sad or moody but it does have more music variety. I do recommend you listen to I Wanna Be repackaged album because it includes the music from FACE as well as 2 other songs.
That is why I love SHINee so much, I feel that it is SM's group that makes the most sincere, proper and transcendental music, it is the group with the most creative and artistic freedom since the Sherlock era and it was seen more clearly from the view era. There is no other group that compares to them. there is a lot of mainstream music but not with them. they are so unique in everything. each one of them. 13 years in the industry and its impact is no joke! when someone said that SHINee is the past, present and future of the music industry. They weren't wrong .. I see so much sincerity in this album and Key's MV. I am so proud to have watched him grow in every aspect. of course he is a musical monster. no one can touch him. album and song of the year without any doubt.
I agree 100% with what you said. That’s also exactly what I think and believe. I love SHINee very much. I only follow them and trust their music only, not because other groups and their songs not good but because I’m too invested with SHINee and never get enough of them and their music, almost every time I listen to their music they always sound interesting and fresh no matter if it’s my first time or my 100th time. So it really pains my heart to find the Lower views counts on their MVs and they missed the top spot for some polls just because our fandom a bit smaller compared to most of the 3rd or 4th Gen.We can’t do anything but to do our best to support them as much as we could. I hope more and more people will be drawn to their music, their artistic & musical talents and their personalities to know how to appreciate and respect them sooner or later.
Helium gives me chills every time I hear it, not sure what it is! I loved this whole album and I know I'll have it on loop for a while. The 80s vibe it has going on just makes it that much more dramatic which I think is very Key and he sounds beautiful. Face/I Wanna Be is a lot different than Bad Love and definitely less dark. But it's still really good! Hope your shot doesn't do a number on you

At the end of the song, [the lyrics] turn to, ‘I would love to watch the end of my world with you.’” He looks down, pausing to think for a second. “It’s like, if the end really comes, I can just watch [it]. That’s not a sad thing for me. I’ll be there with you, so you don’t need to be scared for whatever it is at the end of the tunnel,” he says. “It’s also about living in the moment. 18 is 18, and 30 is 30. I don’t make specific plans, it’s more about following my heart.”

In the year there have been very good songs but at the level of soloists ADVICE by Taemin and BAD LOVE have been the most gaming changing songs in every sense of the word. I live for it. As expected of SHINee. Bad Love is the album of the year indeed. Unique and different is SHINee's signature. 🔥

key wrote the lyrics to eighteen and he said it means a lot to him. it's a message to his younger 18 year old self, but, he said, anyone who's at that stage in their life can relate to it. it's the things he wish he could tell him of the past, and it's a gorgeous song.

he's always been a musician, most people forget that, most people see him and think of him as an entertainer, humor guy, sassy guy, fashion diva, visuals whatever... from my perspective he's never been referenced to as truly an artist, vocalist, musician on his own, at least not enough. yeah yeah everybody says and aknowledges that shinee vocal kings, shinee kpop princes, as a group, and then we have taemin whom everybody into kpop knows and listens to his title tracks or bsides, the conclusion is taemin is the most popular and then shinee as a group. what i wanna say is that kibum should be just as much talked about and appreciated practically not just theoretically. i wanna see people be passionate about key music first and foremost, including voice, composition, lyrics, story, instrumental, production. i know we live today, modern times, but lets admit it, the best music was in the 60s 70s 80s 90s and i dont have words to explain how admirable and respectable and inspiring and rolemodel is Key when he builds musical art that really takes you back to those time almost flawlessly, like shinee are THE guys to do that, but Kim Kibum does it in a way more realistic time traveling style. i have a deep soul and mental connection with Jjong, but musically i think Kibum is the ultimate.
Kibum actually said on his live this morning that Zachary and Stacy are his friends irl, and since he wrote the song, he felt strange just throwing in generic names.
Eighteen was written by Key thinking about his 18 with Shinee members. He said this when he called Minho during his radio program.

If you do react to Face imo definitely react to the repackaged version I Wanna Be, because that has I Wanna Be and Show Me on it, and Show Me is one of THE great underrated Key songs. But all the songs on Face are exceptional, it's still one of my favourite albums ever.

When I listened to the album, I have the feeling again that all the 5 members of SHINee are so different.
They do have their own colors. Their solo styles are very different but all of them are so good.

I HATE that Key always has lower views than he deserves. I feel sad and upset. He put his soul into it. He waited 14 years to do this. He fought with SM to come up with a concept that he likes so much and doesn't get the recognition that he deserves. Fans who really love him feel sad. But we will always do our best to give him the recognition he deserves, he is an artist who fights for what he wants and likes, beyond what he can win, he does it for his own satisfaction and that gives more value to his work. Taemin would already be high up with the views !!! So Let's give him the same support for being Shinee!!!

The lyrics of Saturday Night were written by Key too and he said he was inspired by his own being tired of corona. That's why he sings about being on the screens daily and missing the warmth.

If you like the sci-fi retro theme in Key's "Bad Love" MV, if you haven't already, you should check out his "Bad Love Mood Sampler" video -- it's a teaser video that came out a few days before Bad Love's release. Now, that video is straight out of a '50s or '60s sci-fi TV show or movie and the storyline is connected to SM's Universe concept. Which will make all the campy-cool space images in the "Bad Love" MV make a lot more sense.
Key said his style is more retro '80s/'90s MTV, so that's the treatment they used to come up with his comeback concept.
SM's songwriter Kenzie was the lyricist/producer of this song with contributions made by Key. Key came to her with the idea to create a retro '80s/'90s style song that fit his vision for what he wanted this album to represent, and this is what Kenzie and Key came up with.
Yes, everything you see and hear was designed by Key. This is 100% authentically Key's style -- from the storyline of the MV to the sound and style of the song, to the outfits everyone wore, to the set design, etc. -- it's all based on his ideas and design. It's Key's vocals you hear in the whole song -- including the deeper whisper parts. (Not Minho.)
The person in the mirror is the woman who is haunting him with her bad love. He is thinking of her and remembering what she put him through during their relationship, so she appears in the mirror like a memory that won't go away.
As Key has explained, the storyline in this MV is about how his character is going crazy, trapped in his mind, and while watching TV he projects himself into the scenes on TV. Every time the channel changes, his character is shown in a different scene in the MV. (And it's not modern day TV programs, as you can see from the aesthetic, it's supposed to remind you of '80s/'90s international/U.S. TV programs.) That is why at the end you see him haggard and worn out looking. The TV goes fuzzy and he is pulled out of his crazy warped fantasy world and brought back to reality. Where he is recovering from the "Bad Love."
I think "Bad Love" has become my favorite song of the year, and it's not just because I am a Shawol. I mean I can't even think of a song that came out this year, or even in the last few years, that compares to how much I love everything about "Bad Love."
As you know, Key is our fashionista of the group, who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. He is known for really paying attention to detail when it comes to fashion. To Key, fashion is about being unique and looking for ways to stand out, without being outrageous. So everything you see him wearing will be very trendy and fashion forward. Key can pretty much wear anything -- time and time again, he has shown that the fashion styles and clothing that would often look ridiculous or just average on most people, when he wears it, always looks high fashion and cool. That same thing could be said about all the members of SHINee, with their own unique styles.
Many people in the industry look to Key when it comes to fashion trends. That's also why SM has made him its director of fashion. Key is friends with several big name designers. With SHINee's experimental concept, the group is also known for creating fashion trends, so designers really covet a chance to work with any of the members of SHINee -- but especially Key -- because SHINee will give them street cred and undoubtedly make them more popular.
Key is also known as SHINee's dance copy machine. He has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized.
And on top of all of that, he is SHINee's fluent English speaker, and he is almost as good as a native speaker. That is why his pronunciation of the English lines in his songs are so crisp and clear. As you also know, not only is Key an amazing singer, but he is also one of SHINee's rappers. How often do you see a rapper with that type of vocal range? That's why SHINee are so highly respected in the industry because almost no one can do it the way SHINee does it.
He is also a K-drama and movie actor, so he knows how to act. And, as a musical stage actor, he knows how to use his full vocal range, and he has no problem projecting his voice to the back of the theater. Plus, he is one of the most popular guests/cast members on variety shows, so he knows how to capture people's attention.
As SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, everything SHINee does is meant to be the first and they are expected to set the trend. Everything the members of SHINee release should be a sound and style you have never heard in Kpop before, because they are the ones who are supposed to introduce the next style and sound to the industry. With every new song SHINee produces it's expected to be different than the last -- including the members solo work -- so you will never hear the same style or sound from Key in any of his songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always be very Key-like.
The industry looks to the members of SHINee to show them what the next song style and dance trend will be. When any of the members of SHINee does something, the industry takes note and follows suit. SHINee has started the trend with almost everything -- with every one of their songs to their dances to clothing trends, to live performances, to the way Kpop is promoted -- there is almost nothing that can't be attributed to something SHINee has been involved in. And Key's solo work is no exception.

I'm so in love with this album, I can't even find the words yet. I must say though, you absolutely need to go check out Key's first album. Go straight to the repackage version. Don't even think about it, just do it as soon as you can. It's an absolute gem from start to finish. I mean, shawols are currently having a hard time deciding if they like Bad Love more! That's just how good his first album is. For sure it'll make you fall even more deeply in love with Key as a solo artist.

About the songs, honestly, when he started the concert with Helium, Yellow Tape and then Imagine (from Face/I wanna be) I was ecstatic! Like, I can't even put words on how much I loved Helium and then Yellow card.
But when he sang Eighteen (he actually wrote the lyrics for this one), damn... this song is really something.
I love this mini as much as I loved Face/I wanna be.
And yes, his first album was full of bops.
And for the concept, yes, this mini album is the one that really fits him (he said it himself) he fought for this concept and album.
SM, even if they are like... mostly known for shitty reasons, I will always thank them for letting all their artists, once they have spent some years with them, having a lot of part in the creative part of their release.

key led the creative concept and direction for this album. it's his blood sweat and tears (literally, he said he cried after the mv filming was over because he was so overwhelmed by how difficult this comeback was). he had to fight tooth and nail for bad love to be the title track, and for his creative vision to be recognised and approved. we wouldn't have gotten this absolute gem of a comeback if he'd given in to the opinions of his company's management

Face is a great album and when I first heard it I listened to it for a week almost constantly. I love all the songs from that album. But Bad Love is even better. Key said that in case of Face he had a say, but he was choosing from the things that were proposed to him. In the case of this album everything was his decision. And it shows.
Key is an amazing artist and I really appreciate you Sir for reacting to this album. I hope a few more reactors will also react to Key and not only to more popular groups. This album is amazing. I had to run some important family errands while Key's Beyond Live concert was on. Family comes first, right? So... While on the bus, I tuned in and this song came on, without knowing the behind story of the lyrics, with no context, I heard "my eighteen, my eighteen" and I literally broke down quietly. I instantly understood and relate to what he's trying convey. It was so strange. Now that I know more, this song is even more special. I understand those struggles at 18. I love this album and Eighteen is my fav song. Super high quality album!

Saturday Night is written by Key and is supposed to be a sad pandemic bop! It's supposed to be from the perspective of someone on a Zoom call with his friends who just went through a breakup so is both emotionally and physically in isolation. He wrote both the lyrics for Saturday Night and Eighteen and says that the first one is fiction and the second one is his real message to his 18 year old self. :)

Face is completely full of bops that you should definitely listen to, though it's more of a mix of sad/happy. They all undeniably sound like Key in their production as well.
My interpretation of the "end of my world" part of Eighteen according to some of the things Key has said about it is more along the lines of embracing the risk of failure, talking to his younger self like "Take risks and try anything and if it all crumbles down around us it will have been worth it to try" though I can see an interpretation with talking to a younger self afraid of the future as "I'll be here with you until the end so you don't have to be afraid" as well. He said the lyrics were difficult to write but it's one of his favorite songs off the album.

For eighteen, he said he wrote it reflecting on who he was when he was 18. And I think what he means by the end of the world thing is that he wants to still hold onto all the good parts and the innocence and dreams that he had when he was eighteen, and he's reassuring himself that things will be okay.

Anyway, Key was super involved in this album and he did write several of the songs. Eighteen was especially special to him. I'm sure others in the comments have explained all this. I am so proud of Key and I'm so grateful for his music. I Wanna Be and Hologram are also amazing albums. I'm actually kind of impressed with how much SM (and Key) has done to promote Bad Love. He will be doing various live stages for the music shows so we can look forward to that! Idk if I missed it if you talked about it but did you see the different album versions of Bad Love?! I did not expect to love Bad Love this much, but I cannot describe in words how I feel about it. It’s something about that synth beat that gets to me.
The whole album is great. The 80s vibe is doing it for me.

Face and the repackage is that album. It has no skips for me. It does have some sad twerk songs but they are so good. He was able to collab with a lot of his friends in the industry on it which is amazing. It is definitely that album that gets you up and dancing, even when you don't feel like it.

I think this album also candidate of my favorite album of the year, I really love the style and vibe of it, all song so good but my favorite, hands down, Eighteen, Saturday Night and Bad Love, specially Eighteen, such a amazing song, I put on my playlist on first listen and can't stop humming it ever since. I really glad you also love it, cause when I watch and listen to it I really can't wait to see your reaction cause I know you will love it so much and I was right 😌

yes, the FACE (& its repackage) album is like that as well, bop after bop, it does have some ballads, that album is too good to be true, a no skip masterpiece. I get very emotional with "I will fight" which we think it's for Jonghyun.
