I'm taking Prismatic this semester but I'm having trouble how to do the facing right and what size and type of the facing mill should I be using for the product. The textbook I have for the class is a bit complicated to understand.

And tell me, please, if you generate NC code, machine should do as it's simulated? Right ?
But how machine can do that last operation when there are fixture clamps(chucks), or whatever you want to call it ?
And should the code be generated with two or more manufacturing programs ? or something else ?
    Best regards

Hi, yup you are right. In this tutorial we have not taking into account any clamping/fixtures within the machining proximity. To do that, we need to draw and assemble all the real fixtures or any clamping aids as well and re enter all the ideal parameters to avoid cutting the fixtures and clamps, and finally rerun the simulation.

For the codes, it is norm and we can say to be safe it is better to generate the codes according to what you stated. Since this is just a beginner tutorial, a single manufacturing program suffices to present the idea of generating the codes.

Hi, In this case, the radius compensation are done automatically. you can refer the tooling section for more info.

I think for V5 R21 should be about the same as this one. We haven't tried it yet. Will post once we have the oppurtunity.

Hi, How can I reduce my machining time? When I run the simulation, it happens very fast

    • @arquimedescastillo4459

Also, I recieved 28 errors and 1 warning in NC code generation. Please refer to the log files for more details. What'is it?

Which time are referring to? The graphical simulation time? or the predicted machining time?

      The graphical simulation time

hey can you tell me how to get the controller emulator file. my version does not have that file

Hi, you need to go to the drop-down menu >Tools >Options > Machining > Choose "ICAM". Why "ICAM"? Because they included a free generic ISO post file as we mentioned here in the tutorial. You can generate G codes virtually as long as you wish without restriction. Later perhaps you need to edit the file header to suit your NC machine.
