What I have never understood about the "additional center rail for added support" is that its not even perpendicular to the frame inside the box spring. Basically not providing ANY support at all. If you take a Queen box spring apart you will see the wood frame has 2 "lateral" support beams that are parallel to the center rail and unfortunately the center rail goes in between them not doing anything but costing extra in some cases.
How do you extend the frame a couple more inches?

I Do not have those two little pieces? Just four pieces that all extend. Any help?
