To add to your comment, the through-hole for the dowel should be set back slightly on the tenon, so that the dowel (or peg) pulls the joint really tight. A pegged mortise and tenon doesn't even need glue.
Very skilful but you are reinventing the wheel a mortise and tenon with a dowel inserted in it will never come apart.
