I read few comments about Mr Thapar being too soft in this interview. I believe he did this , so that he can cover all relevant topics and fish out some answers that are uncomfortable. I loved it.
Absolutely! Given modi and his ilk isn't too fond of honest questions one wouldn't be surprised that the interview would hv ended mid way had the questions gone too tough for his liking. Karan maintained a well thought balance.
Well i think he really missed some serious issues like high oil prices, stupid delhi politics even when supreme court had given its judgment, opening of sardaar sarovar dam which made about 32000 people/family (don't remember exact figures) homeless. Infact he himself was changing topics. I respect karan sir alot but this interview is sort of useless for me.

What an amazing interview! Thank you Mr. Thapar for asking such wonderfully constructed questions. Everything you asked is exactly how I felt as well but just wasn’t able to put it in words. I don’t dislike the BJP Govt. and in fact I at times even defend the actions of the central govt. and feel they are doing a good job. But the state govts, some of the MLAs, the statements they make, the way Sambit Patra speaks...all of it just puts a blanket on the good things being done by the central govt.
It was so nice to hear you ask questions as to why the central govt doesn’t speak up in a timely manner when the entire country, the same country that have Modiji the massive mandate, looks up to him to hear his views on the matter. Maybe Modiji doesn’t understand the importance of his opinion. His silence makes the people feel he supports the nonsense and that only makes some of these people follow the wrong path

We need more journalist like Mr. Thapar. Talking on the facts with tough and precise questions. A no rubbish interview, no yelling and blaming or posing self made opinions as decision.
Giving time to interviewee to answer and cross qustioning in tough and polite way. No doubt he agree not to work for media houses lobbying for different parties
And Mr. Gadkari as comfortable as ever, and understandably so, not going for some views which will bring unnecessary controversies to the table. No individual or institution can have flawless regime, but, irony is one can't accept it in public.

Journalism is not about hitting where it hurts its about truth. This man covered all the topics which were needed and got the answers without being hostile that's what I respect about him.

Sure, there are many issues with the BJP govt. but I've realized that the leftist parties bring up religion and caste much more frequently than the BJP, RSS or VHP. Even for 2019, they are promising a "secular" India where everyone is equal. But what the people need is development! 1.5 lakh people are killed on our roads every year , while less than 100 have been killed by the so-called gau-rakshaks and that too by the bottom scum of the society who aren't representative of the common folks. Normal people don't discriminate between Hindus, Muslims, and nonsense like. What they need is less headache in their lives because of govt and dignity of India in international fora. Leftist parties are promising that they'll make everyone equal but what they aren't telling you is that they'll make everyone equally poor. Besides, they have a sever leadership deficit. I wouldn't trust Rahul Gandhi with my house, let alone the country. On the other side, Mamata Bannerjee is a mini-dictator with no regard for institutions as we saw recently in local polls in WB.

At 7:08 Nitin ji said, "We are expecting the growth rate of 8%" and see he is right. The GDP growth rate for the first quarter (April - June) of fiscal year 2018-2019 came at 8.2% as per government data showed on today (Friday 31th, August)

Over a period of 14 years since 2004, especially when Manmohan Singh became PM of India as a figurehead (katputli), I have been observing the growing role of media (especially TV channels) in creating Public opinion in India, where almost all the anchors like Karan Thapar are self-professed experts who behave like lawyers and act like judges, without anyone in turn questioning their credentials.
Irony is Mr. Subramanian Swamy said exactly opposite than Nitin Gadkari. He said areas in which modiji doesn't know much he asks for recommendation and in which areas where he knows he doesn't listen much from others. Subramanian swamy also said that GDP's data was calculated using previous year's data that is so wrong. How can you misguide people using past data.
Dude i did not called Mr. Swamy idiot. he is next level person. I just quoted what mr. swamy said in the interview with the quint. you can check it out. All i wanted to show was, what nitin gadkari said about GDP was not some what true and subramanina swamy shed more light on that. and mr. swamy is the one who is opposing some dicisions of his own party. Why can't you take the different opinion of anyone else instead of checking it first ?
You can't just go by thoughts and even if I or someone else, who do not support the ideology of BJP , that doesn't imply that, that person can't express his/her views.
