Thanks for sharing. Love the tank and good luck tomorrow! So many questions but just a quick one at the moment. You mentioned the turf scrubber and seemed like you are saying it’s mainly for nitrates as well as some phosphates. I’m fairly new to the hobby and totally new to the filtration side of the hobby, but have been digging into it. I’ve been trying to decide between a refugium with chaeto and possibly another macroalgae vs. trying a turf scrubber. I was sort of under the impression that macroalgaes soak up more nitrates whereas turf scrubbers would be heavier phosphate removers. Maybe both lean much heavier towards nitrate remover. Any advice on refugium vs turf scrubber and whether there is much difference in nitrate vs phosphate removal would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Well, thank you! Both will suck up some phosphates and nitrates, but not as much as we would like. The best way to go is prevention. Be careful and watch what you are doing that's adding phosphates to the tank. Don't over feed. Make sure your rodi is running 0.00 tds. Etc. An algae scrubber is just easier to take care of. A refugium can get to be a pain in the ass and ends up getting loaded with pests.
@@billssaltwaterheaven Thanks for the advice. I know there are size of tank and turf scrubber variables, but since you got your algae turf scrubber up and running, have you needed to use something like GFO or Lanthium Chloride to control phosphates? Do you happen to recall?
@timjohnson3913 GFO, I will never use. It strips out the Trace elements, too. My phosphate runs 0.30, nitrates 20. I honestly do not worry about them at all.
Hey, I just drilled and put in a 1 and a half inch bulkhead on each side of the sump a few inches up from the bottom and connected them with a union. That way, you will even the water in both sumps. You can see it in the video towards the end when I mention the Acropower.
Beautiful setup! I like your approach to accommodate a mixed reef. I ended up going full SPS as I struggled to find the right balance in mine. This video gave me some ideas, thank you.
Wow 🤩. Nice equipment. Subscribed!
Thanks for the sub!
Now this is a tank to aspire to have in the future. 🎉
Well thank you. I really appreciate that!
Gorgeous build! What a collection of coral and fish!!! Just subed
I appreciate that! Thank you for the nice comments.
Hey Bill, thanks for sharing! can you go through the ozone process you currently have in place and how it’s being dispersed into the tank
Yes, absolutely
Amazing setup....
Glad you think so!
Great video! Definitely appreciate the walk through. Thanks for sharing 👌🔥💯✌️
Thanks for watching!
I really enjoyed this video! Thanks so much for putting this out there. Looking forward to the next video.
Well thank you! I honestly appreciate it!
@@billssaltwaterheaven You inspired me. I think I’ll put out a similar video 👍🏻🍺👊🏻
Lovely tank
Thank you!
Would love to hear how to run the tank and its parameters!
Maybe the next one. 🤔
I feel like I am going to learn a lot from you....And I also feel like I have no idea how most of that gets hooked up!
Baby steps., one thing at a time
Sweet 👍
Thank you!

Amazing! What are the dimensions of the tank?
Thabk you. It is 8ft long 4ft deep 30 inches high
Hey Bill, I'm looking to set up a 500gal that has to two sumps how did you plumb yours together?

Nice go Chiefs
In Pa hey Bill did you ever have a store ?
Hey, where in Pa., no, no store.
@@billssaltwaterheaven I am in Delaware County not to far from Air port
@robertvacchiano1136 oh ok, I'm in the Northeast.
Where are you
@@robertvacchiano1136 10 minutes north of Scranton
Saw the chiefs flag. Are you from around KC? Love the tank very impressive
I am not from KC. Pennsylvania here. I wish I lived closer! Lol Thank you for the compliment!
Looking good as always Bill. Do you plan on starting another tank up in the future? I know that 600 gallon keeps you plenty busy.
I don't think so.. lol But you never know. Thanks for the compliment!
Hiya Bill, what settings do you use for your MP40s and 60s, are they synced up or do they run on their own?
Hey, all of my pumps run on their own. I use the Reef Crest mode on all of them. That way, you constantly have different flows.
Beautiful system, thanks for shaing!
Appreciate that, thank you.
How about those Chiefs!!!❤
Great game!
Beautiful.
Thank you...
🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
Awesome seeing a system more complicated than mine. Amazing tank!
Glad you like it! Lol
LOL!

Well, thank you. Yea, it's definitely been challenging keeping a mix, I just love all coral. Lol. Good luck with your tank!
This is shaping up to be one of the greatest tanks Bill. Up there with the masters.
Thank you. Almost 27 years in the hobby!
Spectacular tank, congratulations.
Thank you very much!
Amazing as usual. Looks great!!
Thank you so much 😊
Beautiful!!
