I recommend the NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM TRILOGY, MEET THE PARENTS and its sequels MEET THE FOCKERS, LITTLE FOCKERS, RUSH HOUR TRILOGY, John Candy films UNCLE BUCK, CANADIAN BACON.
The kiss that Elizabeth plants on Jack in order to cuff him to the ship was intentionally left out of Orlando Bloom's script so the WTF expression on Will's face was a genuine reaction. Also, the dead man in Tia Dalma's house was Barbossa. She was in the middle of resurrecting him when they showed up.
Jack looked at the compass because it shows you what you want most. It pointed to the black pearl. He loves his ship. Loves loves his ship. Almost like cutting out his own heart to save what made the ship a home. His crew.
From a former sailor: The sea is fickle and dangerous at times, other times beautiful. A ship is protection, home and something you are married to while serving. Letting down the ship is to damn yourself to an ill fate. Men are protective of their women, as they are protective of their ship. From Google: Ships are referred to as "she" due to a combination of historical, linguistic, and cultural reasons. Traditionally, ships have been associated with femininity, often named after women or dedicated to goddesses, reflecting a protective role, and the Latin word for ship, "navis," is feminine. Additionally, the care and maintenance required for ships have led to the analogy of treating them like a beloved female figure.
This trilogy for me is just up there with other great film trilogies like The Dark Knight, Lord of the Rings and etc. It is very unique and epic. I wish we weren't so spoiled back in the day because the writting in these 3 is better than most of what we have gotten in the last few year. Actually imo it was maybe one of the few times where a studio wanted to have "their own Lord of the Rings" and actually made some something interesting, with great writing, acting, costume and set designs, VFX and creative choices. Gore Verbinski is really underrated. Also, the backstory we get from Jack and Lord Beckett in this movie and the next one from just a few lines implying it is just peak writting. Often in books and movies writters have to drop exposition, but in these really feels like the proper moments two drop a line or two from where you can reconstruct what happened. I wish I had the tie-in book which they released at the time which explores it a bit more and wish they kept some few deleted scenes which add so much to the story.
26:08 “A ship is called a she because there is always a great deal of bustle around her; there is usually a gang of men about; she has a waist and stays; it takes a lot of paint to keep her good-looking; it is not the initial expense that breaks you, it is the upkeep; she can be all decked out; it takes an experienced man to handle her correctly; and without a man at the helm, she is absolutely uncontrollable. She shows her topsides, hides her bottom and, when coming into port, always heads for the buoys. ”
The speed at which you're talking in your review 😂😂😂 I thought it was on 2x speed for a second lol. Just means you were excited about the movie and I'm glad you're enjoying it! Don't stop after the third one, watch all 5!
Tia Dalma wasn't rolling dice with the claws, she was reading the bones make a prediction of sorts. It's an old practice in some religions, like some in the the Caribbean.
26:08. Hi Cherry. The exact reason to why people refer to ships as female is LOST to history. Some say English used to be a gendered language like German. Some say it's because men just simply romanticised: - Ships were like HOME to their sailors and captains, they provide shelter, like countries can also be referred to as "she". - Ships can be seen as moody, depending on the sea or weather. - They need paint to keep them beautiful. - etc. Also yes, CGI in this movie is crazily good. The trickiest thing when it comes to CGI is they're neither inorganic or organic which we are so used everyday, thus requires lots lots of time and effort to manage these stuff. When it comes to the most realistic CGI movies, personally, nothing can beat this very trilogy. Producers did give their film crew as much time as they needed.
I recommend the NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM TRILOGY, MEET THE PARENTS and its sequels MEET THE FOCKERS, LITTLE FOCKERS, RUSH HOUR TRILOGY, John Candy films UNCLE BUCK, CANADIAN BACON.
Favorite of your reaction is when Davy jones Teleports to telescope to jack sparrow 🔭🐙😰😳😅 That's my fair part of this movie I wish I could do that in real life
Hi Colette, I enjoyed your reaction to pirates of the caribbean movie 2. My favorite part of your reaction is my favorite scene is when Davy Jones comes out of telescope in front of Jack 🔭🐙😱 And captain Barboza Still alive in the end I mean when I first watched this really young I knew he was alive too. Johnny Depp is amazing as Jack it's so funny that when he had the jaw of dirt he fell off the stairs😅😂 Can't wait to see your reaction to the third movie.
Dead Man's Chest and At World's End are to pirates of the carribean what Infinity War and End Game are to marvel. Don't wait to get to the third and also the best film in the franchise!
to understand Davy Jones, you have to understand his pain. He loved with such passion, so ferociously, that being denied the one thing he desired was enough to make him kill any hint of compassion and love left in him. The song he plays on the piano is teh same song that plays from his locket, and the fans of the movie created a full song over the snippets we get to hear. Colm McGuinnes created a beautiful rendition along with Rachel Hardy: th-cam.com/video/4XW_dYnXy7E/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=ColmR.McGuinness you will not get all the answers until the 3rd movie, but listening to this song should give you an insight into why he has become the way that he is. A captain that despises love in all of its forms and take a perverse pleasure in denying it to others. But I do not blame him. in the third movie there is an interaction (I will not spoil anything) that gives us the missing clues and makes us feel a great deal of sympathy for Jones. And shows just how much he actually cares for the woman he cast his love upon.
If you are interested, there is a video of how this part was filmed and how the make-up was done for Davy Jones and his team, although it is all computer graphics, it looks so natural👾👾
Fun fact, the other actors didn't know Barbossa was in this movie. That last shot was the first time they saw him and they were all genuinely surprised.
Colette: "Why is this movie looking better thn any Superhero movie today?" Well thats a mystery we will never know, what we do know....mostly all of movie experts agree (and they never agree) on one point. CGI peaked with POTC 2 and 3. POTC at worlds end was the best CGI ever used, after that, ist started to drop because studios rushed productios, Also this movie uses a mix of practical and CGI. The Kraken is practical. Its arms are tubes, filled with concrete, so there was weight smashing on the ships. Also Bootstrap Bill is th only crewmember of the Flying Dutchman who wears make up. All the others are completly motioncapture cgi. Even The Dutchman is a real ship. Its a 1:1 replica of the swedish vessle "Vasa". Little funfact: At the end, the actors had no idea that Barbossa would be in this movie. The shock on Orlandos face is real.
This is kind of a spoiler but it's from a deleted scene that's not shown in the movies. Jack was branded a pirate when he released a ship of slaves he was transporting to the new world for the East India Trading Company. That's when he got the P branded on him.
Hey Colette, Have you ever dressed up as a pirate for Halloween because I did dress up as Jack Sparrow once in high school. It was so cool people though I was really captain Jack sparrow !!
52:06 - how does he know that it is there? there is dirt from the jar on the boat, so he figured that someone opened the jar and took some of the dirt out.
Colette, I'm offering you a deal. You're watching the two remaining episodes of Star Wars. Otherwise: 100 years of service aboard the Flying Dutchman. 😁 About your debt: to finish watching the Lord of the Rings - let's talk separately.😊
The dice game on the Flying Dutchman will have consequences. Turner Jr. also put eternity in the service. And technically, he lost too. It will come back to him.
I looked thru some comments and was surprised that nobody told you its the Kraken or however it's spelled XD but too many to scroll thru haha ... not Leviathan
I remember watching the heck outta this on stars then seeing the 3rd in theaters. I'm gonna get the franchise on blu ray later this year but sadly the 4k one is pretty bad unfortunately 😕
3:23 "This is not for children" LMAO I can recall when I was in elementary school, and this 5 year old kid in my class was like the biggest fan of this movie and pirates in general. I do have to admit he was quite a psycho
You should consider doing a top 10 video with a break down of why you have the anime on your list. Would be fun video to make and good for engagement. If the video does well, maybe you could make it a “thing” and weave some nerd culture into your channel. Could be helpful in growing the channel.
Dead Man’s Chest is the high point of the series for me. Only gripe I have is that the ending is such a cliffhanger that there’s really no proper catharsis. Everything else is peak, peak, peak.

Lady Colette please react Dead man tell no tales…
"Life is cruel. Why should the afterlife be any different?" (с)
One of the best villain phrases in the history of cinema.
Where is the reaction to the first Pirate film? I can't find it on this channel.
I think it may have got taken down? I swear I recall her watching it.
Now you absolutely HAVE to see RANGO. Same director (Gore Verbinski), lead actor (Johnny Depp), and antagonist (Bill Nighy).
Yes!!!
Yesss! Vore Berbinski is spectacular.
Davy jones + hans zimmer = the most incredible thing ever happen in cinéma history ❤
Ps: there's post crédit scène 😊
Colettes screams sounds like R2D2 screams 😄.
Иногда как чайка))
When you saw a dead man with boots early on in the movie.. it made me realize, that was barbosa!

I know I sound so annoying I was cringing at myself re watching this reaction. It’s old and from the summer .. I was so hyped lol
@ColetteCherry lmao no it was hilariously cute and real 😂😂, it was an honest reaction and that's what makes a good reaction video!
Tia Dalma wasn't rolling dice with the claws, she was reading the bones make a prediction of sorts. It's an old practice in some religions, like some in the the Caribbean.
There is an after the credits scene with the dog in the same spot where we see Captain Jack Sparrow on the cannibal island.
You’re gonna LOVE. The next one .
Dead Man Chest is among the Best film Sequel ever Made!
I love your reactions and I'm excited to see more of it.
My favorite pirate film franchise ❤❤❤
Yay! I’ve loved your channel ever since you watched my favorite movie EVER, The Last Samurai. Your reactions are my favorite! ❤️

love it
my favorite in the franchise
“He would’ve been dead there’s no way” me: but Colette, your forgot about one important fact… he’s captain. Jack. Sparrow…
😂😂😂
Please watch brothers (2009) not enough people react to it. You will not regret it. Such an underrated movie.
You feel bad for the villain because he's a well-written antagonist. You're supposed to sympathize with the antagonist.
Don't worry about the dog. He knows the secret of Sea Turtles 😂

watch the BTS footage of Billy Nighy's acting as Davy Jones w/o the CGI. I could watch both 2 and 3 like that. It is remarkable!
Dead Man's Chest and At World's End are to pirates of the carribean what Infinity War and End Game are to marvel. Don't wait to get to the third and also the best film in the franchise!
Link to the first one, please? 😃
I can't wait for at world's end ❤

This is personally my favorite of the 3 movies (I don’t fully include 4/5)
The 3rd movie is my favourite. Speaking of movies, when will you take part in a movie again yourself?
The dice game on the Flying Dutchman will have consequences. Turner Jr. also put eternity in the service. And technically, he lost too. It will come back to him.
You have to watch the scenes that happen after the credits in each of these movies
He does have a comeback in the next film!
CC You gotta watch Mel Gibson's APOCALYPTO 2006. An Amazing film with incredible cinematography. CHEERS!
If abandoning ship to avoid the kraken makes you a coward, then I'd be a coward. I'd probably be screaming like a woman too.
I looked thru some comments and was surprised that nobody told you its the Kraken or however it's spelled XD but too many to scroll thru haha ... not Leviathan
At worlds end is ky favorite of the series.
This movie is peak golden age of piracy imo. It literally has everything, brittish colonies, sea monsters, ghost ships, pirates, natives and more
Such a good trilogy.
I remember watching the heck outta this on stars then seeing the 3rd in theaters. I'm gonna get the franchise on blu ray later this year but sadly the 4k one is pretty bad unfortunately 😕
