The sound was actually used in the movie war and peace before being used in Waterloo. It was one of three death sounds used for the movie. I don’t know why they used all three of them if they were extremely unrealistic the movie director even wanted to change them but they kept them for some reason I know the same person who directed war and peace, directed Waterloo
