    Someday... Someday that Eventide Space will be mine. And I'm really looking forward to that day. Your composition at the beginning was beautiful! That chord change at 44 seconds... damn.

      Hey, I don't know if you ever picked up the eventide space, but Eventide has a plug in called the blackhole which is a really nice reverb. The space pedal is most likely better, but the plug in might hold you over temporarily :D

    I just bought the Eventide Space today. I was watching a bunch of guitar reviews and then I found yours with the Korg Minilogue. That's more up my alley. I enjoy playing guitar, but I LOVE playing synthesizers/piano. :) Sam. Great video!

  • @saardean4481
    @saardean4481 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great pedal. Sweet sound. Am between this and the Bigsky. I must say that i can`t hear a difference big enough to make a decision. And still though i am a bit prejudiced cause i like the looks of the Bigsky better and this influences my hearing...:-) Can you tell me how much attenuation the Eventide offers? Am asking cause the Bigsky does only -3db? so it would be a bummer for me for Drone-isch things if i don`t have more freedom-buffer with attenuation. Btw the Minilogue has a mono output yet you go out of the Eventide with a L-R cable. Does it do some kind of "Stereo widening" ?

    • @EarmonkeyMusic
      @EarmonkeyMusic  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not know about the attenuation. I do know that Space has more effects parameters than the BigSky. The Space algorithms include things like pitchshifting, tremolo and chorus as well as the reverbs. I think the BigSky is probably a little more approchable, and more instantly accessible. The Space's different algorithms mean that depending on the setting, the knobs can behave differently. This does take some getting used to. As for the stereo, yes, the Minilogue was going mono in, but the reverbs and delays are stereo output so the more wet signal, the bigger the stereo effect.

    • @saardean4481
      @saardean4481 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see. Thank you for these points. Which one would you pick if you could only pick one. Primarily for use on synths but also hardware drum machines and in general let`s say as the most "high fidelity" . Your "go to" reverb. One of the two. Which one?

    • @EarmonkeyMusic
      @EarmonkeyMusic  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never used the Strymon. I'd probably choose Space again if I could get them for the same price. I'll give you another tip....Check out Valhalla plugins. They have great stuff. I use Shimmer and Ubermod, and I want the Vintage reverb as well. If you work in DAW environment, they're great and only about $50 each.

    • @maandalen
      @maandalen 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Go into edit mode and set the portamento time to "0" instead of "off". This completely removes the clicking as far as I can tell.

    Really been enjoying your stuff sir. In fact it inspired me to pick up a few new synths (including the Mother) and effects (including the Space and a Triple Delay ) to start getting more Ambient. From your experience with verbs and delays, layering on a couple of each, any hard learned preferences in terms of order in the chain? Again, beautiful stuff, thanks for sharing it.

    • @EarmonkeyMusic
      @EarmonkeyMusic  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Robert Holmes Glad you like the videos!. I keep my FX section pretty simple if I can. Most of my other videos I run synths straight into the Roland tape delay, then into Ableton where I add chorus and reverb after the delay. The Roland has chorus and reverb but they're mono so I like to add some subtle chorus and stereo reverb. The Space pedal, though, I use all on its own. There's so much going on that you don't want to lose the sound. I like playing this ambient stuff because I can just get lost in creating a mood and and sounds. The Mother is great for that, especially with the big modulated reverbs.
