Every year my mom would ask what I wanted for my birthday dinner & I would say spaghetti and meat sauce. She would cook it the same exact way except she would do green peppers & onions & then add the ground beef. I will be 60 in February if God spares my life & I think I will fix some spaghetti. I had spaghetti like that my whole life until I went to a friend's house from high school. They were full blooded Italian and made everything from scratch straight Italian style. The sauce, meatballs, noodles and cheese was all separate on the table and you added everything on your plate. It was so good and fresh it made me realize I'd been lied to about spaghetti until then. I never looked at spaghetti the same way again.😂

I always freeze my extra spaghetti sauce either in containers or zip locks - sometimes I freeze the pasta in with it…. Pull out, thaw - heat and it’s fabulous

This spaghetti recipe tastes different, but, it's so delicious! Big pots of this are often made for large gatherings (and parties) because it's easy and inexpensive to make. It doesn't taste like traditional Italian spaghetti as it has its own unique flavor (and it's also commonly made with bacon bits). I enjoy this recipe as much as the traditional Italian style. For example, it's the same regarding macaroni and cheese. Sometimes I'm in the mood for macaroni and cheese casserole and other times I'm in the mood for creamy stovetop macaroni and cheese... Same thing just a different way of doing it... :)

That's a beautiful, Holiday spaghetti platter. I buy Trader Joe's house brand Marinara sauce, tomato paste, San Marzano tomatoes, imported Italian pasta and many of their other traditional Italian foods. They're inexpensive and very good, genuine EVOO included. Venison is not used because I hate wild game meats and won't eat them. My sauces and meatballs are made from a rich 50/50 combination of 80/20 ground beef and hot Italian sausage. My sauces and flavor enhancements are also done traditional Italian-style. I love long spaghetti and never break it. Creamy Pecorino Romano cheese isn't cheap, but it has has a lot more flavor than Parmesan. TJs sells a freshly grated one. I only cook for myself, so a versatile 16-ounce package of their economical pasta provides 2-3 large meals. TJs sells everything needed to make great Italian feasts, from dairy and fresh produce to imported table and cocktail wines.

Looks really good. I make huge batches of sauce and freeze. So easy to just make some pasta and pull out frozen sauce when you've had a busy day.
