We watched the film last night, and it was a great viewing experience! Really great job filming and editing. Tip for this video: If you don't record in mono, then when bringing the audio into the editor, bring both tracks in as mono, then mix down to mono. Because, Mike's voice is on the right, Martijn on the left, with both bleeding over.
Great video, and thanks for the Q&A! I found that Mike not talking at all, really added to the mood of the video and helped display the mental challenge such a long race brings.
mike did a hell of a job and massive kudos to you for staying positive, keeping your cool, when you had that flat on the climb and had to ride back to the city and do the climb again, i would have lost my sh*t completely at that point...please consider putting some of the other footage out, doesnt have to be edited.
You said the dynamo didn't do the job and came with a discharged power bank but the question is how much did using the Karoo 2 affect the much higher power consumption. He is running 6-8 hours where Gamin 530 /830 is 12-15 hours and wahoo roam also about 13-15 hours. Gamin 1040 ~ 20h I understand that this was part of your deal as there are much better meters for such demanding ultramarathons. My question is whether the dynamo from SON is worth the investment versus taking multiple packs of 18650 batteries / 2 per night

I'd never heard of you guys or BadLands until I purchased my first gravel bike "Canyon Grizl" then I started watching TH-cam videos for inspiration - It's got me hooked, that hooked I even purchased a Rille strap yesterday evening so I can lug a camera around on my adventures! I have a question about the editing of the Badlands video: What editing software did Mike use and which luts for colour coding. Many thx and keep on riding!!
When you are carrying your camera with your strap on the back, how do you protect it from water when its raining? Im still looking for a perfect solution. Im happy for every tipp you can give me :) Thanks

This year I rode the Veneto Trail (450 km, 10.000 m D+) with a friend and we want to do the Badlands next year. My question: any tips on how to get our hands on the tickets for next year? The registration hasn't started yet, but I've heard that the event usually gets sold out pretty quickly. Bij voorbaat bedankt! :)

Premiere pro, and only custom colour grading, no standard LUTs!

No idea really, maybe 17-18kg? Not much difference between our setups
