      Those long, skinny, red peppers are cayenne peppers. Tabasco peppers are smaller, shorter peppers. Serranos are short, evenly cylindrical peppers.

    Do you let the jars set in the canner for a bit after you turn it off? I have seen some videos that say to do this.

    • @JEHomestead

      Yes I let them sit with lid slightly open for around 5-10 minutes then take lid off and take out jars. Thanks for watching and commenting. Blessings, Judy❤️

      How long after the canner should it set up. The leftover I had in a jar hasn't set yet. I'm thinking I went alittle over and not enough pectin. If so how do I redo it. Thanks. It does taste good.

    • @JEHomestead

      Not sure why it would be brownish in color? Do you have Well Water?

    • @wandamares5509
      @wandamares5509 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No. The bell peppers were multi-colored with green jalapenos and one serrano. I used apple cider vinegar. It should have been light colored with all those beautiful colors looking Christmas like. I have made this several times. Nothing different.

    Can you use monk fruit instead of regular sugar?

    • @JEHomestead
      @JEHomestead  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ann, I haven’t used artificial sweeteners in canning, so I don’t know how things would taste. If you are just going to put jam in fridge, it may be ok. Check out the Ball Canning Website and they may have information on that! I hope this helps. Have a great weekend! Judy❤️

      Hi Helen, it happens sometimes to mine too. Sometimes it will settle after a few days and I’ve read if Jam is cooked too long the pectin may cause it. It doesn’t hurt the jam just doesn’t look as pretty :) When you open it just stir well. Hope this helps. Thanks For Watching and Commenting. Hugs Judy ❤️

      LET THE JELLY SIT A COUPLE MIN BEFORE JARRING SO ITS NOT SOO RUNNY AND WILL NOT FLOAT TO TOP IF IT DOES SET TIMER EVERY LIKE 10 MIN AND SHAKE JARS SLIGHTLY TO INCORPORATE THEM ALL THE WAY THRU BUT WAITING TIL ITS A BIT SET TO JAR DOES THE TRICK
