i just came across this video (Im late AF) and I'm kinda drunk but this needs to be said. Can we take moment to recognize how much black women be holdin us down? Even when we don't deserve it. The amount of talent, skill, and precision it takes to navigate black hair is nothing short of incredible. Dope video
I'm doing my nephew's hair for the first time tomorrow. I got a mannequin head to practice on so he can see I can do it lol. He's 15 and is very concerned with his appearance, so it's an honor he trusts me
Your a life saver! I used to do my son's hair when he was younger. Then when he was around 17 he started going to the salon to get it done and I was so happy because I didn't enjoy doing it because it would take me ages plus my hands/fingers would hurt! He then would get girls that he knew who could do hair and they'd do it for him. For what ever reason, he doesn't want to go to them and has now asked me to do it for him 😂. Now I have to go back to my hands and fingers hurting! I was looking for quick and easy styles I could do because previously it would take me 4-5 hours or even more...I didn't have any styles in my head then and he wasn't fussy but now it has to look good 😊. Coming across your channel has helped me now I feel I can do it and it will be over quicker lol the funny thing is is I have curly long ish hair and I twist or braid mine all the time lol. Thanks for sharing. 😘👋🏻
My 14yro asked me for plats, I’m not 100% confident in my skills and since he’s a star basketball player he says he must look good🤦🏽♀️so as the loving mother that I am I went looking for ideas and came across you. This helped me so much and I will be doing this very style on him. ❤️
This video makes me wanna just get my hair braided by a professional instead of a normal every day person. Her confidence and knowledge in this video is THROUGH THE ROOF lol! I can tell she knows what she's doing and talking about. That's the type of person I want to do my hair. Thank you for this video.
I love the fact that you love your husband's natural hair.. lots of women nowadays feel as if braids on grown men are an immature hairstyle and I couldn't disagree more.. these turned out great and fit him really well.. I'm curious to know how long he's been growing his hair? Thank you in advance..
I love hair on men, i actually prefer these types of styles instead of haircuts. They're bringing back the braids with the beads now but if you braid your own hair without weave and put beads on your hair they say its looks childish. Who is setting these standards and why are people buying into them?
@@thedevotedmuslimah glad to know there are still women out there who can appreciate a man with natural hair.. I'm not really sure who is setting those standards but you know once something catches on to social media others like to regurgitate it instead of thinking for themselves. I think it's foolish to only think that a man only looks professional if he has a low haircut.. that's just my opinion on the matter though..
Same, I love this new era of men growing out their hair and every time I see a "wash day tutorial" or "hair length check" vid with men in mind it makes me so happy. We all on this hair journey together😆😆 And the braids are hella nice
I'm in support of boys and men growing their hair out and enjoying it, never had a problem with it, but when I see my brother's having problems with their hair thinning (praying it's not baldness because they're definitely not at that age ) I think it's awful to make black men keep their hair cropped all the years that they have it full and growing when they could lose it when they get older.
my little cousin is the only black mixed kid in a native American & white family im learning how to do his hair since my family won't help him, thank you so much. this tutorial is wonderful ( also if anyone has any recommendations for products that would be lovely! )
Great video. Shout out to all the black men taking advantage of the pandemic by experimenting with longer hairstyles. I've been growing since April I probably can get this done in December-ish. My hair is maybe 6-7in fully extended. DRINK WATER if you want good growth. I do like 160 fl oz per day.
This video helped me a lot because my man has 4c hair and I’m on the way with our baby rn! So I’m using his hair to learn some more styles and then teach him…. He keep saying it’s a girl so 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼😂
I have a nephew with type 4 hair and I feel like his parent doesn’t know how to do his hair type. I’m mixed so I have type 3 hair Ik how to work with my hair type so I was trying to learn what I could do for him or my future kids cause I’m sure they won’t have bone straight hair 😂 so THANK YOU cause it’s very much needed
I wish a I had giro that could do my hair like this , the amount of effort and care she uses is dope . You can tell she takes pride in her work . Awesome job nice braids
wondering what purpose the rubber bands have and if theres any tips you have for putting them in at the end ? Thanks for the video, that baby is crazy cute !!
It's too keep the braids from unraveling, but I don't think his hair type needs it, but I guess the rubber bands make it extra sure that the braids don't unravel
I’d love to see the styles, and maybe a maintenance routine too. Mine frizz and get stiff if I put them up in a bun all day. Should I just be wetting them to get them to drop again?
Very nice! Y’all are so funny together, this reminds me of your pregnancy vlogs earlier this year (you and the pothole king 😂 I’ll never forget that car ride)
My son has dry hair and his just stands up on top of his head lol how can I do them to where they stay laying flat like that and don’t stand up when he wakes up or anything? He also plays football so it’s easier for his hair to be done cause he fits his helmet better then it’s all crazy like it’s been. Lol any info would be appreciated thanks a lot
Great tutorial. I just started attempting to braid my son's hair and his hair is similar to this gentleman in curl. What leave in conditioner do you recommend? His hair is very dry right now unfortunately.
I usually get my hair braided by my sister and she does it’s exactly like this, my sisters recently moved out and my mum does it now and she’s not as good but when my mum does it my braids fly up and wont rest on my head whereas when my sister does it they hang and rest on my head perfectly can someone help explain why this is
J Quest use a little gel when you’re braiding, then where a durag after you’re done and to sleep that helps the braids lay nice, make sure to pull the braids down once you got the durag so they’re laying how you’d like.
You can start from 2 inches but the sections will be smaller so the braids don't unravel, the longer your hair gets the bigger the sections you can braid, for example if his hair was 2 inches long with this exact hair cut, she may have had to put 4 braids where she put 1.
