It is reassuring to know there are still people in our world who enjoy a productive days work. the simple things in life, and enjoying peace and quiet besides the warm wood stove.
I remember summers and Christmas at Grandma's... woke up to the smell of perking coffee, biscuits in the oven and bacon and eggs cooking on the wood stove. My job was always to draw the days water from the hand dug well and carry the ashes to the outhouse. It was great to both bath and fish ing the creek. Good memories....
Nice! I live the same way part time. One tip. Get in the habit of flicking your wrist and setting your saws chain brake when you’re repositioning in the woods. Only takes a second and much safer during a slip or stumble, which happens. I’ve been glad a few times. Cheers.
Just another day at the office. That's just how I've been spending the last couple of weeks. Finished the fall chores and started cutting for next year. Thanks for another great video.
You know your in the right place when you have know idea what time it is and could care less. As long as its light outside there is always something to do !!!!
You look about my age so that kind of helps give me a little confidence that I can get out there and do the same thing. Lost my wife of 24 years to cancer last year, so I'm heading out to the woods. Thinking I might play Huck Finn the rest of my life. Keep up the good work. !
you have a great setup and have out allot of thought into it. i woould recommend thst you upgrade your generator to a Honda 2000 eu. it will be much quieter.
NB what you should do to the roads that you snowplow, take some wooden dowels spray with fluorescent paint or some kind of rags and mark the side of the road so you know.
Looks like you need to sharpen your saw........LOL man that Husky cuts like a beast. I have a 372 and it chews through oak like butter. They make a fine saw. Love the videos. Thanks for posting them for all of us to enjoy.
Just stumbled upon your video. I’m glad I did. I have the same mind set of living. Peace quiet and coffee near a nice warm fire. Can’t wait for the day I finally make the move to upstate NY and live full time in my cabin. Great video buddy sending the best of wishes to you. Enjoy. Moving on to your other videos.
Ha Ha nice vid (early snows are September! (?) guess it depends where you live!love that coffee, quiet, bacon eggs and No Clocks. And the wood heats you twice when you split by hand Great vid. thanks.
Are you in Maine?I noticed the coffee cup was from Cabelas in Scarbough. Also,Instead of dumping the wood scraps from splitting, why not burn it in the woodstove?
@@NB88 Tim Hortons Coffee is 10x better then Dunkin Donuts coffee, i tried dunkin donuts coffee once was good for first few sips then it tasted nasty, to me it tasted like Organic Coffee :S
Your videos are super sharp and high def. I know a lot of that is your personal skill. But I'm also curious what kind of camera you use. My cannon Vixia is long in the tooth. What resolution do you record at?
NB88: Very enjoyable video. Similar to what I do in my off-grid home. You can never be without too much firewood. I have a wood stove, 2 wood heaters, a really large glass fronted one in the house, where I boil the water, keep coffee hot and sometimes slow cook stews or soup. The other wood heater is in a huge shed where all my tools and equipment are. I have 2 generators and several solar panels for my electrical needs and a gas fridge, a gas stove, as well as the wood stove, and gas hot water. I have 3 large water tanks on a wooden tower so as I have good strong gravity flow for septic toilet, sinks, showers, bath and washing machine. Always something to do. I am right on a large lake in the highlands, no real neighbours. Peace, quiet and contentment in absolutely beautiful surroundings. A few hardships, but I wouldn't swap where I am for anything. Perfect for a single man. I like all your videos very much and always love to see others living like this. Thanks a lot.. I've got 2 small TH-cam videos, if you want to see a little bit of my home in the mountains. Just click on my name. They are very, very amateurish and a bit rough though !!!!
I like the ......i dont need a click thing 😁 me personal i love a classic Ding Dong clock or a Cooku Cooku click version.....maybe a Astronomical version with Moon faze even with a planetarium those are expensive ! That was a good one with light trafic no Red lights no crazy drivers 😅😆😆😆
Hi, I just came across your channel! It's really cool and now I subscribed!! What state are you in? Also, I was wondering how many acres your cabin is on. It looks like you have a lot of peace and quiet! It's nice not having neighbors to close. Thanks for sharing!
I ENVEY YOU BRO FREEDOM FROM THE 🌎 IN NATURE.YOUR SET UP IS IDEAL MAN YOU ARE SO LUCKY.YOU SHOULD THANK GOD EVERY DAY FOR YOUR LIFE TO BE ABLE TO LIVE SUCH A WONDERFUL LIFE.I LOVE WATCHING UR VIDEOS . DO YOU HUNT LIKE DEER R TRAP ANIMALS SOME OF THOSE WOULD BE INTERESTING BUT NOT THE KILLING PART SOME PEOPLE MIGHT NOT LIKE TO SEEING THAT PART. I SEE YOU DON'T HAVE A PET WHY IS THAT? EXTRA EXPERIENCE I UNDERSTAND I OWN THREE DOGS MY SELF AND SOMETIMES THEY ARE A PAIN IN MY POCKET BOOK. BUT I LOVE THEM THEY SHOW LOVE BACK. WELL GOD BLESS FROM SOUTHEAST TEXAS.
Just found your channel , the bush , bush chores , and a cabin , is the way life should be for sure !! I am curious about your tractor as I am starting to look for one . What horse power is it and what width , or size is your blower ? I heard you couldn't run a blower with less than 65 hp , but yours looks smaller and you seem happy with its ability . Just trying to figure out what I need . Thanks c.f.
No that's not true. My tractor is 45hp and it's done everything I need it to do including running a 6ft blower. Occasionally we get monster storms that dump 3 feet of snow on us but I just put it in low range and no problem. I've had that Kioti since 2008 and after 1200 hours, I'd buy another one without hesitation.
Hi, just found your channel..I'm just starting to build a cabin,,so gonna steal some ideas..lol...The arctic cats a 2003 ,.wow looks in good shape...have any issues with it ?
No issues, that's been a really good cat. I'm a big believer in maintenance. yeah, I can't believe it's going to be 15 years old this year. Good luck with your cabin.
Your videos seem to relax me , keep them going👍

Honda is a nice generator and so quiet. But honestly I rarely ever run the generator since I upgraded the solar.
Early to sleep! Early to rise! It should be that way love that motta!
We got over 4 inches of snow here in Wyoming yesterday.
NB what you should do to the roads that you snowplow, take some wooden dowels spray with fluorescent paint or some kind of rags and mark the side of the road so you know.
