Ha! Finally you got the 2 inch version! I just got mine a couple of days ago with the F7 and r9mm BNF. Gonna start flying it this weekend. Nice detailed review as always Andy :) You made a really good guide on using the CADDX Tarsier too! I was fiddling around trying to get wifi to turn on, sometimes it does sometimes it doesnt. Turns out you gotta turn off the recording first, thanks for that tip!
I have been binge-watching TH-cam in search of a slow-flying, stable hovering, HD filming mini whoop type drone, and this model checks all the boxes. I love the way it hovers nice and stable while recording such sharp HD video footage, with NO prop guards in sight even at the lowest camera angle setting of 5 degrees. This quad did so well gingerly tip-toeing amid that formidable arsenal of rock n'roll guitars you have amassed there. To be a fly on the all during those jam sessions.... I can see this little craft serving me very well as an airborne security camera that would enable me to very quickly check all around my property during short 4-minute reconnaissance sorties. If need be, footage from this drone could generate very clear mug-shots of the usual suspects, and of car plates, should they show up unannounced, for entry into my "pending" files. My mind is made up for sure. I will buy one of these superb designs, possibly along with a spare one for when motors inevitably start to fail. Thanks so much for a video that highlights the more sedate applications that I have in mind, rather than defaulting to the stock conveyor belt of freestyle acrobatic footage that is so common.

Very nice mate! So a question... I have already watched your video of the Ciniqueen and you seemed rather displeased with the camera set up but seemed quite happy with the camera on this one. I almost ready to pull the trigger on this one but would like to hear your thoughts if I may be so bold. Granted they are two different size birds but that is not a make or break situation for me but naturally I want good footy. The FPV footage was pretty darn good too! Can you adjust the camera tilt at all although you seemed to be cruising pretty fast at one point but not looking at the ground. Wow! I want one of these! Looks sensational. It is crazy we can get legit 4k footage on such a small platform now and it flies so well that it is safe to fly most anywhere. I think these whoops up to 3" are the future due to all the new drone regulations in the world. You can safely fly this inside or out and not break laws in most countries.
Awesome review Andy! Geprc definitely makes some quality products. My main 3” has the geprc sparrow frame. I’ve been flying the same frame over a year and a half and I can’t break it 🤣 I even went full throttle into a brick wall and all it did was scratch the aluminum haha.
Love Geprc, the camera is ok, i have a couple. I think 4k 30fps has too much motion blur. It will be better when you can get 4k 60 and are able to adjust your shutter speed. I built my own using the Geprc with 2.5" blades, can never get use to the 2". It flies great and I too would definitely recommend.

Hey Andy, just a quick update, i think i got a newer version of Caddx Tarsier with this drone. I didnt get the Caddx Remote and emailed geprc saying that why does the reviewers get the remote. They responded that earlier version of Caddx ship with remote, but later version it doesnt ship with the remote anymore. This would explain why my EIS worked right out of the box too.
@@AndyRCchannel man you are right!! I just tested it and the EIS makes the footage become super shaky when I flew it. Oh well I guess it's still being developed now :(

Great review. I am new to the hobby and looking for a 3" cinewhoop with HD camera and GoPro mount. I like the CinePro but can it take a GoPro hero 7? Is there any BNF you recommend or would it be better to build my own?
Hi Andy, it is me again, first of all just let you know that I have been able to substitute the motor successfully... as you suggested I did not change anything and the drone fly quite well... however, I have notice a bit of wobbling (isolation) in hard maneuver and sometimes it also has some glitches, for a second or so, it loose control by itself. I don't know if that happen to you as well. So my question are; first, the quad come set with dshot 300 and if I try to go higher (dshot 600 or up) the quad does not arm. Would you mind to tell me if it is possible and how to activate higher Dshot? (a reference to one of your video is good enough) second... I would like to try to move everything over a 3inch frame as here (Melbourne) when there is no wind it blows at 15/20 km/h.... in that case which motor can I choose without frying the esc (which is up to 35A if I am not wrong with a burst of 40/45A i got to check that) or killing too much the flight time? which battery would i have to use for that? Thank you very much for your time sometimes
Would you recommend it as a light Freestyle drone ? i was looking at getting my first "good" drone and got the Tyro79 before [with a very broken fc] i just started in Accro mode and was normally looking at the cygnet that isnt available anymore to do beginning light freestyle [as visible on my channel] . Got offered the cinepro instead of the cygnet ? Should i go for it ? Is it good for light freestyle ?

Andy do you have thoughts on the F4 v F7 version. I suspect the F4 would run cooler. Are there any big advantages to the F7? Thanks for a great review.
Its hard to comment not having it however i suspect the dual IMU is whats doing the magic. All F7s get hot. They are pushing the boundaries of what a processor can do without cooling or a heat sync. luckily airflow is our friend so once you know this information id go for the f7 all day.
Nice review Andy. Those Cygnet frames are awesome for HD cams, like you said that aluminium soaks up the vibrations nicely. I did wonder about how hot a dual gyro would get. Nice to see Geprc continuing the tradition of making actual fully working products. You have now made me want the Tarsier, but I know Runcam have to be doing something about this Caddx? Great detailed review as always man.
I don't know, while the video is very nice but without stabilization, it really takes away from the overall quality. Perhaps with some post image stabilization, it would be much more watchable but this somewhat defeats the purpose of the 4K video if you add post-processing to the picture. *Even a two-axis gimbal would be an awesome thing to add.* Great job and a tip of my hat to GepRC and thank you, Andy, for another great review. *GepRc is out with another winning entry and another step in the right direction.*
I think for me the impotant thing with this camera which i should have talked about more is its lower resolutions. Its a step up if you take the 1440p and dynamic stretch the footage. Hopefully bruce will get away with his video showing how to do that or you can watch joshes video.
Hello Andy, Im after either the CInepro 4k or CInequeen. My concern with the Pro 4k is - I presume it's noisier with smaller props and has less flight time, but it'll get through smaller gaps and has the f7 board. If it was your money which one and why? Thanks in advance
How are the cinepro and cinequeen different? Have you tried stabilizing the footage in premiere to get it more like the flow of a 5” with a GoPro? That’s always so smooth.
Hey Andy, got a question for you, you are the most experienced guy running one of these beauties, can you see running a 4S 850, its about 30 grams heavier than the 4S 650, but really does not seem that bad, yes I know grams weigh in lots , but lets say for argument, I was not interested in doing acro on the 850, just long duration cine shooting, with maybe some acro, do you think its possible or stupid.
I can vouch for the Advanced Pro and cygnet2 both make 2 year old quads seem like KK boards. Really well built and machined but screws need attention when new!
Finally got mine after ordering the Advanced version from BG via your link the day this video went up. Ended up cancelling and getting it from Geprc direct after 3 restock days went by (sorry about that). Anyway mine has come with 3.5.7 rather than 4.0.3, was wondering if you can drop a CLI dump of your one from 4.0.3 so I can look at the difference if I ever want to upgrade (if it stops raining I may even get to fly). Thanks for video aspec comparison.. Been trying to find better props.. so far stock (avan micro seems best) .. Going to mod cinepro to get some more power. Kwad is real heavy. 190grams with battery. Also I think mine needs a better tune. get prop wash and vibration sometimes.
Is there a difference to the F4 - what do you think - shall I just try it out with your F7-CLI? I have also the F7, can you say something to the Motor Stop which does not work in spite of the Betaflight settings? Great little Quad.
How do you feel the fpv feed compares to something like the Caddx Ratel or Runcam Micro Eagle? I ditched my turtle V2 because it felt cloudy compared to my other cameras. The color was nice, but I just couldn't see clearly. I now have a Ratel in its place. But until I have a recording solution that can record at goggle quality, I guess I'm stuck still wanting HD cameras,...
This looks excellent. I want to build a new 3in with the Tarsier, and for the winter, I might get something like this to fly indoors! The only gripe with the Tarsier is that you need a smart phone to configure it, which I don't have. I suppose I could borrow one, though - how often do you feel the need to switch settings?

Andy last question for a while... sorry to bother again... I have noticed betaflight would allow me to flash up to the 4.2.9 firmware version of the FC, but at the geprc website i can just find the CLI up to (to my understanding) 4.1.1. It may be a stupid question but would you flash the FC with the 4.2.9 and than use the CLI 4.1.1 or is better to flash the 4.1.1 on the FC?
Hi Andy, I’m currently doing a build with the same camera and flight stack and was wondering if you could show me how they have connected the camera to the FC/VTX as I am a little confused on what the proper wiring is.

Thanks for excellent review. I like GepRC CinePro very much. But what about FC overheating? It is big problem? If the FC is lying on the table, I can somehow cool the FC, but what if I crash, the battery stays connected and I won't be able to find CinePro for a longer time?
can the flight controller from this drone supply the dji unit? from what I see it has an output of only 5V, or I may need to power it directly from the battery?
Received my cinepro 4k with the f7 flight controller 2 days ago. When I plug in a battery . I only get 3 beeps . I also cannot connect betaflight or the Bheli configurator . Any suggestions? I own for other quads and they all connect fine. I tried reinstalling usb drivers etc.. Tried reseating the flight controller cables and inspected the ESC for bridged pads and it looks clean.

I thought the runcam hybrid was terrible. But the cinequeen is great. All depends if u wanna fly it indoors. Cinepro will fly indoors. Cinequeen is three inch.

for me its the lower latency that really makes this a game changer for flying indoors. no longer bashing into things with the slight delay.

Have you tried flying with eis though? I can select it and it changes the setting but it jumps up and down all over the place
I tried the shake test with my hand, compare it with EIS off. I have only tried hover test, I will update you again this weekend when I fly it.

So my question are; first, the quad come set with dshot 300 and if I try to go higher (dshot 600 or up) the quad does not arm. Would you mind to tell me if it is possible and how to activate higher Dshot? (a reference to one of your video is good enough)
second... I would like to try to move everything over a 3inch frame as here (Melbourne) when there is no wind it blows at 15/20 km/h.... in that case which motor can I choose without frying the esc (which is up to 35A if I am not wrong with a burst of 40/45A i got to check that) or killing too much the flight time? which battery would i have to use for that?

Would you recommend it as a light Freestyle drone ? i was looking at getting my first "good" drone and got the Tyro79 before [with a very broken fc] i just started in Accro mode and was normally looking at the cygnet that isnt available anymore to do beginning light freestyle [as visible on my channel] . Got offered the cinepro instead of the cygnet ? Should i go for it ? Is it good for light freestyle ?

Andy do you have thoughts on the F4 v F7 version. I suspect the F4 would run cooler. Are there any big advantages to the F7? Thanks for a great review.
Its hard to comment not having it however i suspect the dual IMU is whats doing the magic. All F7s get hot. They are pushing the boundaries of what a processor can do without cooling or a heat sync. luckily airflow is our friend so once you know this information id go for the f7 all day.
As far as I know..the F7 has 2 gyros and more UART ports which is not something I really need. I am sticking with the F4
F7 = no inversion problems for FrSky , which may save your sanity :-)
@@petermarshall2189 never had any probs with frsky on f3 or f4 boards.. and It didnt LOOK any more stable than other 3 inchers!

I don't know, while the video is very nice but without stabilization, it really takes away from the overall quality. Perhaps with some post image stabilization, it would be much more watchable but this somewhat defeats the purpose of the 4K video if you add post-processing to the picture. *Even a two-axis gimbal would be an awesome thing to add.* Great job and a tip of my hat to GepRC and thank you, Andy, for another great review. *GepRc is out with another winning entry and another step in the right direction.*
I think for me the impotant thing with this camera which i should have talked about more is its lower resolutions. Its a step up if you take the 1440p and dynamic stretch the footage. Hopefully bruce will get away with his video showing how to do that or you can watch joshes video.

Hello Andy, Im after either the CInepro 4k or CInequeen. My concern with the Pro 4k is - I presume it's noisier with smaller props and has less flight time, but it'll get through smaller gaps and has the f7 board. If it was your money which one and why? Thanks in advance

How are the cinepro and cinequeen different? Have you tried stabilizing the footage in premiere to get it more like the flow of a 5” with a GoPro? That’s always so smooth.
Cinequeen is three inch and other is 2 inch. The footage doesn't come out well using eis
Hey Andy, got a question for you, you are the most experienced guy running one of these beauties, can you see running a 4S 850, its about 30 grams heavier than the 4S 650, but really does not seem that bad, yes I know grams weigh in lots , but lets say for argument, I was not interested in doing acro on the 850, just long duration cine shooting, with maybe some acro, do you think its possible or stupid.
I can vouch for the Advanced Pro and cygnet2 both make 2 year old quads seem like KK boards. Really well built and machined but screws need attention when new!
Finally got mine after ordering the Advanced version from BG via your link the day this video went up. Ended up cancelling and getting it from Geprc direct after 3 restock days went by (sorry about that). Anyway mine has come with 3.5.7 rather than 4.0.3, was wondering if you can drop a CLI dump of your one from 4.0.3 so I can look at the difference if I ever want to upgrade (if it stops raining I may even get to fly). Thanks.

Nice video man! Did you noticed that DVR looks a bit strange? It is like if it missing FPS while moving, so image looks slightly blur when non static?

Been trying to find better props.. so far stock (avan micro seems best) .. Going to mod cinepro to get some more power. Kwad is real heavy. 190grams with battery. Also I think mine needs a better tune. get prop wash and vibration sometimes.
Is there a difference to the F4 - what do you think - shall I just try it out with your F7-CLI?
I have also the F7, can you say something to the Motor Stop which does not work in spite of the Betaflight settings?

How do you feel the fpv feed compares to something like the Caddx Ratel or Runcam Micro Eagle? I ditched my turtle V2 because it felt cloudy compared to my other cameras. The color was nice, but I just couldn't see clearly. I now have a Ratel in its place. But until I have a recording solution that can record at goggle quality, I guess I'm stuck still wanting HD cameras,...

This looks excellent. I want to build a new 3in with the Tarsier, and for the winter, I might get something like this to fly indoors! The only gripe with the Tarsier is that you need a smart phone to configure it, which I don't have. I suppose I could borrow one, though - how often do you feel the need to switch settings?

Andy last question for a while... sorry to bother again... I have noticed betaflight would allow me to flash up to the 4.2.9 firmware version of the FC, but at the geprc website i can just find the CLI up to (to my understanding) 4.1.1. It may be a stupid question but would you flash the FC with the 4.2.9 and than use the CLI 4.1.1 or is better to flash the 4.1.1 on the FC?
It's best to use the version it came with as it flies the best with that

But what about FC overheating? It is big problem? If the FC is lying on the table, I can somehow cool the FC, but what if I crash, the battery stays connected and I won't be able to find CinePro for a longer time?

You would need to power the DJI unit from the battery. Which I have done on my three inch with no issues

Received my cinepro 4k with the f7 flight controller 2 days ago. When I plug in a battery . I only get 3 beeps . I also cannot connect betaflight or the Bheli configurator . Any suggestions? I own for other quads and they all connect fine. I tried reinstalling usb drivers etc.. Tried reseating the flight controller cables and inspected the ESC for bridged pads and it looks clean.

I thought the runcam hybrid was terrible. But the cinequeen is great. All depends if u wanna fly it indoors. Cinepro will fly indoors. Cinequeen is three inch.
