As a 29 year employee at HD, I am disgusted with our leadership. Our last contract gave us no raise, no increase in our retirement, no increase in health coverage and yet HD has millions to throw at LGBT and DEI nonsense! As soon as I am eligible I will be retiring, selling my Harley and riding something that has America first values! FHD!
Its the same problem with a lot of publicly traded companies. Their REAL customer is institutional investors like BlackRock, State Street, and Vanguard. Executive management does not care about people who buy HD's products.

As an Asian girl, I have an absolute dream to have my own HD one day to honor my grandpa who's into it. He dreamt of having one but he died of cardiac arrest. @@asdfbeauYou are correct. A friend inherited a 2015 Street 500 a couple of years ago. It had been sitting for a while. It is not possible to jump start the bike or hook up a battery charger. You have to disconnect a bunch of wiring to get at the battery. The whole thing is such a pain in the ass that none of us have bothered to get the thing running yet. It's still sitting in my garage. This has to be one of the most user unfriendly features on any vehicle ever. This is a garbage company. I would never do business with them.

A friend of mine was an outlaw biker for over 30 years and is now a Christian rider, he has 22 Harleys spanning from the 40s to modern. His daughter is named Harley. For the 1st time in his life, he is considering selling his bikes. He is one of the most dedicated riders I've ever known. I'm related to 1%ers who are considering switching to Indian. If you're not in the world, you don't understand just how deep this cuts. We love our HD's more than our women. So if we're ready to sever ties, the s×it has hit the fan. Actually, the bikes are very reliable. It's that Harley knows this and now has asked dealerships not to work on any bike that is over ten years old. And they quit making parts for older bikes.

There was a saying back in the 80s about the quality of Harleys. Buy the best, and walk like the rest. Harley Davidson quality hasn't been worth cr@p since the early 70s. That when they started going downhill, and never came back. AMF era was the start of their downfall.

The problem with most public companies is the fortune they waste on stupid CEO'S. Didn't Zeitz get over 40 million in total compensation. How the hell is that helping shareholders?
So, I bought leather boots in a Harley store last year. The cost was over $200. It is the double-zipper model. The left side zipper got detached from the leather on the left boot after about 9 months of use. This is how the store handled it: 1. They sent the boots to HD factory for inspection. 2. Two or three weeks later they offered me options: - Get $100 store credit and boots destroyed. - Get the boots back to have them fixed somewhere else. Take a wild guess whether or not I will ever buy anything in a Harley store ever again. Especially after I learned that they went woke.

I was about to have Harley do a 10k Service, new tires & Installation and Install Brake Pads all around on my Harley I bought used from a used local bike dealer. But instead I searched around and found a local mechanic with a beautiful shop at his home in middle of boonies. He's awesome and has been working on Harleys for 53 years!! His hourly rate is $70 vs Harleys $120 and he got me same exact tires for $160 cheaper + an $80 rebate I'm getting as a gift card in mail from Michelin!! He saved me $630 TOTAL on parts and labor!!! Plus, Harley got no business from me and lost my money!! GO WOKE GO BROKE!! EDIT: I was actually wrong on the amount I was saved!! -Harleys quote was $1,635 for Michelin Scorcher 31 Tire Set & Installation, 10k Service & Brake Pad Installation Front & Rear. -Custom Cycles Quote For Exact Same Tires & Services was $986-$80 Rebate = $906 TOTAL SAVINGS = $729
@@motorhead1884 I don't have the equipment necessary to change tires nor do most people and since he was taking my wheels off anyway, it made sense to slide in new brake pads. I know how to do oil change and primary oil change but I don't know how to change brake fluids and bleed brakes etc. Mainly I don't have the time nor the mental capacity right now to organize and do all this work and to me, paying the labor costs to not have to do any of it is well worth it. I work 5pm-5am Sunday-Friday and have a 2.5 hour round trip commute so from 3:45pm to 6:15am im gone working and the 1 day off I do have, I have too many errands and household chores to do and catch up on to find time. I would lose more money taking a day off to do it. So, to save myself all the hassle and time is good value to me.
I own two Harleys and called corporate to ask if they really stand behind the CEO. I waited on hold for 40 minutes for customer service to take my call. The representative I talked to told me he couldn't comment on this situation.

I joined eagle rider a year ago for the sole purpose of test riding Harleys to figure out what my next Harley purchase will be. Short test rides are useless. Everyone is focused on the CEO but he answers to a board of directors who is complicit with his actions. One of my friends volunteered to work at an outdoor charity event that featured family-themed competition events (volleyball, swimming, bag-races -the works. All was going well until he noticed some other workers setting up a refreshment booth. They were putting up a Bud lite sign. Now, my friend found it a bit weird that there was going to be alcohol at a "family" event, but, whatever. However, before the booth opened, several of the charity organizers approached and shuttered it. It wasn't until much later that he found out that the organizers were pissed as hell at one of the other organizers for attempting to use "cheap" Bud Lite when he had been specifically instructed to get other, non-Anheuser-Busch beer. The beer stand didn't open until the next day. He never found out if the one organizer was simply trying to save money for the event or was planning on pocketing the difference. But thank goodness the other organizers realized what a faux pas it would have been to use Bud Lite. It goes to show that, once tainted, it really is hard for a brand to get their paying customers back.

@@asdfbeauYou are correct. A friend inherited a 2015 Street 500 a couple of years ago. It had been sitting for a while. It is not possible to jump start the bike or hook up a battery charger. You have to disconnect a bunch of wiring to get at the battery. The whole thing is such a pain in the ass that none of us have bothered to get the thing running yet. It's still sitting in my garage.

Actually, the bikes are very reliable. It's that Harley knows this and now has asked dealerships not to work on any bike that is over ten years old. And they quit making parts for older bikes.

I bought leather boots in a Harley store last year. The cost was over $200. It is the double-zipper model. The left side zipper got detached from the leather on the left boot after about 9 months of use. This is how the store handled it:
1. They sent the boots to HD factory for inspection.
2. Two or three weeks later they offered me options:
- Get $100 store credit and boots destroyed.
- Get the boots back to have them fixed somewhere else.
Take a wild guess whether or not I will ever buy anything in a Harley store ever again. Especially after I learned that they went woke.
This blows my mind! I can't understand why companies like HD, John Deere, and Tractor Supply would go WOKE! Who in the heck do they think buys their products? I hope the HD CEO gets fired immediately!!

I was about to have Harley do a 10k Service, new tires & Installation and Install Brake Pads all around on my Harley I bought used from a used local bike dealer. But instead I searched around and found a local mechanic with a beautiful shop at his home in middle of boonies. He's awesome and has been working on Harleys for 53 years!! His hourly rate is $70 vs Harleys $120 and he got me same exact tires for $160 cheaper + an $80 rebate I'm getting as a gift card in mail from Michelin!! He saved me $630 TOTAL on parts and labor!!! Plus, Harley got no business from me and lost my money!! GO WOKE GO BROKE!!

@@motorhead1884 I don't have the equipment necessary to change tires nor do most people and since he was taking my wheels off anyway, it made sense to slide in new brake pads. I know how to do oil change and primary oil change but I don't know how to change brake fluids and bleed brakes etc. Mainly I don't have the time nor the mental capacity right now to organize and do all this work and to me, paying the labor costs to not have to do any of it is well worth it. I work 5pm-5am Sunday-Friday and have a 2.5 hour round trip commute so from 3:45pm to 6:15am im gone working and the 1 day off I do have, I have too many errands and household chores to do and catch up on to find time. I would lose more money taking a day off to do it. So, to save myself all the hassle and time is good value to me.

I own two Harleys and called corporate to ask if they really stand behind the CEO. I waited on hold for 40 minutes for customer service to take my call. The representative I talked to told me he couldn't comment on this situation.
Black Rock is a majority stock holder now. This has been going on since covid. The FED was threatening to not allow them to put out a new "vehicle" because the EPA changed emissions laws which incudes DEI for some reason. They have to play ball or they won't be allowed to sell motorcycles. They are literally being held hostage.

I joined eagle rider a year ago for the sole purpose of test riding Harleys to figure out what my next Harley purchase will be. Short test rides are useless. Everyone is focused on the CEO but he answers to a board of directors who is complicit with his actions. Without a change of CEO and a major shift on the BoD, I’ll be looking at Indian or a European bike. This is disgusting.

One of my friends volunteered to work at an outdoor charity event that featured family-themed competition events (volleyball, swimming, bag-races -the works. All was going well until he noticed some other workers setting up a refreshment booth. They were putting up a Bud lite sign. Now, my friend found it a bit weird that there was going to be alcohol at a "family" event, but, whatever. However, before the booth opened, several of the charity organizers approached and shuttered it. It wasn't until much later that he found out that the organizers were pissed as hell at one of the other organizers for attempting to use "cheap" Bud Lite when he had been specifically instructed to get other, non-Anheuser-Busch beer. The beer stand didn't open until the next day. He never found out if the one organizer was simply trying to save money for the event or was planning on pocketing the difference. But thank goodness the other organizers realized what a faux pas it would have been to use Bud Lite. It goes to show that, once tainted, it really is hard for a brand to get their paying customers back.
