To be honest, I can’t remember the last time I powered on my ps5, it’s been all Xbox when at home and switch when on the move. Never thought I’d see a day when there’s nothing for me on PlayStation but here we are
I've only turned it on to work through my backlog such as the old God of War titles the entirety of last year. The only new game I considered getting was Astrobot but it is too short to justify its price imo. I've still got a few games in my backlog such as uncharted to play through but after that I dont see it being turned on this year. Ghost of Tsushima was painfully overrated. Not bad but definitely doesn't justify even half of its price tag and I'm guessing the sequel will be no different. Death Stranding isn't my kind of game so I won't play that. The only game I'd be interested in is the Venom game but given we haven't heard anything about it I'm guessing it is either cancelled or releasing in 2026 instead
💯☝️. Playing to not lose than playing win. They won the console war but in terms of the content war they focused to much on gate keeping and playing dirty than actually making games that their customers want. This will trigger some ps fanboy but it's the truth
And by spending so much to block games going to Xbox, they just forced Xbox to buy enough studios to make all their games themselves so they couldn't get blocked. Sony made themselves weaker and Xbox stronger just to claim they're "winning" a console war
People talk about Phil Spencer being a sleeper agent for PlayStation, but what if Jim Ryan was a sleeper agent for Xbox or Nintendo this whole time? The insane amount of damage to the PS brand he caused never ceases to amaze me. It’s a shame really that two of the strongest brands in gaming are being run by complete fools.
I only played Ghost of Tsushima, and that's it. My PS5 has been sitting dormant for years to be honest. We only play the Xbox series X&S and my Rog Ally gets a lot of use as well.
They lost at least 4 billion if you include Bungie, who did absolutely nothing. Sony bought them in a panic after the zenimax acquisition. I feel bad for insomniac who were bought for about 300 million and they held up Sony for the last two generations.
Wtf u on about Sony like Microsoft invested in them they didn't loose billions they earned a profit in a curing them fir eitha games or other things down the track
I personally don't care if games go to PlayStation or Nintendo it's not going to hurt my gaming experience I'm still going to have fun with these games
I’m not sure why people are acting surprised about this. Sonys been heading this way for years. The media has always been covering all the shit they do
I have my PS5 and Xbox Series X next to my gaming PC and the PS5 is the system that gets used the least. Considering how much I've used it since I bought it, it has been a bit of a waste of money. It has the odd game that I can only play on that system when it first released (Final Fantasy 16, Spider-Man 2), but both of those games are on PC now (Spider-Man 2 will be on Steam in just 8 days). The only silver lining is that I didn't get conned by Sony into buying the PS5 Pro (if you bought one, you would have had your reasons) which would have gone mostly unused too, as the problem isn't the hardware, it's the lack of 1st party exclusives. 3rd party games are usually cheaper on PC so I buy them on that platform, leaving the Xbox as my Game Pass machine and the PS5 gathering dust most of the time.
release what on PC? 90% of their games are on PC apart from GT/Astrobot and Demon Souls cause Stellar Blade is 3rd party, the china projects are comming to PC day one regardless/Square Enix is done with Sony/Pearl Abyss rejected them
@@andrewjohnwilliams6951 tell me, how well did your prediction about Sony "having something up their sleeves" pan out last year, cause I know you made more than one of those 🤣
I’ve never played bloodborn, but it baffles me that they haven’t done a remake or even just a 60fps version. It sounds like it would practically print money for them.
I mean... This idea just came to my mind... Should we really only blame Microsoft for Banjo? If anyone plays Banjo Tooie they will notice that the game is weird to put it in simple words. I think Nuts and Bolts is Rare becoming too crazy and failing.
Call of Duty players spending more than 70 percent of their time on Call of Duty spent an average of 296 hours on the franchise." It means the loss of CoD on the console would be a huge hit on Sony's revenues, considering it earned $800 million in the US alone in 2021 and something like $1.5 billion worldwide. After the flop of Concord it seems like they need to be careful where they spend their money on.
But if u take thst into account n Sony said no to Microsoft for putting it on PlayStation then Microsoft Xbox Activision would loose 3 times as much in the billions think it's bee stupid to not put it on there
@andrewjohnwilliams6951 u forgot activision have new 10 year contract with Nintendo. Until april we never knew how it will perform. If its perform like PS4 at least. I think its a win for microsoft
Jay I'm in no way trying to tell you what to do and what is best for your channel. I'm very sure that in the end you'll know what's best for you. I just want to make sure that you haven't overlooked something when you decided to delay your content so you can give your Patreon subscribers early access. Overall your channel is a news channel. Before the internet, news have been spreading slowly but now every single bit of information that comes out is immediately picked up by someone and then published on their news channel. So delaying your videos may damage your channel. As a fan, I don't want you to get less views because someone else has already covered the topic, but I have to say that a lot of people go where the news are published first and not where the news are presented in the best way. This also causes you to lose the opportuity to catch new viewers as they might already be up to date and you're late to the party because you have implemented early access. I'm sure many, if not all, of your Patreons would be fine with you ditching the early access for something else that has less potential to damage your channel in the long run.
I listened to a podcast on Monday where the panel discussed that the direction that Sony have went in with their live service push. They agreed that whilst the PS5 generation in terms of console sales could be considered a success at the end of the generation, regarding the lack of first party titles as a result of their failed live service push, it could be considered a failure. Also if you look at all the live service games cancelled, the studios closed, the lack of input from playstation's first party studios especially in the latter part of the generation, concord, the time and money wasted, the disaster that's been bungie, it's been a huge mess. They also mentioned that it might impact Sony for the next 10 years and that Sony are now reliant on partners such as Microsoft to deliver content for the platform whilst they try to bridge the lack of first party titles.
that some bs for example as we seen with naughty dog even though they cancelled factions intergalactic is still on track to release. These live service games have not hurt single player games. If anything they have help them come out faster as they could move more resources over that would not have been available
@@Donald_Allan nope as the live service game were a additive not replacement and cancellation are a common practice as yoshida himself said in his last interview that people would been shock how many was cancelled during the ps3 era.
@@stewarde17naughty Dog also had to cancel the factions multiplayer for TLOU2 AND the standalone multiplayer for TLOU. If you don't count cross gen titles, they haven't really released much other than remakes. Intergalactic is an unknown in terms of quality. The reveal trailer was terrible and you could tell they were up their own ass in terms of lore nobody knows or cares about. Ten games being cancelled and Concord being killed is publisher killing. If you want to know how Ubisoft got into the position it currently is, just look at what PlayStation is doing. The fact they themselves have said they need to course correct speaks volumes.
These live service games should have been further developed and released to the public, God of War online?, Horizon online, Factions online?, but to prioritize them is a huge mistake indeed. These games could have worked if PlayStation should kept the course but here we are more cancellations that could lead to waiting another 4 to 5 years before Sony can show up with anything. Its that the PlayStation fanbase give Sony the finger and move on for the time being.. If Sony change their strategy into multiplat then Sony fans should not be complaining.
I am not a fan of service games, and I think Playstation invested in way too many of them. I think they should have only attempted 3-6 max. That being said. Shuhei Yoshida said that 1st party got additional funding for service games; therefore, even if there were no service games, the investment in single-player games would be the same. Also, there is an update in this story, and it doesn't look like the Horizon MMO was canceled.
@SheepAmongG.O.A.T Almost all of the service games from Playstation have failed so far, but not zero. They consider GT7 and MLB The Show service games, both are successful. Helldivers 2 is undeniably successful to Playstation. We'll see what happens with their other service games, but I'm skeptical about them given the cancelations and failures.
Their movie division has always been hit-or-miss. They thought they could crap out Spider-Man movies every year just to hold onto the license when that’s really not the case. The vast majority of their movie catalog is really good, the problem is they ignore the good stuff and push the shovelware.
Xbox business heads seems to be porting games to gather real data on current sales so they can turn around and justify increased budgets for greenlighting future games...while some addicts at Sony seem to have been buying billions of live service scratch off cards at the Quickie Mart from Apu just assuming that one of them will be worth a billion so they can break even, only to find out they still lost money because...math. At least someone seems to have orchestrated a recent intervention at Sony. Maybe in 2-3 years we'll see regular PS games again.
Everyone predicting the fall of PS don't forget, we need them, just like we need Xbox. We don't want any of them to have a reason to stop competing. We get screwed if that happens.
The market tends to fill the void. So there might be a new player. But I agree with the point I believe you wanted to make, which is: we need a competition in the gaming hardware (console and console like) market. But in the end companies need to do something to attract customers if they make number of failed decisions they need to face the consequences. And it is not customer fault that company took a wrong turn.
@mravg79 yes the market always corrects itself eventually. My concern is how long we will suffer until that correction takes place. With some companies hoping GTA6 will up it's cost to $100 so they can follow suit. PS being gone will only encourage them further. So for me it's the devil's I know at the moment. It's not great, but I'd rather that until a new power rises that we jump to.
@@aizentaicho82 for me it matters less. I gathered a few hundred drm free games I can play on pc (some older even on potato) I have a few games in backlog for consoles. So even if there was a game-pocalypse I could enjoy games for a good few years. Price of games? Not a problem I wait for sale. Which is reasonable thing to do taking into consideration disappointments, broken releases, unfinished games being released and so on. I can wait and pay less for patched product. But I’m a gamer since ‘92 and I simply follow what happens in the industry, I find it interesting. To me the only thing that counts is to enjoy gaming. And believe me I still do. Have a nice time gaming!
I get your point totally. I personally don't care about canceling or not doing live service games... as long as, in this case, it's not Horizon 3... I'm good. But yes, the Sony direction lately has been messed up. Let's hope for a company - direction refresh, get back on track.
Disappointed on top of disappointed in Sony because Horizon was the only one of these live service games that seemed perfect as an MMO and had a studio in NCSoft with real experience making successful MMOs. SMH
@@SheepAmongG.O.A.T You could very likely be right. I still think that world would make for a great MMO and am disappointed that I'll likely never know.
@@dustinthewind8620 I just don't think it has the audience and for an MMO to succeed these days it would have to be stellar. Plus supposedly the MMO isn't cancelled with new info, so that's two Horizon online games.
PlayStation hardware sales are down by double digits. Their first party high fidelity narrative titles are so expensive to develop, that profits are insufficient despite their market position, and they can’t afford to expand their stable of studios like MS. Therefore a focus on GAAS is understandable, but the problem then becomes a matter of equally expensive gambles. It seems like the abject failure of Concord may have resulted in panic.
The problem with Banjo Kazooie is what happened to RARE. When XBOX bought them the Stamper brothers left, then quite a few more devs left to form Free Radical Design (Timesplitters) then when Don Mattrick had them work on Kinect stuff the rest of the old team left to form Playtonic (Yooka-Laylee). Its only just recently that XBOX has had the teams and support to make a new or remake a Banjo game. Personally I would let Playtonic make it as they are a core group that is a lot of talent from the N64 days.
I’m thinking now that Sony are no longer give a shit 💩 about their subscribers they don’t care about the fans they don’t care about single player games so I think I’ll just use my Xbox more.
The real problem with PS is despite “ selling “ 60 million PS5’s the attach rate for 1st party games is crap. It’s always been like that. Can’t justify the development costs when attach rates are sooo low.
Yeah, a lot of people don’t realise that a good chunk of PS5 user base play 1st party Xbox games like COD and/or 3rd party titles more than any PS 1st party title. PS 1st party titles are releasing on PC sooner than ever before cause the sales on PS5 isn’t enough.
THIS IS HILARIOUS!!! I got my popcorn! All this time Sony fanboys have been screaming ''XBOX IS DEAD''! Every week. Now Sony is canceling every game while Xbox is lining up tons of new releases. Like McDonald's...I'M LOVIN IT BABY!!!
Lol yall keep having all these feeling but not realize the fact Shuhei Yoshida told us the game cost will go up or they need to find another source e of revenue.
They don't need to be lmao, no games they've released justifies any of the outrageous budgets we keep hearing about. How was Spiderman 2 double the cost of the 1st and it lacked in nearly every aspect from the 1st game on PS4?!?! There's no explanation other than the higher ups are incompetent or they found a way to take a cut home
A record exec would never ask a Rap artist to release a Classical album. Some gaming execs just think a video game is a video game and that’s about as dumb as thinking Mozart and Kendrick Lamar are the same thing.
I doubt they’d sell it, they make enough off third-party content to hold them over for a little bit. I mean they’re really just going through what Xbox went through during the Xbox One generation so I feel the most drastic move they’ll do is go full multiplat like Xbox is doing. But I still think we’re a few years out from that.
@@daRealB-Rex while i think ps will be fine, there is one caveat...sony is not the size of ms so the parent company of ps can't afford to just go buy abk (even though in the early days they did buy psygnosis which, at the time, was one of the bigger publishers in the business)...i think that's why they fought against abk so hard
@@stewarde17 try not to be a fangirl. halo, gears and forza did not flop, they are played more than any sony game ever made. You can still jump on the old ones and find matches no problem. try that with socom, resistance, uncharted or resistance they are all shut down and discontinued.
Okay I don't understand the push for Horizon games. I really REALLY don't. I mean what's so special about it? I mean what does it do different than other third person action RPG's with stealth elements. Other than good graphics. I do not see anything special about it.
And? Many still salute them as say: yes sir Sony, may I have another one. Does not matter which company we talk about. corporations are not your friend. They understand only one language the language of money and finance. So if their revenue and profit margins go down they will have to do something “customer friendly” if things are well they do not care.
Whats with the "could"? Despite what PS fans think, PS is in trouble. Its selling a lot of consoles, but the market isn't growing. Its shrinking. And many of the people buying those consoles don't buy games, don't support the brand. Sony might say they have 70m shipped, but strip out those who are casuals and all those F2P gamers and the millions of consoles which for whatever reason were never switched on and the PS games market shrinks rapidly and substantially. As a result, PS games tend not to meet expectations, targets aren't met and Sony ended up spending a lot of money on projects which had no chance of returning on those investments. Add in poor decisions such as moving to invest in GAAS and mobile long after the boat had sailed, or the idiocy of greenlighting 15 GAAS games at once, and we have today where Sony has few major games in development, no unique hook to sell consoles and has to squander its limited resources on 3rd party games. Now we have XBox selling XBox games on PS....but every sale of an XBox game on PS is one less PS game sold. All of which means less 1st party content for PS at a time when the need for 1st party content is rising as the industry transitions to cloud and sub services. That isn't going to hurt today....but it will devastate PS in 5 years. And PS is running out of time to respond and adapt. It has maybe 2 years left to start. And what we see is Sony actually pulling away from PS.
To make the Devil's advocate, the fans always asking, but most of the 😮times are not paying. For examples only the 3% of ps5 owners bought the remake of Demon Souls the same case is the recent Astro bot.
Love how you cherry pick the small 1st party games, but fail to mention last of us, ghost, god of war, horizon all sold extremely well and that's before they hit PC. 😆
@krisdahlin4386 No you are wrong, Horizon Forbidden West it is the same case, and Spiderman 2 barely made a profit on Ps5. It is a real situation eather you like or not
@Geo4ever-gr not sure where you are getting your info but spiderman 2 was profitable @ 7 million sold. It's now sitting @ 11 million copies and that its before it's PC launch (which happens this month) Not sure how many copies forbidden west has sold, but it was at almost 9 million copies last yr. (Before PC felease) I'm sure its budget wasn't nearly as big as spiderman 2 and they don't have to share any revenue like was the case with Spiderman.
@@Geo4ever-gr lmao you bots keep crying about astro bot. Dude give it up, it won game of the yr and has likely already made its budget back. The game was made by 80 devs in only 3 yrs time.
@@krisdahlin4386 The sales alone do not always show the truth. The profit and the risk they take, thats the two things companies care about. You should listen to the interview of Shuhei Yoshida and you will understand why Sony decided to rake a turn to GAAS territory.
The best approach for live service games is to attach them to something else. Look at all the most popular live service games and most of them have another mode attached. GTA 5, Minecraft, CoD, Fortnite, old Halo etc all started out as a completely different mode (usually singleplayer) but then the online grew due to the popularity of the game. Sony was reported to have 12 in development . One was Fairgames which looked even worse than Concord and the other is Marathon which might be their only chance at success. Cancelling the spiderman live service game is the worst move ever because i heard multiple people upset over its cancellation. I also think the Horizon MMO might have worked. However both of these shouldnt have been standalone they should have been attached to the next game in their franchise because after beating the campaign people usually want more and would try the multiplayer. It is also reduces risk as people will still buy for the singleplayer. Either that or at least release it free to play
Sony put days gone, god of war, horizon onto pc. I wasted money buying a ps5. It’s a paper weight too me. They screwed up big time not investing into a sequel to days gone. I hope they do move forward with horizon. God of war? My guess is it will be taking a break for a while- maybe not? Maybe releasing the some original IP to pc and Xbox would be a smart move given they need money after making stupid investments.
😂 you mean like yotei, marathon and fairgame$ all releasing this yr? Lmao. Add in games that they are publishing like lost soul aside and death stranding 2 and 2025 is going to be a great yr for ps.
@SheepAmongG.O.A.T eh you don't know thst, there is literally zero competition in the heist genre for fairgame$ highly doubt it will blow up like helldivers 2, but it might find some success. Cant rrally predict.what will happen to it since no one has seen any kind of footage of it.
@@SheepAmongG.O.A.T we shall. Not going to judge whether it will sell well, haven't seen the game. This is havens 1st game to boot. Gotta love the incels incessant need to try tear down games. Jumping straight into mmo's seems silly start smaller add some small multiplayer aspect add smaller mmo esc mechanics or make an mmo light first and see how the fans react while also making assets thst can be used later while also helping the devs get necessary experience for it ect, especially when going from single player to mmo
Horizon mmo light sounds kinda cool actually, maybe even something similar to division or something like that still have a good campaign maybe just smaller add co op story missions that can be added over time live service style maybe some simple but decent pvp maybe even extraction style pvp/pve missions or open world sections like division scope def matters here, make it polished from the start and maybe a bit smaller so develop time and cost are down but have a clear road map from the start because live service games often die based off of the ability to update frequently with new content qhole having enough content for player to stay entertained until new content comes out, now the god of war mmo seemed weird to me, maybe like xenoverse style game mightve worked like a make your own character pvp game, idk it's alot different maybe even a survival esc game where you start of as demigod and lol up into something powerful enough to hunt gods 😅
The studio that was working on it, NCSoft, is very experienced at MMOs. They’ve maintained Guild Wars 2 for all this time lol. The problem is Sony keeps trying to push Horizon down everyone’s throats when it’s not a popular game amongst gamers or casuals. Not to mention Hermen Hulst the current co-head of PS was a co-founder of Guerrilla Games who made Horizon so I wouldn’t be surprised if he specifically is constantly pushing for more Horizon content.
@daRealB-Rex even with experience making mmos i still feel like a game going from single player straight to mmo is just a bad move it too different from what ppl expect and want, plus horizon doesn't seem like the best platform for a full on mmo, imo
So Instead of XBOX being the one that is falling and dying, it is now PS and PS5 falling and dying? How did it go from Xbox crashing to PS crashing so fast?
I personally don't have an issue with supporting the Switch 2, now I don't think games like Halo/Forza or Gears (aka live service games) would do particularly well on the Switch since Nintendo fans tend to only buy certain types of games, but i do think games like Banjo would. I also do think Nintendo would allow things like Fire Emblem, never anything like Mario Kart but their secondary stuff I could see them doing. My only hang up would be if MS/Xbox is making a handheld again I think you're hurting yourself on some level unless that handheld is just a steam deck or ROG ally type of device. My issue has always been the PS support because Sony will never reciprocate it. Unless an outside organization like (MLB or maybe Lego) would force them too because they have always, ever since the original PS, wanted to push everyone else out of the market. Sony is cancelling way too much stuff for me to think they aren't having financial issues, but they would rather die than port games like TLOU, God of War or Spider Man over and pay to keep games like FF away. They could dead ass port Detroit become Human, Until Dawn, Infamous and Heavy Rain and it wouldn't hurt them, but they won't because it's such a slippery slope to them. To me on a business level it is a non-starter to give a company like that any of your Major IP because it only benefits your immediate bottom line, but IMO hurts any real growth strategies. It just creates the same issue Satya created on Windows Phone where every other device had MS shit on it, but their phone had almost none of the other stuff. On a side note, the industry needs to stop with these massive budgets and projects way too many of them fail and IMO no game needs to look better than Hellblade 2. Games look good enough and just need to focus on optimization for the next decade or so.
I honestly think If the fanbase was smart they wouldn't support the PS6 at launch because we are literally $500 to $700 dollar test dummies for live service this generation. Sony needs to know that they can't just get away with this crap with the consumer. *Stop Shilling and Wake Up and Demand Better*
LMAO! Pisstation will be spending the next 5-7 years recovering from these failures. Expect to see more PS games on PC, Nintendo and Xbox to make up for these losses lol.
Sony invest money and resources into projects that go nowhere remains me of Ubisoft. I bet that if Sony was a smaller company, we would be talking about the downfall of Sony. I mean 9 projects cancelled, that a lot of developing time wasted.
I'm a big Xbox fan and I'm not going to lie that phantom blade or phantom zero whatever it's called looks good I wish it was coming two Xbox I mean that game looks really fun I'm not a PlayStation fan but I can give praise when it's due that game looks good you have to give credit where credit is due I'm not saying I want a PlayStation but I'm giving credit where credit is dude That's what you have to do in my opinion looks freaking amazing and fun
for me if a game is not on Steam its not on PC and am a PC gamer but am pissed that they canceled that Horizon MMO cause it could have been a good game and now Hermant Hulst and the other clow should pull their hands out of their back parts and esp Hulst and do something cause we PC users do nto care so much but its sad for PS users and i bet that now they are pissed like me cause now Horizon 3 will prop come for the PS6 and recently i heard ppl saying that there will be a PS Showcase in Feb but what will they show us?
i own all the systems...we've watched sony go through a rough patch wih the wii-u, xbox trying to figure out who they are and what they want to be and sony with the ps3...these things go in cycles...with the economy as it is, people are going to have less to spend on entertainment as necessities have gone up pretty drastically
Sure things are cyclic, but the C level people are getting their salaries to be able to react beforehand or on time, if they do it too late well there will be loses. (This is a huge simplification) So with what you wrote about economy this is not something that change all of a sudden in the last 2 weeks. And I’m just an average gamer but to me it seems that what they should do is to invest in smaller (AA), cheaper projects which takes less time as at the same time are less of a risk. It also seems it is not only me who thinks so as Shawn Layden also stated that current blockbuster budget games are not sustainable. We will see how things will go, one thing is certain the change is coming we already see it happening (multiplatform strategy), which way it will go and how it end? Only time will tell.
LoL the Ori creator wants to do a new Banjo game? Well too bad he has already burned all of his bridges over at Xbox. Highly doubt that will ever happen, at least with him at the helm.
As a Xbox gamer I don't have a problem with them putting games on other platforms I would like hello gears in Fort Jackson to stay away from PlayStation but other than that I don't really care
PlayStation has NO more Major first party Games until PS6. Well that was a short generation. Hopefully Xbox can help them with some cross platform games.
@@daRealB-Rexno it is not. But let’s speculate a bit. Valve might do a pc-console (more powerful stationary equivalent of deck) with not locked down OS. MS might go the route of more open hardware/software allowing installation of 3 party launchers. If the above happens I would say Sony might be in a tough spot.
ArrogantStation continues to get worse business wis. Sony needs to get their shit together and focus on single-player games. Stop pissing your longtime fans with the idea of live-service nonsense. Helldivers 2 was a massive hit, but adding a live-service to games like God Of War and Horizon MMO is a terrible idea. This generation continues to get strained. I hate to say this, but the PS5 is one of the most overrated console of the last 30 years. I stopped caring about PS Plus because of the ridiculous price changes, the lack of adding PS Classics into a minimum, and the monthly offerings suck. I switched to Game Pass Ultimate and they deliver great monthly games before they leave and great deals at a discounted price if you are current member of Game Pass Core. That’s what Sony needs to change their PS Plus model and go back the way they were. They need to get rid of Extra and Premium tiers until the next PS6 arrives in the future.
Jay stop with your fake outrage over Sony cancelling these live service games. Even with all their cancellations and time wasted, they are still coming out on top over Xbox by a long short when it comes to the quantity and quality of games they have released. Even with last year being a slow year, 5 out of the best games in 2024 were exclusive to Playstation (Astrobot, FF Rebirth, Black Myth Wukong, Silent Hill 2, and Helldivers 2). And worse the best game to come out on Xbox in years, Indiana Jones, is coming out on Playstation in a few months. If there's anything you should be upset about it's that Xbox with no focus on Live Service games and basically zero cancellations is still delivering less games than Playstation and the games they even are delivering are almost all going multiplatform....that's what you would be upset about if you're being objective and rational.
funny enough i cant remember the last time i used my xbox lol aside from gamepass exclusives its just not worth using. Jaywood is a crybaby most of the time for the sake of making his videos so dont get lost in his hype. i think its great playstation is realizing the live service model is a bad idea and pivoting. What makes playstation so great is the exclusives they hold and single player experiences they have brought forward. They finally make a shift and this dude wants to whine about what they did before instead of what they are trying to do now
I'm pretty sure the first game was the 3rd best selling ps4 game behind Spiderman and God of War and above TLOU 2 so it makes sense why they are pushing it more. However the problem is that the second game didn't sell nearly as much as the first despite costing more to make
To be honest, I can’t remember the last time I powered on my ps5, it’s been all Xbox when at home and switch when on the move.

Anyone else not even bother getting into the PS5 era yet?

They lost at least 4 billion if you include Bungie, who did absolutely nothing. Sony bought them in a panic after the zenimax acquisition. I feel bad for insomniac who were bought for about 300 million and they held up Sony for the last two generations.

I love what Sony are doing, the more they do it the more they need to release on PC.
release what on PC? 90% of their games are on PC apart from GT/Astrobot and Demon Souls cause Stellar Blade is 3rd party, the china projects are comming to PC day one regardless/Square Enix is done with Sony/Pearl Abyss rejected them
@christonchev9762 90% of their games are on fffitgirlllll that's my number 1 store I just want pc day & date & I'll eat better.

Yeah....The "cancel culture" at Sony is second to none 😂😂
They'll still blame Microsoft for it.
Blame PlayStation’s new “CEO” who is a Jim Ryan scapegoat.
How aboyt we blame Microsoft Xbox fir sonys failures since they themselfs brought uo half the industry n publishers if they didn't sing would be fine
@stewarde17 You could not be any more wrong. Sony's blunders with their live service initiative is going to have a massive impact for years to come.
@@Donald_Allan nope as the live service game were a additive not replacement and cancellation are a common practice as yoshida himself said in his last interview that people would been shock how many was cancelled during the ps3 era.

Ten games being cancelled and Concord being killed is publisher killing. If you want to know how Ubisoft got into the position it currently is, just look at what PlayStation is doing.
The fact they themselves have said they need to course correct speaks volumes.
@stewarde17 It's going to have an impact on Sony's first party output for years to come and no amount of sugar coating is going to change that.
I'm sure the plan was assuming if they made 12, ~3 would be successful. Too bad it ended up zero so far.
@@ctfire I was mainly referencing the service games since I think it was Jim Ryan that said they were working on 12.
Sony isn't doing well in their movie division either. There is something wrong company wide
Sony lost the plot

Disappointed on top of disappointed in Sony because Horizon was the only one of these live service games that seemed perfect as an MMO and had a studio in NCSoft with real experience making successful MMOs. SMH
It would not have done well. The 2nd Horizon game fell off the radar in like 2 weeks.

So when are we getting nintendo games on xbox.
At this point just buy an xbox playstation is dieing looks like
I am considering to sell my ps5, I have an amazing pc, so I can play smoother and better (and cheaper) there

@Geo4ever-gr not sure where you are getting your info but spiderman 2 was profitable @ 7 million sold. It's now sitting @ 11 million copies and that its before it's PC launch (which happens this month)
Not sure how many copies forbidden west has sold, but it was at almost 9 million copies last yr.
Sony's big plan is to hold off all new games for the PlayStation 6 console. They feel that the PS5 console war is over so they are moving on
What this means is that Playstation has no games for the rest of this gen. Just third party games and remasters.
Moon Studio is not great for Xbox. People forget that there was a problem that broke relations with Xbox.
As a Nintendo Fan, just wait for a while, maybe sony has a new plan or maybe wants to wait for new PSP.

Sony put days gone, god of war, horizon onto pc. I wasted money buying a ps5. It’s a paper weight too me. They screwed up big time not investing into a sequel to days gone.

No interest in banjo whatsoever
I think my Ps5 is 46 firmwares behind 😂
Gotta make up the money spent buying shares in kodikawa
I honestly think If the fanbase was smart they wouldn't support the PS6 at launch because we are literally $500 to $700 dollar test dummies for live service this generation. Sony needs to know that they can't just get away with this crap with the consumer. *Stop Shilling and Wake Up and Demand Better*

i own all the systems...we've watched sony go through a rough patch wih the wii-u, xbox trying to figure out who they are and what they want to be and sony with the ps3...these things go in cycles...with the economy as it is, people are going to have less to spend on entertainment as necessities have gone up pretty drastically
Sure things are cyclic, but the C level people are getting their salaries to be able to react beforehand or on time, if they do it too late well there will be loses. (This is a huge simplification)
So with what you wrote about economy this is not something that change all of a sudden in the last 2 weeks.
Itll be crazy that after so many years ps actually bring the console to the ground and that xbox rises

Check your sources Jay they haven’t cancelled Horizon and Project H is not Horizon
PlayStation has NO more Major first party Games until PS6. Well that was a short generation. Hopefully Xbox can help them with some cross platform games.
Sony is going multi platform That's why they got rid of him Cause he was against it!!!!! 😎
This would have been the best time to attack playstation, start buying timed exclusives while playstation is canceling games
Just started playing god of war ragnarock only because they added it to extra otherwise I play my Xbox the most
Sony thinks we want live service trash what a joke
Ps gamers be like "it was announced so it doesn't count" 😂
I know playstation messed up atleast there are canceling Many live services....which is a good thing
The Last of Us mp would have made them so much money. What are they doing?
they don't know. It's hilarious. They should bring back Jack Trenton. Ps3 had alot of good games and multiplayer. These new guys suck.
I think the EA thing is probably bad wording...
I was LMAO, hearing about Sony PlayStation problems😂
All those single play Pony exclusives are on Steam and this summer Steam is coming to Xbox. Now what you got to say pony boy?
Steam is not coming to Xbox this summer.
Maybe MSFT should buy Sony gaming? XD
But remember according to the gaming media. Xbox is the one that is in trouble and dead
most games are just boring, this is where nintendo shines
funny enough i cant remember the last time i used my xbox lol aside from gamepass exclusives its just not worth using. Jaywood is a crybaby most of the time for the sake of making his videos so dont get lost in his hype. i think its great playstation is realizing the live service model is a bad idea and pivoting. What makes playstation so great is the exclusives they hold and single player experiences they have brought forward. They finally make a shift and this dude wants to whine about what they did before instead of what they are trying to do now
I don’t understand why Sony is so bought into horizon. Doesn’t seem like it sells like last of us
Hermen Hulst was the co-founder of Guerrilla. My theory is he’s pushing hard for it.
I'm pretty sure the first game was the 3rd best selling ps4 game behind Spiderman and God of War and above TLOU 2 so it makes sense why they are pushing it more. However the problem is that the second game didn't sell nearly as much as the first despite costing more to make
