Girl! We have such similar stories with trying to move to Austin for such a long time, turning 30 this year, and figuring out remote work. I actually teared up when you did because it was also an emotional journey for me. I’m finally moving mid-April! We should connect :)
Wow this is so similar to what I'm going through. I've been in Seattle for 7 years now, just like how you were in Portland for that long. I moved here for a job and never really considered whether I actually want to live here or not. I'm also telling myself I need a change and Austin and NyC are my 2 shortlisted places. Hope you're having a great time there
Thank you for sharing your story :) I’m actually moving there too this year after thinking about it for years! It helps a lot to listen to your experience!
The universe is so funny. We have very similar backgrounds, even the idea just popping into my head of moving to Austin. I have never been to Austin and want to move there for the past year, mainly because I’m scared of the Portland winters (they’re too gloomy for me) I hope Austin is treating you well. I am following my gut and moving there in November. I hope to one day bump into you :)
So jealous! I dream about relocating to atx right out of college but ended up in sf for my first job. My goal is to transfer to atx within 2 years. I completely understand the wild thought. I’ve never lived in atx but I fell in love with the city since the 3 day roadtrip. I’ve been doing so much research about atx and am so certain that I’m going to love it. It’s 6th sense.
This is so crazy, our story is so similar. I’m from Covington, went to Western for college and am now about to move to Austin this summer because I also want to finally venture out from the PNW and am terrified but NEED sun. I also feel like eventually I may end up back in WA but who knows. Good luck ❤️ Maybe I’ll run into you in Austin sometime! I also got an apartment locator, just got back from Austin after apartment hunting and am about to apply! Hopefully us pacific northwesterners don’t die from the Texas heat 🥵
