I would leave the trees on top of your hutch - add lights and more garland and voila you have a beautiful forest scene. You can also add lights and garland up above your kitchen cabinetry, it always looks elegant and really adds to the creative eye line.
Definitely keep the trees on the top of the cabinet. The different heights of them are perfect there. Love, the pencil trees in the urns. Always love your Christmas decorating videos.
Pro tip! Take PHOTOS on your phone after everything is set up and you’ve had a chance to tweak and move stuff around a bit. That way for the following year when it’s time to go shopping or come up with ideas on what to change out or replace, you’ve got a good frame of reference to check. It’s much easier if it’s on your phone, so while you’re standing in the middle of the store, you can reference back past themes and colors. This has worked perfectly for me for the last five to six years. Also helps you to be able to save money if you can see “you’ve already got one of those” etc.

Michelle, your decorating skills are always so professional and beautiful. I haven't had a Christmas tree in 18 years and decided this was the year to get one. I was so excited! What a fiasco it turned out to be though! In September I got a jump on them and bought one with over 1000 lights at Walmart, came home, assembled it and think the wrong tree was boxed (too bare and with a plastic stand, not at all what the box photo showed or stated). So the next day boxed it back up, returned it and went to Hobby Lobby. Bought one, assembled it and realized the lights seemed to just be only on the outer edges and at home it looked black. Boxed it back up, returned it and went to Home Depot. Bought the one you have in your kid's playroom except a slim. Assembled it and realized a branch was missing a screw and it wouldn't stay up. Boxed it back up, returned to Home Depot quickly since I knew they only had 3 left and by the next day (weekend) knew they'd be gone. All this was done in ONE day with the exception of purchasing the Walmart one. I cannot believe I hauled, assembled and disassembled so many trees by myself. I have to say though, this tree is beautiful! It wasn't too heavy to manage by myself, the branches are soft plastic so no scratches on my arms, there's no fluffing at all (you just untie the bundled sections and they fall into place, it has over 1000 lights with 9 functions and a remote. When it came to decorating though I just couldn't seem to get it right. I watched your old videos, but I was all thumbs. I must have deconstructed the decor 5 times to start over. I think I finally got it right though and using copper, gold and ivory colors to coordinate with my livingroom colors. For all the effort, I think I'll keep it up through January (minus the ornaments) and to make up for 18 years lost! 😅 It has brought me alot of joy. It is beautiful. I really don't know why I waited so long.

Michelle, been watching you for several years now, and always look forward to your seasonal decorating videos! Your new home is beautiful. Great choices made in the kitchen btw, all those extra personal finishes you made came out awesome. For the pencil trees; as someone who’s a long time crafter- you don’t need to only use foam in the pots. You can almost use literally anything that you have that you can spare in there. So for example: stuff plastic grocery bags down inside it, or moss, or old cleaning rags, or extra fabric you have laying around. In my house I go outside and pick up some larger stones in my front yard (we have them around the base of our trees) and put those down inside the pot for stability. You could use old shoes, or bits of 2x4” wood laying around in your garage. Pretty much anything you can take and stuff down (pack down tightly) inside and around the trees will work. You don’t want those things falling over onto your kids or pets. In my house with four kids someone WILL knock things over. If it’s possible, it will happen over here. 😂 Anyhow, love all your stuff. You’ve given me great ideas over the years and I actually bought those twinkly lights you use on all your trees, and love them too!

Last year we bought sets of plain wooden craft nutcrackers. And I used spray paint to make the rose gold to match my daughter’s bedroom. I think this year I’ll be stay painting them with a hammered gold spray paint as her room is now a modern Victorian style.

I love how the fun tree turned out! I just got the Home Depot viral tree today! I wanted it last year and it sold out, and I went this year about a week ago and it was sold out, but they told me they were gonna get some more back in today so I went today and couldn’t find it. But when we asked about it, they said they had one in stock that they were hiding out in the garden center, and that I could have it! LOL I am so happy to have gotten it. It’s such a beautiful tree for such a great price.!🎄❤️🎄❤️🎄❤️

To help candles stay in place you can purchase a wax that is used for that. Put it in the bottom of candles and stick in the holder and they stay straight. Also I saw you trying to put the pencil trees in the pots. There is a can of stuff that you that fills out an area like that and you stick the base of the tree in it. I saw it on another decorating show but I can’t remember the name.
