But he equipped the van to live and run his business out of, which is extremely smart. When you consider the fact that a base model Tesla Model S costs around $90,000 (or any luxury vehicle for that matter) you are essentially paying comparable to the price of luxury vehicle, but you get SO MUCH more than just a fancy car. Not only that, but you are not saddled with a mortgage, and the buildout was all bought straight up. He likely just makes payments on the van monthly. He may have bought outright using money from his TH-cam channel, but his earnings are not my business. When you also see that the housing market is extremely dense, which drives up the cost by the day, you are saving yourself a pretty crazy amount of money in the long run, provided you have a way to make money while on the road. Whether that is social media influence (like most van-lifers) or you even work for a digital marketing firm remotely. Or something of that nature. Van life is an extremely smart decision, provided you plan it all out. It just seems like a dream lifestyle! Taking your pup out, and seeing the continent seems amazing! All this doesn’t even mention the fact that van-life reduces your carbon footprint IMMENSELY!

I'm an RV Technician and I work on motorhomes, vans, and travel trailers all day everyday. I've never really felt the need to build something for myself until I watched this video. Something about playing on the computer while out camping just seems like it would be the greatest feeling.
i’ve watched a good bit of van tours and this one by far takes the cake. the alternator charging the batteries as well as the solar panels, the doggy cage, the diesel heater, the little hole cut out to see how much water you have left. you thought of everything and did such a good job. this is what i’d want if i had a van house
I've seen a million DIY van build vids and this is one of the best floor plans I've seen. Love the open design. If you could somehow squeeze a wet bathroom in there, that would be awesome. Showering in winter will be a problem.
This guy and his brother really need there own company there gifted and having lived in a van for a couple years he seems to know the essentials what a legend what a worthy lifestyle I'm jealous !!!
I don't have a van but I just love watching what people create in small spaces that they are living in and I wanted to say this van build of yours is one of the nicestest I have seen and so well thought out. Pretty incredible setup you have created. The dark wood and cabinet details with the stencils and the cool hardware really makes the mood so chill. I have seen the dog bed done like this before but making a removable gate/door and having a fan in there is a whole new level of detail. Amazing work.

However when it's done, and I've worked a bit, I'm gonna convert my van. It's small and stuff but I'll make it workkk, then when I'm ready I'll buy a newer, larger van, and convert that to what I want! 😊🙏🏼
One thing I like about watching vanlife videos is the minimalism. No wasted space and clutter. It's easy to have clutter and stuff when you live in a house. Too much space.

Best design for quality living in compact RV. 3 burners so important and oven too, doesn't matter if you gamer or no - kitchen and space (like tables) are most important and big windows. Very nice and beautiful design
What a great setup. An awesome upgrade would be home automation/monitoring. Single panel tablet (probably battery, low powered) on the wall with battery levels, current draw, water level, thermostat etc. Automatic fan control and automatic shutdown of non essentials when battery is now. Day night sensors, even sunlight sensors. Amazing as is though!
It truly has everything I've ever needed and I've never been more comfortable in my entire life! If you do end up drawing some inspiration from my build, I'd LOVE to see what you do!!!

11:37 Something worth trying is a small carpet pinned by the desk that comes out a bit. Then getting a comfortable gaming chair and just simply don't put the wheels on it. You'll have to swivel in/out most likely but how often are you getting in/out of the chair as opposed to sitting in the chair? It looks like you'd have decent leg space to swivel without having to have the chair situated further back and then having to be pushed in after every use. If you ever did do this though, I would make sure the carpet just has the grippy texture to it that has "short hairs". The carpets that are really fuzzy, I imagine it would be a nightmare to get the dirt/sand/what have you- off of it when your boots or dog have been ontop of it. Great video and thanks for the ideas!

I LOVE the privacy wall part by the bed. I see so many open van designs and personally, I've always wanted a room with just a bed in it lol Would feel like a cozy little nook. Super neat build!
@@denisucuuu Not really. This one is way more practical from a functionality standpoint, as well as for maintenance/repair in the future. Many IG vanlife builds have more of the ivory tower feel, where they only look nice.
This is, hands down, my ultimate dream van. Came back to it tonight because while camping with family this past weekend we were talking about this being my retirement plan. Told them I'd link to the BEST setup for me when we got home. Even after 2 years of watching van vids, this is still my fave!

I bought mine a year ago and I am still working on building it out. I really appreciated that you showed the placement of your gas box. I see a lot of videos with propane stoves where they don't show the placement of the propane box, which frustrates me as I am still deciding where to put mine and I like to see what others have done. I am planning to watch your other videos. I am especially interested in electrical and internet as that is what I am working on next.

This is the dream! One of my biggest concerns was would I be able to game in a van. Imagine living in this setup, a new view every morning, bathing in lakes, lying on the bed whilst listening to the rain.
Can we get a cost breakdown video? Obviously the cost of the vehicle should be reasonably easy for any of us viewers to find (update* ~40 grand MSRP + tax title fees easy 45 grand + build ~15 grand???), but would be awesome to know your total investment. Also what about insurance, does anything cover you if you get in a serious accident? (beyond just the cost of the vehicle, is the 'build' covered at all?) Thanks for sharing!
Whenever you get car insurance they always ask about modifications, so you can make note of those since they would be additional cost when it come to accident repairs.
I’d avoid a van. Priusdwell/rav4 hybrid dwell. You’ll hate the attention it brings/expense/you won’t use most of the appliances. I had a 30 foot rv and was in bed 99% of the time, only used my fridge. Edit: also you will hate having to use the generator and constantly having to maintain the temperature and this is why I preferred a hybrid because of the temperature control that is found in a hybrid and is the singular most important feature in any mobile setup. A 2020+ rav4 hybrid provides 98% of the luxuries of a larger set up with more ability. Source: 8+ yrs 0 hookup mobile living.
I won’t lie, at first I was a bit judgmental; a cross between Johnny Depp and Chris Angel. But after watching this, you are pretty chill, and have made an awesome build. Good job.
Nice setup. However, I recommend changing to a similar capacity LiFePO4 Battery as fast as possible. They can be discharged fully unlike Lead Acid. Besides, they will also last for 25 to 30 years compared to others which last only for 10 years. Besides, they are not that expensive these days and come with internals as well as external BMS units.
So glad to see how you run a full PC in a van b/c I really want to do something like this someday, but don't wanna give up all my modern comforts. I love the darker colors in this van and how it's laid out. The puppy cave is so cute too! Basically you seem pretty cool and the van is awesome and it's nice to see someone that isn't full on woodsman/hippie in a van haha
what modern comforts will you be giving up on? with a big enough van you can have shower/ bathroom and A/c... what is there left that van cant do besides a house other then paying 1-2 k a year in property tax or rent etc.
This all looks really cool, and then I remember that I’m 6 ft 4 in and there’s no way I could even stand up straight in a camper van let alone sleep comfortably haha. Oh well.

This is hands down the best camper van set-up I've seen. I absolutely love it and I will probably copy it if I ever decide to get one of my own.
Same. It's the perfect floor plan for my needs. Only change I'd make is a bulkhead separating the driving area. Need better privacy and light black out than a curtain can provide.

Not really. This one is way more practical from a functionality standpoint, as well as for maintenance/repair in the future. Many IG vanlife builds have more of the ivory tower feel, where they only look nice.

I bought mine a year ago and I am still working on building it out. I really appreciated that you showed the placement of your gas box. I see a lot of videos with propane stoves where they don't show the placement of the propane box, which frustrates me as I am still deciding where to put mine and I like to see what others have done. I am planning to watch your other videos. I am especially interested in electrical and internet as that is what I am working on next.

This is the dream! One of my biggest concerns was would I be able to game in a van. Imagine living in this setup, a new view every morning, bathing in lakes, lying on the bed whilst listening to the rain.
Can we get a cost breakdown video? Obviously the cost of the vehicle should be reasonably easy for any of us viewers to find (update* ~40 grand MSRP + tax title fees easy 45 grand + build ~15 grand???), but would be awesome to know your total investment. Also what about insurance, does anything cover you if you get in a serious accident? (beyond just the cost of the vehicle, is the 'build' covered at all?) Thanks for sharing!
Whenever you get car insurance they always ask about modifications, so you can make note of those since they would be additional cost when it come to accident repairs.

I’d avoid a van. Priusdwell/rav4 hybrid dwell. You’ll hate the attention it brings/expense/you won’t use most of the appliances. I had a 30 foot rv and was in bed 99% of the time, only used my fridge.
Edit: also you will hate having to use the generator and constantly having to maintain the temperature and this is why I preferred a hybrid because of the temperature control that is found in a hybrid and is the singular most important feature in any mobile setup. A 2020+ rav4 hybrid provides 98% of the luxuries of a larger set up with more ability.

However, I recommend changing to a similar capacity LiFePO4 Battery as fast as possible. They can be discharged fully unlike Lead Acid. Besides, they will also last for 25 to 30 years compared to others which last only for 10 years. Besides, they are not that expensive these days and come with internals as well as external BMS units.

So glad to see how you run a full PC in a van b/c I really want to do something like this someday, but don't wanna give up all my modern comforts. I love the darker colors in this van and how it's laid out. The puppy cave is so cute too! Basically you seem pretty cool and the van is awesome and it's nice to see someone that isn't full on woodsman/hippie in a van haha
what modern comforts will you be giving up on? with a big enough van you can have shower/ bathroom and A/c... what is there left that van cant do besides a house other then paying 1-2 k a year in property tax or rent etc.

And I my friend had a revelation, VR setup to play outside of your van, put mounts for sensors on a van and one one some kind of stand and you have first vanlife VR setup in the world

@@itsbinxbro vrs dont really use sensors anymore uv only damages the lenses these days so should be fine if you just use a cover when its not on your face, id be more worried about tripping on a stick and faceplanting it into a rock
