As a bike mechanic of over 20 years I can safely say this is one of the most dangerous "repairs" I have seen, for the price of a new lever don't risk your life.

As a 40 year old man who hasn't been on a motorcycle since he was 14 and, never repaired one. I can honestly say. This repair is going to put someone in the hospital or, the ground.

If you love the person on the bike PLEASE buy them a new lever NOW! I was young and dumb once and tried these sort of things with only my own life at risk and I tell you to get a newie. Sorry about your vid bloke, life is more important. This will break at the point you stopped drilling into the main section.

      Hello my friend
This opinion was really expert. good job
But my goal was to use it not as a permanent repair but as a method for when there is a vacation or for any reason it takes time to access a new batch.
Anyway, having this brake is better than not having the entire handle

Another half baked asian idea. By the time you spend $20 on CA glue, activator, battery and time you can buy a new lever for $10.

This is exactly what MacGyver would've done.
Not Angus MacGyver who worked for the Phoenix Foundation. His cousin, Dean MacGyver, who was born 6 weeks premature, was malnourished as a child, went to public school in Arkansas, had a significant drug problem in his teens, and currently works for Reynolds Air Conditioning in Little Rock and often refuses to wear proper PPE.

Except now it looks like shit, is structurally unstable and might twist at the new joint.
Needed a ton of different tools, working with dangerous chemicals from a battery, potentially a fucked up drill bit
All for a weaker, less appealing lever that costs 10-15eur to replace from OEMs

I like the way we are left to guessing what liquids were put in the repair.
I think I would rather buy a new handle.

If you don't want to pay for a new one, at least weld it back together. Me personally I would be buying a second hand one rather than relying on a superglue part to stop my bike.

      hi my friend
This method is definitely not for permanent use. Imagine for a day off and to use at a slow speed until reaching a suitable place to buy a new handle

@@WTRICK582 You would be there faster walking than doing all of this. And if it is not for permanent use then why "100% like first day"? and why even paint it?

Look I'll give you credit for all the work you did compiling the shots and camera work.
But if someone has the equipment and supplies needed to replicate this they most certainly have enough disposable income to spend 10-20$ for a new handle bar.
