Hi gorgeous, I think the Ari perfumes are nice, not great. I just cannot get over the packaging, reminds me of a toy and it's just not nice. If they made it like chanel fragrances and made the cap a crystal or something eye catching, I would love them more. Just looks like a toy you can get at McDonalds 😭 And since I don't find them anything amazing, I will not put up with the packaging ☹️
I'm scared/hesitant to try it, since Thank u next (even the name is hideous) was a huge letdown after Cloud being good.

I bought it today.. you are right.. it’s more mature and different than all her previous perfumes.
This is my favorite Ariana scent! I've been wearing it to bed actually, I find it comforting and cozy.

as you said r.e.m stands for rapid eye movement, which is the point of sleep where you sleep the deepest (dreams). She is a superhero because its a dream a non-real thing but amazing. Lavender (also in there) makes you sleepy/dreamy. So it all is very thought through and in my opinion, AMAZING. it also (as I can see people saying) is related to her song "R.e.m" where she sings "You're such a dream to me" again dream. Are you following me? Can you see the red thread? Good:)

I love the packaging, I think it's beautiful. I think glass would've made it a little better, but I still love it. I'm not a huge lavender fan because I get migraines alot from smells like that, but you said it was a soft scent so I'm really excited to try it. 🖤
R.E.M. is a song of her's 😌 it's quite dreamy
This is a faceted scent. There are different notes that transform once it is worn. It transforms into a warm cookie on me. The first impression that you are describing are all the top notes (the first impression). Maybe it smells different on somebody else due to chemistry of how it reacts to our skin and what type of body cleansing is used.
I think it is inspired directly from her song REM. It even has the smell and experience that reflects the vibe of the song.
My husband loved it on me.
My choice perfume has been Santal 22 by La Labo, Coco Chanel and Narcisco Rodriguez. With that said, my attraction has always been to more of the subtle warm notes of sandal wood in a fragrances. I do not want to be noticed for a strong perfume.
Although the strength of the scent is more of a edt it has the longevity and fullness of a edp.
I love R.E.M, I wouldn't compare it to cloud- they are completely different. My bottle arrived a few days ago and I've worn it to bed each night and it lasted until the morning. Would definitely agree with it being a salty lavender skin scent, though when I first sprayed it I could weirdly smell a lot of citrus. I hate the tacky bottle though.

Maybe it leans masculine to some because historically Lavender has been used in men’s cologne & ‘now’ it’s being used/crossing over into women’s perfume 🥰 UNISEX fragrance
My daughter is driving me crazy for that fragrance, but it was sold out at Ulta. She loves all Ariana Grande perfumes.
Check on Mercari! There is a lightly used one with the box and I had seen it for 46 dollars for a 1.7 ounce

you can get them at Walmart or Amazon I believe, the biggest bottle of cloud on Walmart was the same price as the smallest at ulta, better deals at Walmart!!!!
I agree! It’s definitely the more mature out of all of her other fragrances. I just wish it lasted longer :(
This is my favorite out of all her scents!!! It smelled so gorgeous and I couldn’t get enough of it after I sprayed it at Ulta. 😍 Ordered the travel size first!

I’m thinking now that this is a night time scent due to R.E.M it’s named after one of her songs and the song is about a boy in her dreams and her not wanting to wake up because her dream boy is too good to be true. Maybe that is why it’s so light, I felt like I was spraying water the scent was nice, but I was not blown away

I purchased this today bc I watched a recent video you uploaded mentioning it, and it caught my attention.... Wow, I'm so in love with it!!! Affordable scent and it has such a pleasant lavender clean touch. Loved it!!! 💜

It’s actually a stunning smell in my opinion. I feel like this perfume is something Marilyn Monroe would wear if she were alive today. Like if u know Marilyn than u know she was a very boujie, fancy, well kept and classy woman. Everything about the smell of REM yells Marilyn. It’s a very extravagant smell. And very like Grown Woman perfume. ❤️
Hey I just wanted to post this comment! I like watching your videos and I listen to Ariana's music, and I'm 26. R.E.M. does mean Rapid Eye Movement and Ariana used R.E.M. when it came naming one of her songs on the Sweetener CD and it's about meeting your perfect man or significant other in person after dreaming about them.

Hi 👋🏽 - I smelled this briefly on a paper strip this weekend and enjoyed it more than I’d expected, but it was quite airy. It really fits the style of the other AG scents. I might search out a sample or decant to try it out, but I won’t blind buy a bottle like I did for Cloud 😬. Although I do like lavender and skin scents. 🤔 Just ordered YSL Libre Intensment, so maybe that’ll satisfy my lavender search. Thanks for your overview! 🙏🏽💟☮️☯️⚛️

I have never ever tried any ariana grande fragrances oop. Which I will love too . Just wish it was gifted to me. Love love perfumes ♥️🥰🥰🥰🥰. My birthday is also coming up this October 16. Who's birthday is in October. Libra babes

REM is the stage in sleep where you’re most knocked out so you’re able to have dreams. In her song REM she talks about her and a guy in a dream so I believe the fragrance is supposed to be a combination of a soft feminine girl and a little masculine touch. Which I can confirm is true because after the soft fluff wears off you’re left with a more cologne smell.
This fragrance to me is such a bed time fragrance and I don’t believe it’s worth the price. Her other fragrances projected so much more and have been a little more defined and complex. After a wear this is gone in two minutes.
This was a no for me but maybe I’ll try it again some other time.
And just a side note: I think you should test out Sensual Instinct from Montale and really let it sit in and play around with it. That fragrance is a beast ! Smells like princess jasmine if she were real.

@@thesimplechiclife it’s another fragrance that has a bit of BR540 DNA. It’s definitely got Montale DNA but then also some 540 DNA. It was a bit too heavy to me but I do think it’s nice. Tried it on skin at Bloomingdales last month.
@@CutieRingoJoy absolutely I'm a natural over sprayer :) and most reviewers will say the same thing as I do. There are some on TH-cam that couldn't even smell it very well to begin with. Everyone perceives perfumes differently too so that should also be taken into consideration. I always trust what most people say.
I totally agree regarding the flimsy packaging, I had the exact same thoughts when I unboxed mine. It looks beautiful from afar and on camera but in person, it’s just a plastic and cheap. I love Cloud and REM, but the packaging really brings the quality down.
I don't care. I throw the packing out. It's the juice that counts.
This scent reminds me of the original Abercrombie perfume. Not even sure they have the same notes- just give me the same type of vibe!

I waited 2 moths it’s not sold out and I am so exited to get it for Christmas I only have cloud and moonlight and I love both.I smelled rem onces and I am in love thank you not regretting my decision to buy it for Christmas

My fave from her collection is REM but many people would suggest Cloud. For dessert, I’d say cloud!:)

I think you hit the nail on the head...she is a huge celebrity and her audience is a younger crowd. Thus the packaging makes perfect sense 😊. Great for the teen kiddos. That being said, I have to give it to her because her scents also appeal to us!🤣. May not be our favorites but we're clearly buying them. I have Cloud. I took the bottle out of the "cloud," and I do like the way it smells. It definitely isn't Chanel but I think it's nice. Thanks for the review 😊. Been waiting for your thoughts on this one😊

It’s like coffee break without the coffee but also a younger more gourmand vibe as well:) but I love it!

So for the packaging she was just relating her Break Free music video to the fragrance. There’s no deep meaning behind it. And it’s called R.E.M. because that’s actually one of her songs on her Sweetener album. Again no deep meaning behind it she just named it that because she simply likes that song. :)

REM, reminds me of valentino edt uomo for the men my boyfriend smelled like me 😂since he owns valentino uomo, rem is a perfume u should definitely not blind buy since it is very extremely masculine leaning in my opinion🤷🏻♀️

Hi there! I suppose these days anything can be unisex and if I smelled this on a man.. his skin, not his clothing - but the skin.. I’d think it smelled really salty and delicious. But I think it definitely leans more feminine:)

Who cares about the bottle
Ariana is copying Chanel's bottle design. I don't like her fragrances. I wonder why you mentioned the plastic lid since Chanel, Narciso, Parfums de Marly all use plastic lids. Personally this crystal design is beautiful but I don't like the fragrance. This is by the way made for teens so you don't have to say it's juvenile. By the way...men love those young girly fragrances on women. My niece and I went shopping for her birthday and we were trying on fragrances for her gift and My husband couldn't believe how good I smelled and I had sprayed Ari by Ariana, her first fragrance on my arm. He loved it so much he bought be 2 bottles that night. He has no idea what perfumes are about. It's funny but men who are engineers don't know a thing about perfumes. I wonder if it's because he didn't smell the scent right after spraying but that it developed over an hour or so. Men hate smelling perfumes right after spraying because they're strong and pungent at first. Never judge a perfume on first spray within the first 5 minutes.
