There's clearly studio alterations in many of the official acapellas of his songs (7th Element, Nightingale, and I'll Remember That Day). I wouldn't go as far as saying he is incapable of hitting high notes, at this point I can only give him the benefit of doubt but don't KNOW if he can hit higher notes. I think he is capable of reaching B5 or C6 which seemed to be where most of his studio tracks capped off, and most of his music became more like Russian chanson focusing on his lower register. It strikes me as odd he suddenly can reach G6 and higher when Skyfall was released after the 7th Element became a meme and revived his popularity worldwide.
