Thank you for posting this. The actual NTSB report on this accident is a worthy read. It’s pretty chilling. There needs to be renewed discussion on these disasters. The lessons learned still apply today. The “Mayday” (or “Air Disasters” or “Air Crash Investigation” depending on where you are) episode on ValuJet 592 is one of the better episodes of that series [there are a lot of good ones].
"ValuJet" is the worst name for an airliner I could possibly imagine. Who the hell wants to get on a plane with a name like that??? That's like a surgeon advertising "discount" open-heart surgery.
I just found out about this channel today. This video is so original, I liked it so much, you're literally amazing and you have a very prospering future! You got a new subscriber bud!
The contractor responsible for the unsafe O2 canisters, that was loaded on flt 592, was fined, and the authorities wanted to bring charges against someone at Sabre Tech, the contractor, but think they flew the coop and hasn't been seen since.
You’ve got a new subscriber - I thought this video was excellent and not an incident I’ve seen made the subject of a video before. It vaguely rings a bell, but I may have just heard it mentioned. I look forward to more videos from this channel and I think it deserves to grow. EDIT I shouldn’t have called it an “incident” - far too flippant. Disaster, tragedy I meant.
I remember this sad story when it happened and was outraged when I heard about the incorrectly packaged air generators, although I didn’t know what they were until I saw this video…. A horrible tragedy that could have been avoided…
Although this plane crashed due to improper packaging of HAZMAT material, there is no way I'd get on a "budget" airline. Old planes, bad maintenance and such. Honestly, I don't see how they get pilots to fly the things.
As someone who's job it is to ensure any dangerous goods going on an aircraft are correctly declared , packaged and labelled, I lay 90% of the blame with Sabretech for this one . Its only right they ceased trading after the NTSB investigation discovered what they had done. I don't believe a fire detection system would've given enough time to turn around and land given the nature of the fire and the oxygen feeding it. The only thing that would've save it wasn't fitted to many aircraft in those days. A good fire suppression system.
The best documentary on ValuJet 529 was the Crash Files: Inside The NTSB one from 2002. It's seemingly impossible to find online now but was especially good because the film crew were embedded in the NTSB go team which was led by Greg Feith. If anyone's got the video I'd like to see it but the copywrite is very vigerously defended.
I feel so sorry for all aboard this flight. This accident was so easily could of been preventable. Didn't they crash very close to where Eastern 401 ended up in Florida Swamps?
Sigh. Here we go. I am going to be excoriated for this but I mean no ill will whatsoever because it was a well made video and clearly a lot of effort went into its making. But. God, sometimes I wish I could proofread scripts for TH-cam videos. You can narrate a compelling story, but please don’t keep switching between the past and present tenses while doing so. It was well produced and engaging and I’m not having a go at you, honestly. And please, anyone reading this, I beg you, point out grammatical errors in what I’ve just written because I deserve the pratfall, the pie in the face, the humiliation. Because it’s all about me of course
You're spot-on. Sometimes the writing is cringe-worthy, as well as the pronunciations! But, hey, grammar ain't what it used to be, in terms of people giving a rip.
@@jessstone7486 And I don’t mean to be mean to this TH-camr’s work - which is wonderful - but it’s part of a broader malaise. I’m sixty this year which means I officially earn my “Cranky & Didactic” medal, and I can do the “appeal to authority” thing with impunity. Here we go: speaking as someone who directed professional voice artists for a living for a couple of decades, I believe I know something about the cadence of human speech, and that mellifluousness is very important in terms of communicating directly. Random unrelated example: if you have the same noun in the one sentence, the emphasis on the word or phrase before its second usage is critical. Bad ad copy still annoys me too: “hurry, until stocks last” or “we’re available all hours of the day, including 24/7”. Someone please tell me off, I deserve it.
@@brilton1 You're killin' me. We must have met > I spent over 20 years on-air, and also doing voice-over work!!! so I totally GET IT. I learned to speak correctly, reading news. But many don't. It takes time - and the 'want to'. Sadly, there are too few examples in this culture of proper speech - way too much slang, poor sentence construction, the "questioning upward lift" at the end of a sentence (a la meagan mcCain) on and on. You deserve no oppobrium - you are, like I said, spot-on. Cheers :)
Hello there, I read your comment, I'm planning not going to use A.I. voice forever, I had bought an microphone and I'll use my real voice soon or later.
As I'm not a native speaker, so I want to focus on vocabulary and grammar first, after that, I'll try to be a good narrator and TH-camr. Thank you and stay safe.
Jesus. Why would anyone fly on any airline that has the word “value” in front? Flying is one thing you shouldn’t be looking for value but safety and quality. I don’t even buy food that says VALUE anything. Value; cheap garbage and cheap labor.
Just found your channel. Great presentation, extremely in depth and you had decent visuals but the robot voice has to go. It lacks emotion and gets annoying after a while. Change that and I can see your channel blowing up eventually.
Very good video. But many, many basic simple errors in English. You should have a native English speaker go over your video narration before you release the video.

RIP
To the passengers and crew of ValuJet Airlines Flight 592
This is a terrible accident. It must have been horrible on board. Prayers are with all involved.
Very well done video, looking forward to seeing more!

Was anybody prosecuted for this accident? It sounds like someone should have been sent to prison.

seen this incident covered before but i liked the way you did this and watched the whole video. good work. thumbs up!
8 emergency landings in 3ish years? Damn
Kind of appears record like that. That company had a bunch of friends in very high places in the dirty city of DC. Please Vote More Wisely Forward.
Very much information and nicely cooked together. Well done 👌 Subbed!
I flew a Critter from ATL to MDW and back in 1994. I wasn't aware of their horrible safety record at the time.

Anyone notice the pic of the baggage handlers showed one of them using the power of his mind to levitate a package?😂
No - I must have missed that 😂
Well crap - That wasn’t even half of the damn story of critter 592 ! Holy hell - The worst !

Excellent video, thank you for sharing.
Very great, detailed video!
Sometimes the TH-cam algorithm does do great things😅
I hope your channel will grow, anyways I subscribed 😊
Good video, and thank you for starting this channel, well done and I just subscribed

Disgusting airline! They were grossly negligent on numerous occasions.
Again nobody was held accountable for this just like the Boeing and the max
The grammar on this channel is strong

This was no accident !
Clear afternoon day
We flew on caliber once and luckily survived!

Check out videos USCSB that has same thing start fire on Aircraft .
Thank my LORD, that this didn't happen when my son was flying to Europe. I would have freaked out.
Sounded like an AI computer generated voice. I’ll stick with Mentour pilot, 74 gear, green dot and VAS aviation until a real narrator is used.

@@thishadoccurred Ok, I’ll check back. AI still doesn’t know how to pause or read certain words so it takes me out of the story.

still can’t find the amino that killed all these people mr Holman
A garbage MRO working on a garbage airline so sad Airtrans was nothing like Valujet it was a very good low cost airline.
idea: Yeti airlines fight 561 ( i think) idk the flight number
Hello there, and thanks for an idea. I'll take it for the future videos.
I had friends on flight. 592.
Absolutely no way this plane should have been allowed to fly...
nice title
Were been...really??
I'm subbing.

Value jet became AirTran after this accident
