I see coach Jeannie Carmichael out there with her stopwatch gettin after Haiden's lap logs and just you, the team, Duffe, The StarYamaha! You've put the absolute best situation in your son's hands and the kid is straight rippin his part like the next Goat! Aj's reaction to Haiden on track walk when Haiden said he doesn't get tired or arm pump... was hilarious... I wish I could have met you guys at Tampa... Maybe Daytona... Congrats to Hailie and Haiden both killin it lately!✌😎
Your family is fun to watch and reminds me of growing up in a motocross family. I grew up in Sioux City, IA and my dad operated the local Kawasaki dealership. Yankton, SD was our main track, but we also raced at Ft Calhoun pretty often.
@BrianGeneral38, Will Haiden’s next race be on 2/25/23: at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX? I watch him race live via the Peacock app which is so surreal seeing him on TV, then I watch your TH-cam behind the scene videos which are awesome footage!
The advantage Haiden Deegan had was being able to ride everyday at home growing up. There were always dirt tracks out back. He always had new bikes to ride. That is how he learned so much, so quick. He never wasted was was given to him. So his talent at his young age is the difference compared to most who didn't have all those things. You can't Fault Brian Deegan for making his money working hard and then giving all those things to his kids. Like Brian says, Go work hard and do it yourself too.
It was definitely an advantage to him because of how he worked for it, but still you give the same thing to 100 kids and 99 would be nothing more than weekend warriors. If he didn't have the drive and desire to be where he is now, then he would've been a normal kid instead of grinding his whole life to make it as a pro
100% anyone talking shit against this FACT is a just a fan boy. Deegan doesn’t impress me at all because he’s a born and bred racer with the best of the best bikes and mechanics and trainers his ENTIRE life. He’s been able to develop faster than anyone else in the sport due to his advantages no weekend warriors will ever touch his level without first earning a career and paying for bikes and trainers. It’s absolute stupidity how people drool over this like it’s suppose to be impressive… it’s like cherry picking fights for a boxer to build a perfect record or unnecessary hype. We know he’s fast great he should be wtf… just like Malcom Stewart but no one’s sucking his dick this hard 🤦🏻♂️ I agree with you bro!
Agree man. People use the argument that he was handed every resource possible and he was, but he put the work in with those resources to a level that most wouldn't. Look at how many sx riders were raised in a similar environment and fell off because they got distracted and didn't put the work in. He will be a big figure in coming years.
8:59 AJ's reaction was exactly how I was feeling. I've been following Haiden since he was on 50s, and the one thing I've always noticed is how well he handles pressure. I could see it ever since he was a little kid. At big amateur events, which are often pressure packed, you could see it in his face, eyes, and body language ---- he was always chilled and relaxed. That is not easy, and doesn't come naturally to everybody. That's an intangible that you either have or you don't, and he's got it. That alone is a huge part of getting him to where he is today.
Yes if he makes a mistake he uses it to push himself harder and I believe that's honestly what's made him so good now.hes got that never quit attitude and that is going to pay off in the future
I've followed Deegan for several years and i can tell you his main motivation is Racing. He is a racer and that's what racers do. I would even say it's something you are born with...you can see it in his eyes right before a start... putting in the work during the week gives him the mental strength to push the outside noise aside and focus just on what really matters right now. He rides light on the pegs just like RC and knows all about "the flow" and how to find it and stay in it (see the heat race win). I'm betting he wins a main this year .
The part that impressed me the most is that if he gets a bad start or crashes he doesn't give up . He will race his butt off till the end and the lap times are usually faster at the end of the races .
Very true and he's a quick learner.i think as time goes by we will see him pick up little tricks that the Lawrence boys and others do and try them and it's only going to make him better.
Haiden (who has won many races) will continue being a winner for many years. What impresses me most is he is a good person and a great example to young kids.
Love this podcast. The greatest level of success come being great at the categories OUTSIDE the ones that directly impact what you are trying to succeed at. Doesn't mean the things like speed and technique are not needed, its just that other ones help build and amplify the ones that directly impact the needed ones. Business, Sports, life...
Haiden learns really quick to,he's a really good student of the sport.when his dad or his coach/trainer tell him something he's so good at pulling it oof and then repeating it and then grooving it.very smart student of learning the ropes of every phase of racing and practicing it. I think he's able to watch the Lawrence boys and other top riders and go out and try it and pull it off.He seems to be a natural yet he's worked so hard every single day practicing at very different tracks including sand which can be very tricky as we've all seen. Brian and his trainer are really doing a great job getting him in those situations he needs to be practicing for the different tracks he's going to be racing now that he's gone pro. I'm really excited for Haiden and the whole Deegan family Love watching Hailie race trucks to but wish she had better luck. The nascar demons won't get off her case like Daytona already this season. She was running up front doing great and first stage ends and she's back in the field and sure as hell is hot she ends up in someone else's disaster and out of it she goes and she was so dejected and I don't blame her New team new everything and the damn demons followed her. Something has got to give. Its like brainless Democrats are stalking her every move 🙄 😂😅
Thank you guys I appreciate your honesty and input and agree with you 100% I remember watching Haiden’s helmet GoPro race videos on the 85 seem like hours at a time as he ran them and was impressed completely then and now totally blown away, thanks again for keeping it real. Looking forward to more of your videos

Hey AJ could you take a few minute to explain/ compare what cocky, confident should be? When you do bad its cocky and when you do good its confident? Is it related to succes, effort or results? Im comfused what midset is good and what is wrong.
Also the way I look at it, if you gave 10 kids what Haiden had, the bikes, the tracks, all of it, there would be 9 of them who didn't go pro. Having all those things doesn't make a difference if they don't want it bad enough. Haiden just happened to have the drive and decided at a young age this is what he wanted to do. Most kids wouldn't give up partying and girls to focus on being as good as they can be on a dirt bike
Name them I’ll wait… because from the looks of it the only ones on top ever are the ones with the best bikes the best trainers and the access and ability to ride daily which no one but those few who are at the top had access to… so no you’re wrong. No one with that much support and money and guidance fucks up. At least not people with a brain people like J law have no brains. You need both to be a champion brains and all the money you don’t have backing you up.
Great discussion! Haiden really seems like a good kid and I love seeing him do so well. Was it just me though or was AJ saying "motor" cross throughout the show?
Regardless of how good you are, how good people say you are, and/or your results show you are. There is still room to be better. Unlimited upwards. There is no "Top".
Deegan is fast! I raced for about 13 years. In fact I raced when Brian was racing and still maintain my own property/track for some riders to use. Many know of the location on the east coast. I will say one thing. Been around this sport since I was 8 years old and even some older Pro's like Gary Bailey and others have mentioned how disciplined and how good Haiden truly is. In fact the more people like #COOKSEY who are obsessed with Haiden make him even faster. Haiden is doing well, and will go Far. This sport needs a new level.
Cooksey is just butthurt that the industry doesn’t take him serious or give him any respect and credibility the way like a Gypsy Tales gets. He uses controversial hot takes to get his name out there, and if he used sound logic instead of using a 17 year old for the last 3 years as clickbait he just might have saved what dignity he had left. It’s been painfully obvious that Haiden is on the Jett Lawerence trajectory, I mean they’re using the same blueprint, raised right, keep the family around, and have a work ethic that nobody can take away from you
I am enjoying that you are just honest, not just a jet and hunter fan club. I am very excited for the Lawrence vs deegan battle over the next 10 years. I think this will be the reed vs rc vs Stewart of this generation
Haiden is very exciting to watch race. Love your podcast and your insight on racing and riders. It's crazy to think that Haiden has only been on the 250 for 1 and a half years he learns super fast it's crazy to watch
Use code MOTOFREE to try the app free for your first month 😁 Watch as many episodes as you can in that month. Don’t tell anyone we gave you that code 🤫😂
What i have a hard time understanding about the east west shootout is how it effects the points of just 1 coast.you have some riders battling for points and doesnt effect the other if they get points or not.PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND
Haiden deegan is a born winner !! He was bread to be a champion hes nvr lost .. even this year if it ended right now he still way way outclassed 99% of his competition only one to beat him is the top of the top
I like how he's always started tight to the inside, has always used gates 1-4, amateur and pro. Decent jump, good power, lightweight and the turn down tight and under, his starts come naturally, and I'm betting they get better and more consistent.
I’m a big fan of Haiden and think he will continue to do great. But I think it is important to remember how many factory guys are out for the east coast before they ever dropped the gate. I’d say there are probably 2 maybe 3 guys I think would probably beat him right now. So realistically I think he’s about 6-7 fastest. still very impressive for his age and being his first year
I agree with AJ as well he will handle the bad races just fine. Look back at ironman last year, first pro race, crashed in both Motos didn't have a very good day and if didn't bother him a bit. All he really said about the crash was "man I felt like I was gaining on those guys until I threw it away." Then next week gets a top 10 and had some good battles, did what he wanted to do and learned from it to get better
It is all about putting the work and learn from your mistakes always stay positive and move ahead never look back!! Haiden will not really care if he does not get forth he was surprised he did!! Like he said he is out there to learn and if he gets 4th he gets forth if he gets 8th he gets 8th, it is about putting in the laps and taking the gate drops!! And his fitness and hard work is what has him 3rd in points! Nothing is handed to ya in SX it is earned!
The argument about Haiden having everything given to him is blown out of the water by looking at Hudson. Hudson doesn’t have the drive and work ethic that Haiden did/does. Same family, some opportunities, but way different results.
East coast he is a 4 th place guy Tripple crown he is 7th to 8th.. So the next tripple crown will be an eye opener for him.....racing all the good guys.... But he is doing very well...
I myself was a smart crasher back in my day😂 or just lucky You would be surprised how many thoughts go through your Head in them split seconds just before you hit the ground I got good at Carrying a conversational with myself before hitting the ground 😂
Big thank's AJ for this discussion for Haiden #238DEEGAN.You are whith this guys and you see what is doing bro. Thank's for this MAJ for Haiden because he have mutch haiters and that's no cool buddy.Well thank's for this vidéo and hope the Best for the next of your sx season dude. (Sorry for my bad English Ianguage I m.a french guy).Mutch support for your academy!Bye.😉🇨🇵👍👏🤙
Your Right you can’t give someone The talent or skill to ride MotoCross you have to earn it and work hard at it and Haiden Deegan has worked hard to get where he is and I wish him the best always #HaidenDeegan #DangerBoyDeegan #TheDeegans
The second Haiden slacked off or told his dad he didn't want it I'm sure Brian would have pulled the plug. Hard work and discipline ALWAYS pays off. RC showed everyone the path. Only a few will see it and follow through.
I am so sick of people saying it’s daddy’s money that’s got Haiden where he is Its BS Haiden has natural talent Plus he works hard ! Haiden either running bicycling or riding training on his bike and he listens
If there was ever a sport where it doesn't matter what you've been "given"... it's moto/super cross. Lets be honest - we all know certain riders will be fast no matter what equipment they are on.
any one who makes the main is fast maybe next year if he does not get hurt.not that you want to see anyone get hurt how many times has ac beat cooper webb since going pro?
I see what he's saying but you can't just say he'll never get hurt because he "crashes with technique" or whatever. Like when Tomac crashed, if he hadn't of hit that tuff block he would have been hurt bad most likely. Crashing gracefully can only go so far, hopefully Haiden can keep it on two wheels and finish the whole East season.
Deegan has the expectation to win which would come with twice the pressure. I think he has the harder path cause as soon as he has a bad week all the haters will be like I told you so blah blah blah. Most want to see him fail the kid lives in a pressure cooker. I hope he continues to stick it to the haters cause money doesn't buy hard work. He did all that himself
My biggest question is how can you teach people how to ride when you can barely make an LCQ no I don’t mean that ugly. I’m just curious were you taught something because you have a lot of amazing ways to look at the track and figure it out
If you watch the clip where his sister tells him because you won that race don’t think that you’re not going enough and think you have to be on top for the ppl just race your race
Don’t get me wrong he got 4th and that’s awesome… but he was 15-20sec back of the top 3… the tracks were very basic also. They haven’t had a tech track like Oakland. I see top 5 but a win is far fetch… he gotta best Hunter
You can't buy talent, you want to be Michelangelo, go buy the paint and the brushes, the best canvases, but you can't buy the talent to put it to the canvas
I would argue speed does have something to do with it. Hear me out. You’re arguing that Deegans mindset and relationship with failure and progression is what sets them apart, or, sets them up for success. But you also say that the Lawrence brothers have the same too. So then what happens? If two mindsets and approaches are similarly matched I feel like speed for sure becomes a factor.
Maybe. He’s young. Let’s see if he can handle the pressure. Immature youngsters tend to be very aggressive and good I might add. But without discipline, they’ll break.
You'll never hear any of the best riders say they're at their best, even someone like James Stewart, he was blessed with talent but he still always felt he needed to get better. That's what it takes to keep being at the top level of the sport
Nothing fazes him cameras, lights, the pressure, the racing, crashes nothing get back on and ride. I thought it would take a year as a pro to get to the front due to age. By the time he catches up physically watch out.
Yea if having everything given to you meant everything then his lil brother would be dominating the amateur ranks now. Yet he can’t even make the mains! Haiden works his ass off!
Talent = time practiced… In the beginning, some people are more natural at it than others, but the guy who puts the most effort typically has the most “talent”.
AJ and I both know dozens of people with Deegans exact opportunity who never did anything in the sport. Regardless of what you have, you have to put in the work. You can’t buy that. The kid was prepping his own tracks to put in 30’s before school at 9-10 years old and on. That’s pure desire. They don’t sell that folks, sorry.
Maybe in the East. But he isn't winning if he was in the West. He's definitely got the it factor, but the East is filled with rookies, and good riders are out. Half the riders were down one lap.
Haiden was given a trampoline in his backyard. That is how he was able to tuck and roll out of his practice crash. Just another privileged advantange....... LOL
Why don't you make main events? You jump the obstacles... but tbh... you seem to be too focused on your technique more than you are at going fast. You don't make the most of your downsides by pumping them... you don't optimize your speed through corners.. you definitely lose a lot of time in those two areas... If I were going to invest in your coaching... I'd be more inclined when you start qualifying and improving in areas you very well can. So you get a little forearm pump? Train a little smarter and relax on your grip... Either way... you're far from old... always remember John Dowd who did better later in his career... he got a late start racing too... you seem healthy... but you seem to accept where you're at with it... so if you are ok with being ok rather than your best... well that's on you mate! You got two of the best in the sport to learn from... you should be qualifying to be taken serious... lets see what you do rest of year... get after it Aj! ✌😎
Hes the fastest rider on the track, he just dont believe it yet. Fastest corner speed, he can holeshot, whoop speed is equal if not faster, jumped lowest last race. Hunter will stuff him , the switch will be flipped and your mind will be blown how fast he really is.
You can't buy talent! People need to stop with excuses. He is not a average person. If you genetically don't have the talent .. the physical atributes... the mental attributes... no amount of money or training will net you his results. Yes those things those resources money provided deffinetly help. The work ethic instilled apon him deffinetly helps.. but if he didn't have the genetics for it.. it would not matter. We can't all be athletes.. we can't all be astronauts.. or brain surgeon.. if it's not on your cards it's not in your cards.
Until he can run consistently with the likes of Hunter, Deegan will have doubters. Yes the kid has potential and the sky is the limit, but the conversation is always about the potential here. The problem is at the moment is the reality is he's still over a second a lap off the pace. I think we should all shelve the Deegan conversation for a minute, let him grow and develope and when his pace catches upto the potential then start having the conversation of if he can win once he dose that then talk about if he can be champion. People are losing there shit over him winning a heat race but "so what" in respect to the big picture and this is why. Look at Hunter gets buried in the pack in both races yet wins the one that actually counts! Why? Becuase he knows that, that's where it counts. Having a night/season ending crash in a heat race is just stupid. He was fast enough to get a decent gate pick no more no less. No champion has ever been crowned off of heat race wins, harsh but true. Will he gain confidence from that absolutely he will, and hats off for that but keeping it in prospective is important too
Everyone has chances out riding to be winning/learning as long has they have a bike to ride. You might get given easier than others but you still have to have guts to pull the throttle open in hard circumstances for duration against others. Everyone learning crashes and it shows you that pros have same mistakes. That's why we ride. If it wasn't a thrill and dangerous why would we. Avagud1
Yeah nah, dont want to hear any BS about him or he's Father, Once a cheat always a cheat, Not even going to watch it, keep that up and I wont watch your channel at all

Such a good analysis AJ. Plenty of Deegan haters out there but same with Jett and Hunter. All three are going to do great things. 🇺🇸🇦🇺

I like how he's always started tight to the inside, has always used gates 1-4, amateur and pro. Decent jump, good power, lightweight and the turn down tight and under, his starts come naturally, and I'm betting they get better and more consistent.
Super interesting ! I love the talk! Hard work pays off! Hate the sin not the sinner! Can’t wait to see what happens next. Go danger boy!
🎯
Christian Craig is also amazed by how the Deegan Family operates
East coast he is a 4 th place guy
Tripple crown he is 7th to 8th..
So the next tripple crown will be an eye opener for him.....racing all the good guys....
But he is doing very well...
Anyone who knows motocross knows that his situation growing up doesn’t make a shit. Dude is good. Plain and simple.
Great podcast well done very professional
I think he does super well in the shorter triple crown!
I myself was a smart crasher back in my day😂 or just lucky You would be surprised how many thoughts go through your Head in them split seconds just before you hit the ground I got good at Carrying a conversational with myself before hitting the ground 😂
Best show I've seen from this guy.
If it was that simple and easy Huck would be dominating as well
Facts. Haters would not acknowledge this.
I am so sick of people saying it’s daddy’s money that’s got Haiden where he is
Its BS Haiden has natural talent Plus he works hard ! Haiden either running bicycling or riding training on his bike and he listens
7:36 facts!!
No doubt, no major injuries, He will be unbelievable
The bad race was the supercross futures race. Qualifying at Tampa was not the best either and he rebounded with the heat win.
... and he's VERY consistent with every lap ...
Really good stuff AJ 👍🏽
I caught myself rooting for deegan over hunter for a second at tampa.
Even TOMACS like that
If there was ever a sport where it doesn't matter what you've been "given"... it's moto/super cross.
How come Haiden Deegan did not race in Oakland yesterday?
West Coast
Deegan has the expectation to win which would come with twice the pressure. I think he has the harder path cause as soon as he has a bad week all the haters will be like I told you so blah blah blah. Most want to see him fail the kid lives in a pressure cooker. I hope he continues to stick it to the haters cause money doesn't buy hard work. He did all that himself
My biggest question is how can you teach people how to ride when you can barely make an LCQ no I don’t mean that ugly. I’m just curious were you taught something because you have a lot of amazing ways to look at the track and figure it out
Does that say sick fu*k films on the neon sign lol
Get Cameraman Cam some MotoAcademy apparel to wear in these podcasts. 👕🧢👍🏻
Ride on.👍
Young Deegan is shovin it down they’re throats ..
Some of that smart crashing comes from Haiden riding BMX for years growing up. A lot of people don't know but Haiden is sick on a BMX bike
He gets sick on BMX bikes?
He is? Is there footage? I've seen him just boo around but nothing sick
Haiden has done it right . He is here to stay .
It’s like the Mike alessi with a better support group around
I would argue speed does have something to do with it.
Hear me out.
You’re arguing that Deegans mindset and relationship with failure and progression is what sets them apart, or, sets them up for success. But you also say that the Lawrence brothers have the same too.
So then what happens? If two mindsets and approaches are similarly matched I feel like speed for sure becomes a factor.
Did aj just say 1/2 second faster than me
Maybe. He’s young. Let’s see if he can handle the pressure. Immature youngsters tend to be very aggressive and good I might add. But without discipline, they’ll break.
Sounds like you haven’t paid much attention to the kid
@@jamesoso259 thanks.
Haters gonna hate.
@@sparky4772 not hating. He’s good.
Only his isn’t riding like a youngster, he is riding smart.
You'll never hear any of the best riders say they're at their best, even someone like James Stewart, he was blessed with talent but he still always felt he needed to get better. That's what it takes to keep being at the top level of the sport
i feel like haidens haters actually fuel him in some ways, too prove that he belongs at the top
Nothing fazes him cameras, lights, the pressure, the racing, crashes nothing get back on and ride. I thought it would take a year as a pro to get to the front due to age. By the time he catches up physically watch out.
You cant fake it till ya make it in motocross Look at how many racers that have never won a heat race .Deegan is legit
How do you not believe in talent? Clearly there are some guys with more talent than others.
Justin Hill has more talent than half the guys in front of him lol.
Yea if having everything given to you meant everything then his lil brother would be dominating the amateur ranks now. Yet he can’t even make the mains! Haiden works his ass off!
Talent = time practiced…
In the beginning, some people are more natural at it than others, but the guy who puts the most effort typically has the most “talent”.
It's a lot more than dozens
@@zee.___moose941 yes…it is lol me n Aj are from the same area…saying we both personally know ppl with haidens “advantages” that went nowhere
❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏
🔥🤙🏁
Maybe in the East. But he isn't winning if he was in the West. He's definitely got the it factor, but the East is filled with rookies, and good riders are out. Half the riders were down one lap.
FAIL= First Attempt In Learning.
Why isn't Hudson Deegan winning races if money and fame made Haiden become the rider he is today? 😂
You can have everything handed to you, but if you don’t have the talent and the drive, you won’t succeed.
HE will probably be a one HIT wonder like DAD
Haiden was given a trampoline in his backyard. That is how he was able to tuck and roll out of his practice crash. Just another privileged advantange....... LOL
It's called bought talent.
Will he gain confidence from that absolutely he will, and hats off for that but keeping it in prospective is important too
The dude in glasses adds no value to this podcast whatsoever
Everyone has chances out riding to be winning/learning as long has they have a bike to ride. You might get given easier than others but you still have to have guts to pull the throttle open in hard circumstances for duration against others. Everyone learning crashes and it shows you that pros have same mistakes. That's why we ride. If it wasn't a thrill and dangerous why would we. Avagud1
Yeah nah, dont want to hear any BS about him or he's Father, Once a cheat always a cheat, Not even going to watch it, keep that up and I wont watch your channel at all
