With over half of NHS workers suffering from poor mental health and with one in four NHS staff having considered suicide, our new campaign underlines how, in many cases, NHS staff are sicker than the patients they are treating.

Arguably the most powerful 2 minutes I've ever seen on YT. My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone affected by mental health struggles. And to those working in Healthcare, you are not forgotten. I know it is tough, but you are loved, and appreciated, and the world is a better place with you in it! ❤

Saw this at Frome Westway cinema - having worked in the NHS and with family still there, this is so spot on and heartbreaking. Great piece of work and, as others have mentioned, this should be all over TV and in streaming ads and anywhere it can be. I'll be fundraising off the back of seeing this.

This needs to be shown as a TV ad. NHS staff face so much abuse alongside terrible pay and worse working conditions. People need a harsh reminder that they are human and still greatly affected by the trauma they see every day. To any health care workers reading this, thank-you.

Yes we face abuse from patients. This is very true, but we need to look at the institution too.
I loved my job, but I left the NHS 18 months ago. Not because of patients, but lack of support from managers, directors, HR. Internal structures.
Managers not listening. No reality of what is happening for staff OR patients.
I can honestly say any ‘abuse’ I have received from a patient has been valid. If I was ‘that’ patient I would have reacted the same. Or the ‘abuse’ was part of them being un well.
We need to address managers, HR - who gaslight, bully. Have no medical training.
I’ve been managed in a medical setting by someone with a Travel and Tourism degree. We need management with integrity, this comes with medical training. The ethos of our training and our caring profession.
We need to address the racism, bullying, disability discrimination within the NHS. It’s at its core.
Being around this all day is a key factor in MH outcomes.
Assisted Employee programs… with targets? They screen and prioritise. They will only support 20% of NHS staff.
The 80% go off sick and put more pressure on remaining staff. The cycle continues.
Patients suffer. They are named ‘abusive’. Puts pressure on staff.
Meanwhile middle manager on a huge salary takes more annual leave. Relaxes on the weekend. Buys a new Gucci bag, has nails done and comes back Monday with more hair brain ideas.
This has been happening in the 4 NHS Trusts I’ve worked in and the reason I’m out.
Theres only so much a person can take

I worked in the nhs for over 10 years, worked my way up and qualified as an OT 5 years ago. In 2022, I had a breakdown, got diagnosed with complex PTSD, and I haven't been able to work since. The government has massively let us down and abused our good will for too long. We are sick, just like you. We are dying, just like you. Our hearts break with yours. We see the happiest parents of new life and the darkest days of people's suffering. We actually love what we do; we're just not being supported, financially or psychologically, to do it. I really loved my job. But I can never go back. I'm the patient now, and I get to see the cracks from the other side. We are breaking, and some of us are already broken.

as someone who works in the NHS in one of their labs, this is quite the eye opener, I imagine it applies to more to frontline workers than lab staff, but I had a mental breakdown myself back in january this year to to constant stress and feeling overworked, ((all i do is book in samples and admin paperwork, 5 days a week, for 7 hours a day and we get so many samples our team can barly keep up, no background music or anything like that, we can't even have longish conversations and banter to break the monotonmy because someoe in the lab tells us to be quiet, or tells our manager))
while this may not apply to lab staff as much as Frontline staff, to hear that at least 50% of staff are suffering like this and 25% want to end it ((to put it lightly....)) that's just abysmasl, and to think, the act of just asking for silence in the lab has a highn chance to push someone into a mental breakdown, or even cause someone to end it if they are part of that unlucky 25%...
I'm just in shock and am very concerned for myself, and my team

This is real. It happens and should not. I am lucky that the team I work with are fully supportive of one another but it doesn't stop the feelings of being totally overwhelmed, of fear, and upset.
