You know what, your work is a film application sample in China, which watched and learned by many of the students who want to make a film portfolio in China. I just want to say, your storytelling skill is such mature. This is not like a student work, but more like an experienced filmmakers work. I'm a Chinese high school student now and I'm filming my own work as well, I hope I can successfully be accepted by some important film schools. men, never give up! you can be somebody!

Just wanted to let you know, this film inspired my application film. I thought the MoTown driving montage at the start was SUPER dope so I took that as inspiration and kinda built my film out from there.

I've always wanted to write and shoot shorts. Great job telling a story with no words. Loved the background effects and the content as well. don't know a thing about it so I just create these crazy TH-cam episodes with one of my alter egos.

I always binge watch a lot of film school applications and yours is definitely one of the best I’ve ever seen, how did you achieve the shot at 2:23 ? the only way I can think of is you filmed the day part first?
Got up before sunrise and filmed the first part of the shot where the car drives into frame. Then, waited for the sun to rise and filmed the car driving away.
That was great! I loved the simple but meaningful plot and story structure. Can't wait to see what more you have to come.

I hate to ask the question that shouldn't matter considering its about whats in front of the camera, what lenses for your short films you have been using lately?
50 mm and is my favorite focal length. Also used a 24 mm a lot on this project for the wider shots.

I try to use all the available light I can find (In this case street lights) and shoot at a wide open aperture whenever i'm in a dark setting.

I was wondering how the licensing of the music in this film was done, and if it ended up being very costly. Is licensing cheaper if it's requested by a high school student (because of the smaller amount of visibility?)
