this is perfect sunday morning, masters thesis writing music! not to say it is only background music for analyzing the impacts of climate change on snow-cover extent using satellite imagery...it is worthy of deep analysis and listening in and of itself.

This is for me a slightly different style of Post Rock, it has atmosphere, heavy riffs and yet manages to retain a very strong melody. Excellent.

Wowwie! What an awesome release! I love the way the melodies standout in my ear, but the rhythm parts are exciting as well! I think Zurvan's my favorite, but A place beyond decay had a bleakness to it that hit home and that last couple of minutes really rock!

Where is the "progressive" in post-rock nowadays? :( this doesn't sound bad at all, i just find it soooooooo boring. you can skip an entire minute of the song and it's still the same beat/sound, there's no variety, no changes, no creativity. i don't hate this at all, but it's not post-rock to me, it's ambient-rock. background noise. because nothing actually happens. listen to a Mogwai song and you'll know what i mean. or EITS. Or Caspian. Or This Will Destroy You. Or Mono. Or the Mercury Program. Or Maserati. Or Tortoise. Or or or or or.
Well, in a nutshell, Post-Rock is not for you. I'd suggest delving into genres like Progressive Rock/Metal and Math Rock and I hope you get what you're looking for.
Don Caballero is your jam, then. "Slice Where You Live Like Pie" is my favorite song for introducing people to them. So many, "what the hell just happened?!" moments.
