Hi Sam! Yeah, it was folks like you, Rob and a handful of others who talked about absolutely adoring Nebraska that made me decide to finally check it out- better late than never, right? Take care! -R
So cool to see you discover the greatness of Bruce Springsteen's "Nebraska". I'm several years older than you are, so I've been on the Bruce bandwagon from the beginning. Nebraska is a unique album in his discography and gets better with every listen. Being more of a solo artist/singer-songwriter fan than a band person, two artists that I was late to the game on would be John Prine and Jason Isbell. Great topic, enjoyed the video.
Hey Rich! Yeh it’s interesting that I was SO late in ‘getting’ into Nebraska…I guess our tastes can sure change and grow as we get older 👍 Thx for weighing in on the video- it was fun to put together! Cheers-R
Hi Richard, great selection there! I was into all those bands by the age of 14 except wire. I was listening to pink flag on MP3 around the age of thirty, so that’s quite late. Nebraska is such a great album, but my personal favourite is the Seeger Sessions. Such a joyful piece of music. There’s loads of albums I came to… so again I’ll need to have a go at a video! Cheers, Jack
Hi Jack- thanks for commenting :) I'm not familiar with the Seeger Sessions so that sounds like something I should check out soon. I look forward to seeing your video response! It's all in good fun, right? Cheers-R
Hi Richard. I am kind of the same with Jefferson Airplane. I grew up on 80s stuff so in my household it was just Starship for the longest time. One band I was late to the draw is Pink Floyd... I still haven't listened to all of their albums...
Hey Darryl! Sounds like you and I are similar in the Pink Floyd department- I wasn't really "late" (I bought The Wall when it first came out, so...) but I also haven't heard all of their albums! Cheers- R
Hi Jack- HA! I did consider that when I was planning this video...so many in the VC are pretty young...to be honest, I can't imagine it's easy being new to the hobby now as the number of choices is absolutely overwhelming! Cheers- R
Yeh- I went backwards to eventually get to Airplane- some of Paul Kantner’s projects and Grace’s solo albums are interesting, too! I’m glad I finally got Nebraska…that really took too long 😬
I don't have ANY Iron Maiden, Dave- and I know they come up on the VC quite a lot. Maybe I should try some out as well (I'm guessing Number of the Beast would be the logical starting point...) Cheers! R
Hi Richard I was really late to Ween I was aware of then but never gave them a chance until my son got in to them I took him to Ween first concert , fan since then Chocolate and Cheese and The Mollusk are such good albums The Southpark concert with Primus , Matt and Trey at Red Rocks was so cool I was late to Galaxie but was right there for Luna Penthouse is an amazing album and this made me go seek out Galaxie and Damon & Naomi Phish : still not there I don’t know why on paper I should like these guys Because of my travels and life at the time I totally missed Britpop But the one band and album i am sorry to be late to is The Stone Roses ; Stone Roses I guess like everyone Nick Drake So sad his genius was not recognized in his lifetime Lana Del Rey It was not until Norman F**king Rockwell that i took he seriously She is so good Ok I think thats 5 ( maybe i did sneak in a few extra )
I was quite late to some of these as well now that I think about it (Ween, Lana del Rey, Stone Roses.... and yes, Phish doesn't do much for me either) Super selections! Thanks for checking out the channel! Cheers-R
Hey VinylRichie- Their 'Worst' album isn't the greatest for sure, but it's not a bad overview of JA...I finally caved and got their debut, Surrealistic Pillow, Baxters and a few others as well- thanks for checking in! -R
I was late to Wire too, but you got there before me. Galaxie 500 is cool, but I don't own anything by them. I love Pornography (it did seem odd to type that!).
Hi Brian- I think you'd really like Galaxie 500 and I'd suggest their "On Fire" album as a starting point....they're definitely 'different' for sure! Cheers-R
Great to see Nebraska, love those tunes. Happy birthday to him as well!

Hi Richard, interesting video, i am going to have to give this some thought.... Lloyd
Thanks for checking in! I look forward to seeing what you come up with! :) Cheers-R

Hi Rob- Nebraska is SUCH a stellar album; I remember that this was one that recently reignited your interest in Springsteen 👍 Thx for checking in! -R

Better late than never to JA. They are one of my favorites. Nebraska is a good album, but i only have it in cassette.
