Dude I miss naruto so so much! Every time I hear a song from naruto I just want to cry like ugh. I miss everything about naruto and I think I feel the same way as I don't want to let go of how naruto made me feel. I grew up with naruto and it's taught me so much. When I watch Boruto I just felt so lost. And everything they hit and naruto’s death so disappointed. Because I loved naruto and don't want to let it go I just find everything to hate about Baruto.

@ImZain well it's okay but it doesn't have that many good things to Praise it like people do with other animes. As example I understand people say that I like boruto. I enjoyed every bit of it. But things get salty fans say that I know this anime is good but I don't know why people are not praising it.

Ik man, sarada is the only one in boruto stretching and using her kekkei genkai to it's absolute limit. It'd be a shame if she got nerfed.
I thought they will make sarada like sasuke as a worthy main character but in the future, manga doesn't have anything for sarada.

Boruto and gang have had some WILD fights as of late👌. Oh and the kid with the Iron Sand is a BEAST!

Why does honest reviews on Boruto get so low in views but the hate videos and misinformation on the series gets so high? It's so baffling sometimes that great content creators like you can properly analyze the series to this much extent to the point I actually agree with the majority of the points that you gave off. Awesome work my friend! You got yourself a Subscriber. As a fan of Boruto, the series has gotten so much hate when it got announced, I'm just glad that more people are now starting to appreciate the material than just slandering it all the time.

I feel like once the anime catches up to where the Magna is now, a lot more people are either going to start liking it, or they're just going to hate on it for no real reason. Right now there are some power balancing issues, but the story isn't that bad.
The story is decent NOW but for 175 episodes it hasn’t been good except for ofc the momoshiki fight

Well it's not that we want to watch naruto... Even in naruto Universe... People who were at extreme levels,
you could feel the dominance in the air. For eg all the kages, akatsuki death level threat( itachi, obito, hidan and PAIN).
And now what we see naruto and sasuke nerfed so bad... That it just feel not sync with the story.
They could have easily avoided this, if the story would have taken place at some other village, with new characters and attach them with different personality. A small village where a group of young ninja aspiring to be like HOKAGE(naruto) and their journey how they struggle and find themselves developing.
And then the interaction between such high level ninja would suit the plot.
But this feels like a nepotism plot, where the hero has to be naruto son....
It took naruto and sasuke at their peak to fight off KAGUYA. And here we see this little brat fooling around.

Thank you for making this vide! I think that whoever HATED the series before can finally get a propper understanding of what boruto is suppose to be! It is a well written show and it has a slow proggression rate. It has a good balance between fights and fun moments!

Whatever anybody says, I’m just happy to watch the universe continue. No matter how good or bad it is. The most exciting part of Boruto for me is seeing all the old characters grown up. I think too many people think way too deeply about this stuff.
Or you know just let a series end rather then milking it... let creator work on something new & which I'm sure ** to delve into as a creator
@@ddlcp the creator worked on something new , it was called samurai 8 , it flopped badly no one even supported it got cancelled and now he has returned to Boruto only again , hope you knew about it before saying something stupid. Boruto is just completing the story that was introduced in Naruto shipudden and filling the plot holes.
@@terencedsouza2885 I don't really keep up with thing that often as I don't tend to fan over things & life gets in way of having fun so, I was expecting like any creator to delved into new project & further.... as that's how a creators life flows. So, I just had a quick browsed into it after your comment and it unfortunate but it seems he's pretty much stuck with unplanned project as of now, till its over. Lets hope he gets to work on something he's passionate about in near future & if doesn't work keep at it as that's just how life goes for creator.

I feel like naruto fans really I mean REALLY want to like boruto and read/watch it only for the old characters. Although there is not a right or wrong (well maybe there are wrong but I hope u get my point) reasons to read/watch anime and manga, I feel like that is not really why u should read/watch boruto. Its completely fine if that is your reasoning but I think u have to think about it a little bit and come to your own conclusion. For me, its not.

You are right and half of the audience still watch it for old generation but it's the show that is lame. Lot of fillers, useless canons, plot holes, plot Armor, power scaling , nerfing issue makes it pretty average. It's not the characters. Almost everyone likes sarada and mitsuki and Shinki but the show is bad.
Why wouldn't i want to watch my favourite show's next gen if it was good. I tried man, i tried to even skip and watch it but no it is so boring.

I think the problem lies in a fact that its just stretching something that's tried and done before from original creator itself or to simply put milking a series that doesn't need to be reason why half the audience still watch it for old generation from reason each to their own shouldn't 've been an issue. similar to how beginning of near end of Naruto shippuden went..

Oh boy i seriously hope he doesn't botch Saradas character; Kodachi handled Sarada amazingly even letting her have her own arc all to herself which is rare when it came to the naruto female characters so I really don't want Kishimoto to turn her into Sakura 2.0 because she's unironically my favorite character in the entire new generation

The bad thing about Boruto is the power scaling. Somehow everyone is stronger than Naruto & Sasuke without actual training/experience which is kinda boring.. I knew one day Boruto & Kawaki would surpass them and I don’t got a problem with that. But imagine if everyone in Naruto was on Hashirama & Madara’s level, there is literally no story to be told. These kids be fighting god level characters like it’s nothing

Now they are literally those 2 guys in Naruto, sure they can do a lot of jutsu’s but all of their jutsu’s are useless cause everyone in Boruto can absorb jutsu’s.

I’ve been watching Boruto for the past month and have been really enjoying the manga canon episodes. It’s really a story worthy of the Naruto title. So I was excited to see you have a video describing your thoughts on the show. Great vid. And I know you’ve moved on to new endeavours, but I’m still crossing my fingers that we’ll get a Great Shinobi 4th War breakdown followed by a Boruto: Naruto the Next Generation video. Wouldn’t that be amazing. The sad thing is you have some of the best Naruto videos on TH-cam which are highly underviewed. You should easily have 1mill views on each of your 2 Naruto breakdown videos. You’ve obviously put in the work and they’re that good. Just goes to show quality isn’t always recognized by the algorithm. It’s pretty lame. It must be pretty discouraging to put so much effort into to something and not get the recognition. Just know that those of us who watched those vids know how good they are.
Boruto shouldn't have included Naruto nor any characters from it. The problem with Boruto is how it destroys every plot point built up in Naruto. Boruto is just the Bad parts of Naruto Shippuden amped up all the way to 11

If They just made that tiny detail I think I would like it better It Also makes the story better and more mysterious because they could change things that happened in the past and Implement new things in a easier way without it messing with the original Naruto.

The reason why I hate boruto or the 1255 episodes I've seen is because IMO they treat the cast that I grew up with, like shit. They also seem like they got a hard nerf powers wise. Especially Naruto and Sasuke. The villains are c tier at best

I’d say Ao has Been the best villain so far. The conflict on how technology is used as a tool is pretty cool. Considering that one of the main themes of the original story was that Shinobi are tools but now shinobi are those who endure and how the aspect of tools have changed

I get how Boruto is not Naruto's story and that's cool because Naruto's story ended, but... I don't like Boruto's weak villains. I know it is ironic to call them weak since these are the strongest villains yet, especially with the whole alien things going on. When I call them weak I'm actually referring to their characters. My favourite villain is Madara Uchiha. He scared me and gave me literal chills when he dropped two massive meteors on the Shinobi Alliance. He deserved that power. He had hype, myths and legends surrounding his name, but most importantly was that he was so human and so very real. He had a real goal and purpose to serve as an antagonist. He rightfully earned that title.
Then we have Isshiki. I don't like how he comes out of nowhere and folds everyone and everything that comes before without doing shid. He is strong and evil because he wants power. Seriously, wtf? THAT'S HIS GOAL?!! That is some CARTOONISHLY EVIL villain type shid. That is the kind of evil villain i would expect to find on a Saturdsy morning kids show. He has no REAL goal. Having Madara fold Naruto and Sasuke feels right, but having Isshiki do it does not sit right with me. He honestly feels like a Mary Sue. He got shoehorned in with Kaguya and made stronger than her because plot and the whole Kaguya being the Ten Tails got retconned by him existing because (again) plot.
Zabuza, Haku, Pain, Obito and Madara felt so fcking right as villains. It was believable. The raw emotions and deep themes imbued within these characters is what I miss from Naruto villains. Even Orochimaru had a well developed and thought out reasoning behind him being a villain.
Isshiki just doesn't sit right with me. I'm sorry but I just feel really insulted by Boruto, especially after giving my time to watch 720 episodes worth of Naruto content. I watched 720 episodes because I love Naruto. I'm a huge fan and Isshiki disrespects me as a fan.

Boruto is gonna be one of the greatest series. People complain that Boruto has no resolution, no story and no pain. They think that Boruto is some happy slice of life anime even after watching the first scene in the first episode. The haters wanted pain and depth, They will get the pain and sadness. When that happens, the haters will change sides.
To be fair, the first 15 episodes were slice of life centric.

One of the big drawing points, mostly for Boruto's anime, is that return to simplicity. There was an appeal in getting to see the day-to-day life of the children of the leaf after spending literal irl years in the war arc that was the Naruto finale. it's just comfy at parts. The Boruto manga is great don't get me wrong but I actually enjoyed the arcs of the anime many refer to as filler
I would agree if the 'filler' episodes in question actually formed a coherent narrative of its own instead of just being isolated incidents. Even if it's just as simple as "hey kids, thanks for rescuing my cat the other day" (referencing the previous episode without it being because its an arc). A bit like what canon Bleach did with it's filler Bount Arc.
I liked episodes where Sarada researched the sharingan and some information was confidential, or when Boruto found out about Jiraiya because it actually connected to something we knew and showed us "hey, this is how [insert topic or person] interacts with this world a few years on".
My problem arises when episodes just focus on "stop bandit" "Seal hairpin memory demon" "help to cage wild birds" "find mad scientist" without actually bothering to link the episode topic to anything related to things we have been introduced to before or, heck, even just to other 'filler arcs'.
If you stage a filler arc in the sound village and show what certain events (the departure of orochimaru, the great war, ect) did to the place and how it has changed, I'm 100% in. If you give me an arc where the friend "we" made in a previous arc comes to live in the leaf and the episode is just spent catching up with them and showing them around, sign me up because my investment in a previous arc has come back to reward me with further payoffs! It shows me that the previous arc mattered and that I was right to care about what happened in it.
But I swear to Being X, if I get one more episode set in the Village Hidden in the Monkey's Left Bumcheek that focuses on how Oonga Boonga, the feudal caterpillar of the land, has a rash on his chin and needs a special ointment fetching before his wedding in 3 days, I'm gonna riot. Because I've never heard of this place before and I'm sure as hell never gonna hear of it again after this 20 minutes is over, yet the whole time this episode is trying to convince me that I should be invested in this, that a genuine bond formed between the characters and that they really will see each other again soon. Only.... wait..... next episode there's no mention of it at all and the kids are just playing Ninja cards? Huh.... its almost as if that 20 minutes of my life last week was rendered completely worthless.

My issue with Boruto is that they spent wayyyyy too long in the academy. And that all those academy students are stronger than your average chunin. Doesn't make sense, too much filler, and I don't want to deal with that again. I know that they're all genin now and we *finally* have Kawaki, but it's too late for me
the story makes sense, you just don't like it. later generations of humans are always better than the old ones. a lot of the episodes feel like fillers but they're essential for the development of the kids bc a peaceful world doesn't really allow for strong enemies to battle with. hopefully kawaki arc goes well and then people can pick up from there and skip the previous eps if they want.

@@thomaskretz7888 some of the kids are prodigies whose parents are top-level jonins too, plus the curriculum in the academy has changed and along with technology the progress is sped up even more. not everyone is as OP as u say, there's some weaker characters too. i think you're (probably unintentionally) cherry picking to make your point.

Thank you for this! A well-said review on Boruto unlike most people out there who have a really obvious and strong bias against it with practically no good reasons. I have to say tho Kishimoto coming back makes me nervous for the female characters but I think we'll get to see more serious action stuff soon (and better flashy fight scenes for Konohamaru pls because he keeps giving Boruto the spotlight 😂). I feel like Kodachi does a good job at developing main characters + writing lighthearted stories while Kishimoto is better with villains and action scenes.
People can wait 4 years for a season, but can't see some side-story ep. I like the reasoning.
There is a few problems with the notion this is a separate story: Chapter 700 of Naruto, was the final chapter of Naruto and it focused more on Boruto and the next gen, Naruto Gaiden that was officially made as chapters 701-710 of Narutos manga continued where chapter 700 left off and elaborated more on next gen characters like Sarada and Chocho, but it doesn't end there the anime final episode of Naruto aired and one week later Boruto started as if it's a direct continuation, this may be Boruto's story but he is hitching a ride on Naruto franchise success and have Naruto in it's title.
Unfortunately boruto just doesn't grab me like naruto did. And I feel Parr of that is the villians aren't as interesting as the old ones. Like I can't really remember boruto villians but I still remember and think about people like zabuza.
Am I the only one that likes Boruto as a character, he doesn’t have as much chakra as Naruto but makes up for it by using more then just two jutsu’s. And after he fights momoshiki he grows heavily, he gains a clear goal and respect for his father. But while Boruto doesn’t disregard Naruto anymore he still is trying to get out of his shadow. As the series goes on Boruto is gonna grow heavily and is going to lose that smile he shows every episode

I think Boruto as a protagonist was initially a bit of a sacrificial move from a narrative stance. That's both great and terrible. It's terrible because the people who don't want to suffer through 65 episodes of a whining protagonist stop watching the show and start dumping on it whenever its brought up as a topic. But it is fabulous in retrospect because, if you stick with it, you can look back after you hit episode 300 or something and appreciate his massive growth as a fighter and just general maturity like you mentioned.
(Haven't actually read up to an episode 300 equivalent, no manga spoils please!)
Personally, he's slowly growing on me now that he's beginning to understand Naruto and especially now that he has a friendly rivalry going on with Kawaki (as of episode 201).
It certainly helps that his growth as a person is no longer seemingly at a standstill due to crushing amounts of filler and "anime only" like it was from the episode 67- 140 range (rough estimate).

I was really upset that Naruto was ending and desperately wanted to hold onto it a bit longer , naturally i was excited yet scared about Boruto launch. I was excited to see Naruto being Hokage and Sasuke being part of Kohohagakure again but i really hated Boruto being a brat, it annoyed me that Sarada Uchiha wears eye glass. My blood was boiling when Boruto cheated which is soo unlike Naruto who alwaya preached about there being no shorcuts. But my heart melted when sasuke and Boruto ended up in the past and they both got to see how hard Naruto's life was , since then Boruto grew up and was able to connect with his father. Manga is obviously better than Anime. Kara organization seems bit like Akatsuki but not as badass. Even if this is Boruto's story, i am always rooting to see more of original Team 7 and other Naruto characters.

With naruto and Naruto Shippuden I went through like 10 to 20 episodes a day, Now I can Barly get throught 1 episode of Boruto.

One of the main issues I have with people not giving Boruto a shot, cause "the story was already finished", is cause that statement is wrong.
Boruto's story and villains were already forshadowed in the 4th ninja war. In the Kaguya arc you can literally see Kinchiki and Momoshiki plain as day. Its still the same show. Its still the same story. Its stiill the same world, evolving. If you dont like Boruto, you dont like Naruto. Simple as that. Same show.
Most haters just seem stuck in 2017, or simply dont wanna open their mind to Boruto possibly being worth watching and blindly hate.

I love One Piece too, but I still love Boruto more. The show is INSANE and Boruto has grown to be my favorite anime protagonist of all time after part 1's conclusion. I feel bad for the "fans" of Naruto not letting themselves experience the story they love evolve and become even better. And the reason is rumors, stigma and stubbornness. I have never talked to a person who viewed all of Boruto canon/read the manga that hates it. Everyone hating on it that I know havent even seen it, or just saw some minutes of the first episode and quit. Like damn. Use a few braincells at the very least.

You did a pretty good job. Honestly I don't get the hate but from my understanding people hate because it's not Naruto anymore. The whole Naruto as a struggling father I thought was nice as the duties of a hokage would get in the way. True Naruto has a lot of clones, he tried that and it just made Boruto more distanced from Naruto. Boruto and Kawaki's relationship and it's inevitable end does pull the heartstrings of the reader. The only problems I have are Jiraiya being cloned, which in my opinion somewhat lessens his sacrifice, and the fillers. But you did a fantastic job analyzing this series.
I think you opened up my eyes to this show. I’ll give it another shot.

I know the manga is getting somewhere but I watched the anime to about episode 70 when I gave up because nothing happened, it was boring. Considering how other anime like AoT and My Hero have had so much happen within the same time span it’s just hard to defend Boruto
I feel like the boruto anime swayed my opinion on it, the Nerfs that the old characters received in the totally not filler "anime Canon" were super unrealistic and the plots were boring for the most part. The episodes which were by the Manga were fun and hopefully more will come. Never read the Manga but maybe I should give it a try.

I tried to get into to boruto but it all just felt so unnesecary, kinda just like beating a dead horse cuz it still spits money. Naruto has a satisfying ending. By the end of the show the stakes were so high that whenever the movies or boruto try to introduce similarly dangerous villians it just feels foced. I kind of takes away from the hype and the danger of the war at the end of shippuden. its less exciting to watch knowing these kind of threats are actually a regular occurance in the naruto universe. (and also all the women are house wives so thats cool).
but that's the thing... Naruto DID end. Boruto and Naruto are 2 different series that just take place in the same universe, when you learn how to separate the 2 you'll begin to enjoy it a lot more.

Boruto is a brand new series that takes place in the same universe of Naruto. That’s why the 2 series are treated separate Intellectual properties.

It would have been SO much nicer to set the spin off a couple hundred years in the future. Give Naruto his own "First Hokage" type story and show us that the 7th hokage brought about a very long and very prosperous era of peace before he died, undefeated, peacefully of old age. That way we get the new turmoil of Boruto without spoiling the happy ending of Naruto. All the character we know are dead of old age aside from perhaps Orochimaru, but we still get a familiar world with a familiar history and familiar rules and power systems (but maybe some fresh new future techniques and jutsu). Giving a couple hundred years lee-way would also make the tech and infra-structure boom feel more comfortable and reasonable.
Don't get me wrong, the series is still enjoyable, but having the two stories separated much more solidly and definitively would have been nice.
