You should definitely regrade that reverse charzard
@@wojo9732 Thanks for clearing that up, no one could've possibly known what he meant without your correction! 😮
Now send them in a second time and see how many come back the same grade
I know someone from PSA, trust me they’ll mostly get the same grades
@@nickmilewski1204there have been so many examples where thats not tha case....
Tbh the best way is to sell them all at a card con. Youll get to keep a bigger amout of that 670 compared to selling on the internet unless its all one big sale. At a card con if they arent trying to buy yours to resell then you could get the best comp price like 90-95%
Selling through TCGplayer I netted $220 after shipping and fees on a $260 item, which is 85%. A lot of vendors only offer 80-85% at shows
You’re getting 80% at a show if you’re lucky and depending on cards. I sell regularly on eBay and tcgplayer. eBay is like 12% and it’s 2024 there’s no reason to be eating 100% shipping costs as a seller
Company: *uses random number picker from Google search*
no they dont, whatever is worth the most money they will give the lowest rating so you dont make money
Both y'all are wrong, read the comment on the full vid. There's a dude named "Pokemon classics", read the comment.
I don't trust grading companies
You be surprised once you put a bright light and a magnify glass on a pack fresh card, especially Pokémon. Pokémon have some of the worst QC up there with sports cards.
@reivang7196 trusting random peolle u will never see that make probably 20/hr or less with ur cards that are worth thousands is just crazy imo. CRAZY I TELL YA!
this is what ruined the card industry for normal collectors and fans of the game
Can you explain why I’m genuinely curious how this ruins the game I guess I’m just not understanding but recently got back into the hobby
The obsession to collect and hoard cards and pay ridiculous prices for a piece of paper just makes the game lose its shine really
Fun fact, when I was like 8, I had one of those Pikachu cards. Great condition, but I needed a home for my McDonald's Pikachu toy, so I cut the card up and used it as a bed for him...
My mom got me a whole base set booster box for my 6th birthday in 1999, I was so excited when I picked it out. But before my birthday I got in huge trouble in school and my mom took the box away and didn't give it to me on my birthday. She still kept it to surprise me with later on, but right after my birthday my parents announced they were getting divorced, and somehow the booster box got lost during the chaos while my mom sister and I moved out of our house. So someone somewhere found a sealed base set box that was supposed to be mine!!! 😢😢😢 didn't even know she kept it until a couple years ago when I mentioned in passing just how much those boxes go for these days.
The grader was having a bad day and took it out on your grades I would definitely get them regraded
Someone tell me how a 10 is almost 2k but a 9 is barely 200
10 is perfect, 9 has some issues so a perfect card no blemishes are kinda difficult to get because even straight from the pack it could be off-center, scratched, corners damaged etc. It can also depend on which card it is, some cards (mostly older) only have 5 cards in a PSA10 but 300+ in a PSA9 so the PSA10 is going to be more valuable as there's only a few.
@@TRNRBubblebut also it has been documented that the EXACT SAME CARD that gets a PSA10 will get resent and get a PSA9.
Grading cards is arbitrary and PSA has been taking in cash hand over fist because they’re somewhat respected from legacy. Absurd
They really limit 10"s so prolly a few 10's in the world but a few hundred 9's. So all 10's hold A LOT more value as they should. Its a perfect card.
Sometimes cards are really hard to get 10’s. a lot of the time the price is dependant on how many exist in a that grade and not necessarily the grade itself. For example first gen Chansey is almost all holo and not much picture. Which led to a ton of fresh pulls with print lines in the foil. So very little chansey exist in a 10. But there are tons of 9’s and most fresh pulls are 9’s
Because they won't let you have the 10 in some cards lol. Rather it feels like population control or really hard grading, so when you do it, it goes up.
Also the cost of business. Getting the idea that Raw cards, fee, shipping, insurance. If 10's didn't offer a premium, their wouldn't be a market to make money in.
of course 200 vs 1k can be look at as absurd.
Perfect example is this video. He said after everything hes at $600, now he has to spend time selling 100 cards, 13% fees on each sale (shipping let the buyer take the hit) but then you overall is lower so thats a wash.
You lost another 100-200 there
I love your shirt!! 😍
I love your videos. Keep up the good work!
Psa is crazy when it comes to any cards in general but lately beckett has been number 1 in grading cards and there are companies out there that fix cards to get better grades so it would be a good thing to look into
Always look for a card shop in your local area, plenty of shops buy and trade.
Unfortunately most card shops will only give you about 50% of the card's value in cash. Then they turn around and list them online to sell at full price. I am good friends with a few card shop owners and they make the majority of their profit doing this. The margins on sealed product is really slim so they rely on buying/selling cards like these.
@@KingKong11730 just gotta see who you can get the highest percent from. eBay takes like 13-15%, another 2% if you do lowest promoted listing price. Shipping for these can range from 3-7$ plus the shipping materials. Plus that’s if you don’t keep getting undercut or undercutting someone else or willing to take a 5-10% off best offer..If a store gives you 60-70% value, you’re doing about the same or better depending on the factors above
Yea they buy and trade, but doesn’t make them good options. I have 1 store in a 30 mile radius that offers 50% on TRADE IN VALUE. There’s about 3 other stores I can go too and they’re all about 30-40% TRADE IN. Cash is basically a joke.
Finally a worthwhile Pokemon card video that isn't just openings... Start to finish prices and guides.
Ahhh, grading pokemon cards. The grest con.
I picked up three red cheek pikachus from a local card shop's common box for $0.25 a piece. One of them is a 1st edition. Best ROI I have ever had in Pokemon
People don't understand it's only worth that if someone is willing to buy it for that much which most people are not
@@austinschmidt8228 yeah but the person who thought it was worth that much already has so it is no longer worth that
@stevenstanaj9311 wrong, many people won't just buy one card to have it, they might have 10 of the exact same card just because. I'm not apokemon guy but in sports cards this is very common
@@brianatkinson8164i can confirm. more than one pokemon card is a thing.
Not only that but you're also paying for a membership to have your cards graded plus the grading and shipping.
You make them pay for shipping duh,and overcharge them ofc
If you sold them in lots you could make about 450 after fees in my opinion but it would definitely take longer to get rid of them because you'll get 6-10 lowballs before you find someone reasonable.
Note: I do this as a side hustle, not Pokémon exclusive, but go through a lot. Easy 10k a year if you know what to look for and if you can determine roughly what a card will grade before sending it in.
Him: "That would leave us with profit. But after costs...no profit" hahaha
I can’t believe those celebration Charizard are going for that much…. There are MILLIONS of them 😂
Like this dude are the reason why collecting cards sucks nowadays because they’re all about money rather than just having the collection
"Which would get eaten up... so i keep them :)"
Ty for saying the honest truth that the profit would totally get eaten up when you go to try to sell them 👏 👍🏻
its better to just sell them yourself. unless you sell the card for .01 cent but shipping is 200 dollars LOL. you win. tcgplayer gets fraction of penny LOL

birthday pikachu is my fav too.. bought it 20 years ago on ebay with 3 other promo cards for around 12 EUR. so happy.. :D
I was watching your short I was taking a swallow of Red Bull and when you said what up girl I then had to clean off the screen on my phone lol
Mercari has 0 seller fees, and buyers will usually spring for shipping, doesn't have the reach of eBay, but eBay's CS is notoriously mid to bad. Hope this helps the comment section lurkers, have a good day
I have 2 ancient mews. One is sealed in its original wrapper.
The older cards just slap different.
Pokémon card buyers have to be the biggest cope ever, legit grasping at air hoping something that already happened will happen again lmao, no one’s buying your cardboard for anything close to a good profit
These geniuses still count it as a profit when they pay 1k for a card and sell one for 1.2k thinking it’s the same as buying one for £5 or however much in a normal pack then finding out it’s Acc worth something. You just spent money on random boxes that aren’t gonna have shit and make you £10 profit lmao

Ooo. I have a Japanese Lugia, I need to get it graded.
Guy doesn’t realise that 5s can be higher priced than 10s depending on the card because there is collectors that want all grades on a card
@@ChadRaush yes because lower grades are rarer to find mate and harder to get too
I was just joking about ripping a psa 10 in half. It was a joke not literal@@ChadRaush
Wow someone actually being honest with what they would end up with after selling
PSA is so inconsistent. They need better training or start explaining the reasons behind grades.
are the cards registrated somehow ? if not i would just send a 8 or 9 card again to PSA hoping for a 10 😅
Guaranteed they come back completely different the second/third time
Honestly, it often feels pretty rigged, like look at how many "cheap" cards get a ten but for expensive ones they are suddenly super tedious just as some are just without reason graded super low
PSA is so inconsistent. Idk why they get so much praise.
News flash: There really is no money in Pokemon cards.
They are fun to collect but the grind is too crazy if you really want to get into it.
Reason zard got a 9 is probably something that is beyond the naked eye meaning a scope is needed to see surface area. Even a slight miscut on the edge can cause a 9 grade it all rides on who the grader is and the attention to detail given as well as their interpretation of the grading scale. One grader’s eyes see a 9 where the next grader could justify a 10.
The one thing they never tell you is the cost to get them graded.
Cool, but where's the chia pet dude?
Grading is such a scummy. That one video where a HC collector tried non-stop to get a grade 10 on a charizard, only to have an influencer send the same card and get the 10 grade
Sell them in person, no fees, no shipping.
The grades are notoriously arbitrary. Get those good ones regraded
eBay fees are horrendous.
The grades on cards has been abysmal lately, it’s like they don’t give out 10s anymore
Remember in the UK of you’re trading Pokémon cards for cash you might be liable to pay your taxes and HMRC wants to know how much you earned, exactly.
They like giving the more valuable cards bad scores so you’ll try and grade them again makes them more money. I have a huge collection and never sent anything for grading. I have thought about it at some points, but just seems like a scam
Dint forget the TIME it takes for this to sell on ebay... People want 10s, and if they don't, they're looking to pay as little as possible for a non-10.
At least that's how it works with comics lol.
This is what happened when you don’t inspect you’re card before you aimlessly sent them in for grading
How much did it cost to get them graded?
how much did you invest to get them graded?
Charlie not realising the power he has, watch Magic cards skyrocket in prices now
The only ones who really make a profit with these cards are the grading companies
id never trust the grading companies, the fact they upped the rating of logan pauls card just because it was him when the original owner tried to get it graded multiple times and it always came back grades lower is my main reason
I'm noticing these rating companies don't give out many 10's on the really good cards any more I wonder if thts about thier ecomy more then the actual cards
Yeah its the economy around the cards and less the cards themselves. PSA 10 charizard was worth a lot but more and more PSA 10 worthy ones have been found which tanks the price of the rest, so most of those get listed at 7-9 to protect the market.
The price difference from a 9 to 10 is crazy to me
The Pokémon card market is getting over saturated so I assume they are going to give lover grades to keep the Pokémon market from getting filled with 10 tier cards🙃
I wouldn't give you a dollar for the whole set 😂
I'm convinced PSA just wingin it
This in a loot crate would be cool
Pretty much my results. Anything vintage I've graded came back straight 6s. Best hits are also a 7 japanese lugia and an 8 neo revelations celebi. It's only with modern stuff have I gotten tens.
I'm sure it's just luck if you get a 10, because most of the cards conditions are damn near the same
This is probably why my buddy wouldn't give me numbers when I asked him about it.
Thanks for sharing! I don’t do the cards only Pokémon go was still nice to see though ever wondered how much mobile accounts go for?!
I really need to go through my parents loft
Graders should be forced to treat them like they diamonds with grading sheets
PSA is the biggest scam around. Why the F- anyone pays to get crap graded is insane.
Why would you be the one paying for shipping? That'd be stupid of you if u (the seller) paid the shipping! 🤦♂️🤣
Question? Did you clean the older cards or any of them before you sent them in? Only asking because PSA is known for grading older cards tough because of them not being very clean. I even did a little test and sent in my old og Venusaur from base set without cleaning got a 7 and then cleaning it and resgrading and it got a 9. They really hit u bad if they aren’t clean.
Same goes for checking surface front and back. Buddy of mine knows nothing about grading and just sent cards in, then he was shocked when he got low grades. He asked me to look and see why and under normal light with no magnification I could see surface scratches everywhere.
Also, minus the money you used to send them in to be graded.
This guy would make more money investing all this time and effort in a regular 9 to 5 job.
Ending statement is a great reason to hold on to them... FOREVER!!!
I had my cards graded and total came to about 2k and I decided to take them to a card show in Manchester and sold the whole collection for just under 5k. Dont trust these graders at all.
You always risk when you send your cards in for grading… it’s worth it if you hit enough high grades but most of the time you’re spending a stupid amount just to get the things graded!
Grading is just gambling on top of gambling at this point. Ya'll are tripping 😂😂
How much did it cost to get graded?
If your not satisfied with the grade, just re grade it until you get the grade you want. Trust me it works. Its such a subjective process.
That’s why it’s bad to trust PSA with Pokemon cards. AGS is the perfect place you shoulda sent them to. At least the AI woulda gave you way better grades than a 4. That Venusaur shoulda been a solid 8 or 9.
As an ebay seller i wouldnt base value off of auctions....buyers are generally pretty cheap lol
I miss when these people were actually fans of pokemon and not just out to make a quick buck.
Lol my ancient mew looks like i used it to get food out from in between my teeth and used it to scratch my back, those are definitely nice
Probably best to sell at conventions since its usually a smaller fee for booths
(They don't grade the charizards as ten in the hopes you sell them to them, always regrade if you think you got shafted)
bad news, they take your 10s and return you random 7-9s, but hey, GL with hustle.
Remember these are all theoretical values you still have to find someone willing to spend 4k on cards
Haven't rating institutions been proven to be a scam that just inflates the prices of items that people who are already resellers invest into?
Like most resellers already have stakes in those companies.
I feel like grading with psa is a 50/50 on whether they take it seriously
I am convinced he is the mask guy
Best way is to trade as many of them for a single more desirable card and if you decide to sell it later on It be easier to deal with
Card grading is the ultimate scam.
That’s why I always buy what I want graded already
I knew someone who had a mint un-opened, untouched and sealed (OCD person, usually bought 2, did it to alot of their collectables) SNES game, the only time i would have seen air in 30 years since it was picked up at the store, was at its grading. It got a 7/10. When queried, the corners of the box were "frayed", and by frayed, you needed a microscope to see that the corners of the box were not glued (or the glue had faded/deteriorated) and tiny tiny flaps had formed.
It was sealed for over 30 years. How can you grade something higher that has been sat in a dusty attic for 2 decades.
Fuck grading companies, plenty of evidence and testing that its all a rigged scam for the companies.
if box is slightly damaged; the product inside is mint. id sell it as mint. screw what the number says.
Dude, PSA is pay to play. It's very hard to get 10s unless you're paying PSA loads of cash every year. Mostly high volume dealers can pull 10s all day
Why would anyone waste their money on a scam grading company. Multiple videos showing how you can manipulate those companies to get an easy 10
Which is why graded cards are a scam. If you can manipulate the process to get 10s then it loses value
Youre obviously just sending in cards. Cards need to have serious flaws to get a 4...so youre not looking at them before sending to psa.
Truth. Also lots of people don't realize the back matters too. The hard one to check for most is surface.
Guys consistently getting 10s are are coaching and using high magnification to inspect our pervade their cards
