I agree with we haven’t gotten credit. Specifically, ESPN FC after the Bayern game said “they simply cannot do this against Madrid. It won’t work!” When we all have faith even with the offside trap we could win.
The offside trap absolutely was working with Bayern: Kane is constantly caught offside, and Olise was desperate for Gnabry to run on the wings to relieve him from being pressed. The only difference was that Bayern did not bite on the trap as Mbappe.

Thank god that atleast someone is talking abt the bias in the commentary and the pundits, like it was so evident especially on ESPN like aren’t they supposed to be neutral
ESPN FC are a joke. It's an outdated model and they're desperate to keep up. Hopefully this was a wake up call for them and all the Barça doubters - Uncle John
It is kind of jealous how it is always in Barca that revolutionary football is being played. Cruyff came in, and his philosophy of total football dominated football for decades. Pep Guardiola came in and possession based tactics become household name in the continent. Now Flick came in, and he seems to again reinvent what football can be again. Man United has struggled for decades chasing its glory days and spending ungodly amount of money. Barca seems like to about to go into that spiral that ManU is in, but with 1 change of personel and Barca is now the biggest contender for everything under the sun.
The high line and the pressure is this teams identity. Asking them to change that is basically saying bring in a new coach. You can’t praise the coach for the work that he’s doing but them say hey but change your philosophy and what have made you successful so far in Barcelona… I just don’t understand that line of thinking. He will live and die by the high line and pressing and we just have to accept that as fans.
Fair point. It's the die part that we don't want to see. You're correct that Hansi ball is Hansi ball and it's been beautiful so far. It'll be interesting to see what happens if / when things really aren't working out for us if he'll keep with the same tactics or make adjustments during the match. Even though there is a clear style of play being implemented the greatest coaches can adapt to the situation. In Hansi we trust! 💙❤️
Madrid youtubers acting like they doninated the first half, they had zero shots on goal and most chances were offside, they were playing into Barcelona's game
Guys the change in that Bayern game during the 1st half wasn't withdrawing the high line and making the line play deeper it was a change in build up. Initially Bayern were dominate in possession because Bayern were pressing our back line man to man and idk if it was Ineki Pena feeling under pressure or it was Flick's instruction but Pena was trying to play direct passes into Lewandowski and Kim and Upa were winning the ball easily since they were 2v1, and then Bayern were able to cycle possession and shift our backline side to side moving up the pitch using diagonals from winger to winger (Gnabry and Olise) while Kane remained high holding an offside position in behind our Cbs and in position to receive crosses in the box (That's how he scored twice 1 offside). The change Flick made was telling our backline to build up from the back through Bayern's high press instead of going long into Lewandowski directly from the goal kick with that Bayern committed a lot of players to the press and their back line then had to push up to back the press and that's where the space in behind was, that change also allowed the defense to have less pressure because Harry Kane had to drop in to help Bayern's midfield progress through Barca's counter press or help to win the ball in the midfield when Barca were on the ball thus vacating that CF Position, also Casado or Pedri dropped in to the backline to maintain a solid defensive structure allowing our fullbacks to come out to Bayern's wingers when they played the diagonal.
Thanks for commenting and giving your detailed analysis! Hope you're enjoying the pod. Where do you see Barça going from here? La Liga, Copa, UCL favorites or no?

I stopped watching football in 2017 and started watching last year again. I have to say that it feels surreal to have pundits and so called experts talk like we are a small team. Not only that but seeing our fans act like abuse victims is even more surreal. It feels like I've stepped into a time machine and woken up in an alternate dystopian universe. Hopefully this is the start of us turning things around, thank you Hansi!

@@MesQueUnPod I've been consuming an unhealthy amount of TH-cam and Reddit content since the beginning of the season and after the victories against Bayern and Madrid. It's a bit difficult to explain as I'm not the best with words, but it feels like fans are scared to predict Barça to win games. Before those victories, very few people were coming out with their head held high saying Barça would win and some would even be happy with a draw. They are like turtles hiding in their shell, scared to get excited. In a way it's understandable since I'm missing all of the context from 2017 onwards, but come on at least get excited and come out of your shell after we demolished Bayern and Madrid. Guys, Brazilian Barça Fan here. Our local midia is saying Barça is a big Champions League competitor this year. The question is can Barcelona handle injuries for the season? How do you guys feel about eventual injuries for Yamal and Raphinha. If they need a bunch of games out, how will the team perfom? Can they bring Ansufati back to create some plan B for injuries? Gavi, can him handle so many games this season?

I’m sorry did we really just compared Raphinha to the ballon d’Or, best player in the world at his prime Ronaldinho? Come on guys! At his best moment Raphinha wouldn’t come close to matching what Ronaldinho did. There’s such a thing as being prisoners of the moment. Given that Ronaldinho is his idol, I think Raphinha would be extremely offended. You guys compared him. Also I think that quote from Henry is fake.
Ronaldinho is a legend and the reason I started watching Barcelona. No one holds him in a higher regard than me. With that said, Raphinha is currently on pace with Ronaldinho's goal output in 05-06 which was his best ever at the club. I've said in other comments that it's not a like for like comparison bc they have very different playing styles but what Raphinha is producing right now is absolutely at that level. I'm not saying Raphinha is better or should be held in the same legendary status yet but what he's doing this season needs to be recognized. 11 matches with 12 goal contributions is more than just "a moment" - Uncle John
@ you said “at the end of Raphinha time at Barca he would be at or above Ronaldinho status. Sorry I am here to tell you not in your wildest dreams would that ever happen. And that’s not taking anything away from Raphinha because he’s playing start this season but Ronaldinho literally brought back Barca to where it still is today. To suggest that could even have a higher standing in the club that Ronaldinho is absolutely being a victim of the moment.
