I don't know if its the accurate term, but I think technically that thing from Season 2 that was on board the sleeper ship was one of the "dark servants" of the shadows. It means a little bit more than just Ranger One (but we won't find that out any time soon), but in this case yes, they're just calling him by his title of Ranger One in Minbari.
Anlashok’Na is Ranger One. Marcus told us that Isil’Zha is the future so one can assume Entil’Zha has deeper meaning. Based on that, can we assume Z’ha’Dum means future’s end, assuming Zha and Z’ha are the same word?

Servants/dark minions: think Orcs, Nazgul, fallen wizards and black numenoreans, barbarian lords, dragons, etc. Lots of different kinds for different jobs.
It didn't occur to me until you were talking about the shadows minions. "War without End." Even after a side is defeated there are always those who think the losere were on to something and only if *they* had been in charge it might have gone differently. So shadow minions, could be lesser races we haven't seen on screen or portions of races who think maybe the shadows had the right idea and continue that ideology. We see it enough here, how many people still say the south will rise again or think the Nazis just went to far or not far enough. War without End, the next wars roots so often have taken root in the last war.

Never tried the syncing - if you're not in the US, depending on the source, you may find yourself getting ahead of the video as I think most of Europe does 25fps (50hz AC grid) while the US does 24fps (60hz AC grid). Some US actors really hated how they sounded on UK TV in their shows because it raised the pitch of their voice a touch! Hopefully people in the Patreon have encountered and solved the issue

And as a Centauri we of course will get to whisper behind their back in the spoilers-allowed chamber that they don't have access to. Looking forward to trying it all out ....
always loved your reaction regarding Zathras, and to be honest I forgot how humorous he is. Just want to answer you one thing and I don’t think this is a spoiler as has been indicated a few times: the Shadows have minions that have been awake while they are sleeping and basically being caretakers, which is why in the timeline, even before the Shadows were supposedly awoken by the Icarus exploration crew, there was a ship that dig up the one on Mars. One of this races, which are probably minions not allies, appeared to do those horrible implants in Ship of Tears. Hope this clears things up for future discussion and i hope this comment is acceptable
How is it a continuity error? Vorlons travel...and it's been said that original Kosh was in and out of the station regularly. What's to say that New Kosh didn't go to B5..get set up..and then went to Minbar to be there for Sinclair's leaving. There's nothing about it that can't be -easily- handwaved away.
That was the obvious continuity error (assuming they are the same Vorlon) but there are some more subtle continuity errors that we will see if they identify either now or in the next couple of episodes.
Are you guys talking about the Vorlon who spoke with Rathenn about Sinclair? I always just assumed it was some other Vorlon who hangs out on Minbar since it's an important place in the scheme of things.
Who are these minions and dark servants? Amazing after 30 years and several watches over the years I just realized another little tidbit I never noticed before until watching this stream / podcast. We have technically met at least two of those minions already in a former episode. One was obvious and the other I just noticed. Food for thought for B5FTST.
do make sure not to confuse the shadow fighters (seen multiple times all the way back to when G'kar went to Z'ha'dum - and yes he actually named it as such) as "minions.. THey are vessels, not actual minions.
@@Nikioko nope. Good guess tho. What those two specifically mean is... Not explicitly explained in dialog. But (I'm trying not to be spoilery here) if there's another Minbari word with that syllable in it that we've already heard, which comes with a translation, it's not a stretch to figure out these two.
@@Nikioko Where’s the spoiler. This shot is getting ridiculous. I’m referring to stated dialog from Marcus and making a supposition based on it, hence the question mark. You made a guess about the root meaning of Z’ha’Dum which I believe is incorrect and you don’t see me having a fit. Neither comment is a spoiler because they are both guesses that are not confirmed.
I would say, Londo has become emperor. But emperor of a destroyed world. Maybe a puppet of the Shadows, because he served so well? This is definitely a punishment. This Londo becoming emperor thing reminds me of some ancient Greek oracles.
If I remember correctly, the originally ending of this was when Londo showed Sheridan what has happening on Centauri. Am I the only one who remember it that way?
That was how I remembered it, but I'm willing to admit I could have been wrong. Certainly, I think ending there makes it more of a cliffhanger than the "get to work" ending, but I don't make those calls.
those are actually shadow fighters with the bomb, as we already saw. The "Allies" aren't ever specifically identified, so you can't actually try to make such a link. It could refer to the "Soldier of Darkness" revealed in The Long Dark; it could refer to the Streib (captured Sheridan), it could refer to the alien surgeons seen in Ship of Tears. Or an as-yet unidentified species. Or it could be all of them.
Yes. Babylon 1, 2 and 3 were sabotaged and blown up. But their debris was used as material for subsequent stations. But since Babylon 4 wasn't blown up but vanished into thin air, there was no material to be re-used. Therefore, Babylon 5 had to be shrunk in size by 1/3, due to limited resources.
I promise you, even if we watched it “in the right order,” there’s absolutely NOTHING to clarify what’s going on with this Vorlon or the other one. It’s a bad argument to use.
I don't recall if it was already revealed (or if this is a minor spoiler) but at one point Delenn DOES explain that the Shadows (no matter HOW powerful they are) could NOT do all the things they did without the help of servant races! "Some serving loyally out of FEAR of the Shadows power, others, because they 'believed' or had something to GAIN." "Lesser spoiler" (bigger than a 'minor spoiler' but still very small) - we WILL get to see some of these Shadow servants down the line. (come to think of it, we already have! in Ship of Tears? and another episode, I believe)
I always thought the end/interlude of this episode was a real let down. Just a throwaway line and the two characters walking down a generic corridor. It definitely feels like a single episode that was padded out and then cut right in the middle, which is particularly egregious given the amount of stock footage re-use from Season 1. It is a good episode overall, it's just the pacing could have been a lot better.
I think the use of Flashbacks was due in part for viewers who found the series in seasons 2 or 3. Those people never saw season 1 due to no way to see it.
Would you have preferred they end it in the Throne Room? It is a better hook but these shows had very specific run times so something would need to be inserted to push that scene back and then something would have to be removed from Part 2.
@@sdfried4877 I say, nothing wrong with that is there? They could also be used as time fillers. I just don't mind them being there. Especially for me because I never saw season 1 until the TNT rebroadcast. I found the show early in season 2.

I don't know if its the accurate term, but I think technically that thing from Season 2 that was on board the sleeper ship was one of the "dark servants" of the shadows. That's more open to interpretation, given how strong that thing was, to call it a "servant" when it felt more like a miniboss.
This is some of the peak of the show, in my view. So many wonderful things happen here.
There were a few mentions of various allies in S2, all going back to meet with the Shadows on their home front.
@@hornorsilk2901 Indeed, but that was the one singular example of us actually seeing one, and the other being in another episode we recently saw, but I won't say more because i know they want to save some of that for the rewatch.
@@OpenMawProductions oh, there was another we saw in S2.

I am looking forward to your speculations for part 2. 😆
Oh, and Entil'Zha just means Ranger One in Minbari.
It means a little bit more than just Ranger One (but we won't find that out any time soon), but in this case yes, they're just calling him by his title of Ranger One in Minbari.
Well, that's what the Minbari told Sinclair it meant!
Anlashok’Na is Ranger One.
Marcus told us that Isil’Zha is the future so one can assume Entil’Zha has deeper meaning.
Based on that, can we assume Z’ha’Dum means future’s end, assuming Zha and Z’ha are the same word?
Anlashok’Na I don't think is spoilery. Entil'Zha is a bit spoilery.

Some of the answers about the minons and dark servants are answered later but other parts are answered in the movies or spin-off seires (Crusade being the big one being the shows plot revolves around dealing with the aftermath of the actions of some of the minons in B5).
Sheridan's being unstuck in time is very similar to what happened to Kirk in the Tholian Web episode.

@@MrDdaland With the nature of how they go to analyse the episodes, I wonder if they may have tried to rush the part two. With the named two parters, if you try to analyse each episode separately you end up with weaker podcast episodes as the first one can't really be sure where things are going, and the second podcast episode has to recap old ground. It's different to say the trilogy of episodes where although there are some strong through lines from Message From Earth to Severed Dreams, each episode has enough plot that completes within the episode to still be viable for a podcast episode

That's the new Kosh. You found the continuity error you created by watching Walkabout first.
@@zarabada6125 Exactly
Are you guys talking about the Vorlon who spoke with Rathenn about Sinclair? I always just assumed it was some other Vorlon who hangs out on Minbar since it's an important place in the scheme of things.

Who are these minions and dark servants? Amazing after 30 years and several watches over the years I just realized another little tidbit I never noticed before until watching this stream / podcast. A connection between Z'ha dum and Entil Z'ha... Hmmm... Interesting theory. Have we heard any other Minbari words with that Z'ha syllable in them?
Z'ha obviously means “first”. Entil'Zha is Ranger One, and Z'ha'dum is the prime world of the Shadows.

Londo redemption over?
Stay tuned.
Good question, @hornorsilk2901! So, Brent, is Londo's redemption over?
We will never know for sure, but I guess it's joever.
I would say, Londo has become emperor. But emperor of a destroyed world. Maybe a puppet of the Shadows, because he served so well? This is definitely a punishment. This Londo becoming emperor thing reminds me of some ancient Greek oracles.

Your excitement in this episode pretty much mirrored mine when I saw this particular one as a kid and you ain't seen nothing yet.
If I remember correctly, the originally ending of this was when Londo showed Sheridan what has happening on Centauri. Am I the only one who remember it that way?
Nah that's how they ended the "previously on" in part 2. I've had the same experience, remembering it wrong, because of that.
That was how I remembered it, but I'm willing to admit I could have been wrong. Certainly, I think ending there makes it more of a cliffhanger than the "get to work" ending, but I don't make those calls.

Babylon 4 was much bigger than Babylon 5 and was mobile, not fixed in place like B5 is.

Bullseye
@@sdfried4877 absolutely!
