Hi, I live in a community of 500 houses in Florida that currently has the IQ2 panels with multiple problems. These houses are large and there is a connectivity issue with the panels. Do you think upgrading to the IQ4 would help? Thanks for any insight you may have.
I had a Honeywell gate sensor on my previous Honeywell Alarm system. The installer said he'd be able to incorporate the gate sensor with this panel IQ4, well now he say's he can't. Can it be done?
Hey Jeff! Yes, you should be able to connect this to one of these speakers: Anker Soundcore A3102,A3108,A3109. These are specifically mentioned by Qolsys, but you can try it with other speakers and see what happens, but we can't guarantee it'll work. My understanding is that this will replace the chimes for the door, so the sound will come from the speaker instead of from the panel, which may or may not be what you're looking for. Keep in mind, this was for the IQ Panel 2+, but should still work with the 4. This is a good idea for some content... if we make a video about this, I'll link to it in this comment!
Actually I asked around and it looks like the IQ Panel 4 might not have the same connectivity with bluetooth speakers that the 2+ had. So this might not be a viable option. The panel sends a ping back-and-forth to a monitoring station every 15 seconds. When the monitoring station doesn’t receive the ping on time it triggers alarm
