To each their own but as far as the “sweatshops” I hope people realize that most of the stuff we buy here in the USA is made in China. I have gotten many compliments on the clothing and jewelry I have bought from TEMU. I have a husband who is disabled and I’m retired so I need to save money wherever I can. My grandkids love TEMU and they send me the links to their carts so I can shop directly from them. Lots of cute toys, jewelry and makeup. There’s something for them all from ages 7 to 16. Even when I worked I never was about “name brand”. Sorry not sorry.
That is the truth about sweatshops, that ship sailed decades ago and I don’t know if we’ll ever get it back to a fair docking 😝 That’s not the issue I really tackle because like I said that ship has sailed … The one main point that I had in this video, was if money is a concern for anyone, there are ways to buy quality clothing at almost the same price as the low quality fashion from these mass marketed overseas suppliers that steal other people‘s designs…. You save money in two ways, because quality clothing last longer as well 🤩 You might be bouncing off of other people‘s comments, I’m not sure, because mine was strictly about how to shop for your clothing very wisely and save money for yourself in the long term… while still getting to have some fun. 🥰
@ yes this comment was in reference to the other comments in the thread. I totally understood the point you were making. Where I live I see a lot of our thrift stores and Goodwills are slowly raising their prices because of the inflation going on right now. I thrifted a lot of clothing for my family and myself when the kids were still at home. I love your videos and the advice you share with us. ❤️❤️
I totally agree with your stance regarding Temu & SHEIN. I have stopped following resellers who promote these kind of hauls. As consumers we need to do better in regard to climate change & employee treatment. I had my identity stolen after ordering from Temu just one time & the items I received were just junk. There is so much over consumption in our country & it really needs to stop! Sorry, this topic makes me really crunchy! 😖 Please don’t change your views on this topic. It’s one of the reasons I love you & your channel so much!! ❤
Thanks for another enjoyable video Yvonne. A little late but I agree with you regarding cheap fast fashion, or anything cheap and poorly made. There is a German saying that has always been my philosophy "I'm too poor (or not rich enough) to buy cheap". When I was at college in the late 60s I saved up to buy good quality German made tools to work on my motor bike (which was also German) and I still have them. I'm in my mid 70s, buy very little, but try to always buy quality items, often in thrift stores. I take good care of items so they last.
I completely agree with you on the Temu & Shein, they have toxic chemicals in their clothing line, I won’t be buying it ever, that dress might sell quickly because New Year’s Eve is coming up 💜
I don't think you sound snobby at all. I just wish people would keep their negative comments to themselves. They do nothing but hurt people's feelings and are not necessary!! Don't change you are great!!!
Some people might’ve thought I was coming off as negative, I guess it could be construed that way if it hurt someone’s feelings for some reason?? I wasn’t really offended by her opinion response at all, I just found it very curious that she was offended by factual statement
I agree 100% about Temu and Shein and Ali … Their backstory is horrible… but also, as thrifting resellers, I just don’t think it’s right to buy it second hand (or especially first hand!) and then go resell it to unsuspecting customers, especially when they can get it cheaper from the source brand new. I look nearly everything up just to make sure it didn’t come from one of them, and if it did, it goes directly into a craft lot. I won’t knock people who feel it’s their cheapest option, but I want to maintain my integrity as a reseller, so I don’t buy it and/or resell it. ❤
My mom had a similar red pleated dress like that for a New Year's Eve party when I was on 5th grades. That should sell fast. Love & Blessings Love up Hiway for me please. xoxoxoxoxo
There’s cheap clothes, then there’s Tumu, Shein etc. The latter are being called out for their worker practices (sweat shop) allegations. You can buy cheap clothing that aren’t fast fashion.
The final straw for me is that they show pictures of maybe the original item that they have copied, that they have stolen the idea … and it will look great but the actual item you get looks nothing like it… You can just look at the buyer reviews where they post a picture of their item, 9 times out of 10 it looks nothing like the picture, it was a cheap version Their T-shirts that they show on beautiful models that look all soft and cozy like they are made out of cotton, you can see them at the thrift store, and they are just horrible, poorly constructed that severely compromises comfort, and most are 100% polyester or some kind of bottom of the barrel rayon. They seem to count on people not reading the description thoroughly, just looking at the beautiful pictures?
They must have a very tricky return policy and people just get the Shoddy clothing and throw it away or donate it instead?? I know a lot of the Chinese fast fashion, and trinket marketers like on Instagram and Facebook, the ones that all sell the same thing under different names, they definitely have a tricky way with their returns … 😂 you have to read the small print because you think you’re buying it from an American address and you probably are, nine times out of 10 It’s a fake front address that a lot of them will share. Probably just a room somewhere in an office building, maybe even just a mailbox that they rent? But when you go to try to get your money back after being scammed, they say you have to return the item back to BFE China, which cost more than you’ll get in the refund. 😂 As consumers, we really have to watch our backs
Shein & Temu are basically pollution & clogging up thrift stores & donation centers. If that makes me snobby, so be it. I work at a local non profit outreach center. It's trash & so are the cheap diy t-shirts for birthdays, xmas & Momma Bears. Cricut machines just created more garbage!
I don't buy Chinese clothing or ANYTHNG from Temu or Shein. It's not about snobbery, people need to educate themselves re human rights and climate change. As far as the quality and dodgy photos go well I'd rather go without thanks very much and if it upsets someone, well tough.
Sorry I'd never buy clothes from Shien or Temu when you can get designer or good quality clothes some times NWT from a thrift store they last when you wash them too Winning lol...TFS guess i'm snobby too :)
I had my identity stolen after shopping once on Temu. Plus, the items I received were just junk. It’s all about consumption, which is why our thrift stores are filled with so much garbage!
I really should’ve bought that, that would’ve been fun to gift to some little girl, if their parents were OK with the size …or big person 😂😂😂 if they had the room

OMG! That Pegasus! The right little girl would squeal over him. My inner little girl is squealing a bit, lol!
I should’ve bought that 😂😂❤❤
I saw a news story of a jacket being tested for lead from Temu. It tested 1,000 times the acceptable amount for lead. Disgusting.

❤ I really should’ve bought that for only $23, it was still new with tags, duh 😂😂
❤❤❤
Marina Rinaldi is a pricey brand! I think that black dress would sell. ❤
I know it will, someone’s gonna be pretty excited when the right person finds it❤❤

You don't need to apologize for dissing the fast fashion of Temu and Chein. It's sub par for sure. I have seen it stuffing the thrift store racks too.
It is cheap stuff. And looks cheap
That Pegasus! And the black dress! I don’t think you are wrong about Temu. I’m kind scared of ordering from there. It’s really scammy imo.
I had my identity stolen after shopping once on Temu. Plus, the items I received were just junk. It’s all about consumption, which is why our thrift stores are filled with so much garbage!
