Wait until you discover funk!!! This man is the missing link between soul and dance music! Great reaction bro!!!
Oh yes! Some Sly & The Family Stone and Parliament. #funk
The Man, The Myth, The Legend, The One and Only, The King of Soul James Brown ....as always you pick great tunes and your reactions are by far the best on the internet cant wait to hear and watch the next one
James Brown is called the Godfather of Soul, and the hardest working man in show business.
FYI - James Brown and Aretha Franklin duet on the song Gimme Your Love, which is the lead track on Aretha's 1989 album Through the Storm, and it also appeared on James Brown's album Soul Session Live.
👍 As I remember James Brown had the ability to make even AM radio sounds good.
“Don’t end!”
🤣👏🏾💯
Love some James Brown 😎
His 70s funk sound is awesome,Cold Sweat and Hotpants are funktastic 🕺
Bobby Womack “ if you think your lonely now”
I’ve just started to listen to your reaction, but before I finish it, let me give you some background on the song. His first song was PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE in 1956. It went up to number six on the R&B chart and did not chart on the Billboard top hundred pop chart. He tried for two years for a follow up and they all basically bombed, over 12 other songs. He was basically given an ultimatum by Syd Nathan, the president of King Records. Your next song has to be a hit or we’re letting you go. I’ve heard different variations of the story but that’s basically what it was. TRY ME was a monster hit in the black community. It went up to number one for a few weeks on the R&B chart and even made it to the pop top 100 to number 48. He started to evolve in the early 60s and was creating funk slowly. But hopefully you’ll get into some of those later records that laid the foundation of funk. Now let me go listen to your whole reaction.
My sister and I saw James Browm at the hollywood bowl. Never sat down during the entire consert. Not only did he work hell out of his band. Mr.Brown wore the entire audience out. We danced out of shoes ruined or stockins. Our hair was a total mess. Talk about dancing into total madness. One of the best concert in my life.
You took me back down memory lane.Thank You! 😊🎉❤
Im 42 so I couldn't expirence that but I couldn't even imagine what one his shows were like back then
The 50's into the 70s was the greatest era for music. We had so many different styles to listen and dance to.
You're probably thinking of "I Feel Good." Gotta do "Cold Sweat" and "Sex Machine!"
James Brown! Such fun! I love this musical discovery! 💜💜💜 Another hilarious intro! Let's go!!!! My mum used to play him and The Supreme's all the time! As they used to say, "play it again Sam" , accept it's now "play it again Hector". 😊😊😊
Another fabulous tune from that era you really need to check out is The Flamingos "I Only Have Eyes for You".
James Brown's catalog will make your head spin.
Great Reaction! I'm also learning that my music knowledge pool is shallow. Thanks for digging it a little deeper.
Check out the duet of James Brown and Luciano Pavarotti "It's Man's World ". Very touching.
"It's a Man's World," James Brown
Great reaction....a favorite of mine from the 60s
James Brown. PAPA'S GOT A BRAND NEW BAG. GOOD FOOT,
IT’S A MAN’S MAN’S MAN’S WORLD. That’s James Brown’s big hit from 1966, it went to number one on the soul charts in number seven on the pop charts. Incidentally, that mean you’re talking about is taking from a fantastic life performance of that song from 1981. Just Google James Brown it’s a man’s world live 1981 Jazz Festival and it will come up. I highly recommend that you react to that one. And then after that, maybe get into some of his more funky songs.
LOVE James Brown....fun gift I got once from my kid. It's a little button you push that says "Feel Good" on it....when you hit it, James Brown "I Got You" plays. You'd LOVE that song. Yes It's Man's Man's World is one of his songs.
Love James Brown Hector!!
This song makes me think of Little Anthony & The Imperials GOING OUT OF MY HEAD@
James Brown is one of the kings. Try me was one of the first oldies I heard. Can I request "I Want Love" by Brenton Woods? I hope you like it.
Listen & watch James Brown LIVE 🥰🔥 Please,Please,Please / This Is A Man’s Man’s World/ will show you his showmanship & how the fans went wild & James Brown & The JB’s really put on a show. James really liked to dress up, he wore capes which he would fling when he got deep into his songs & he would fall to his knees so many times - you would think his knees would be shot !! RIP to The Godfather of Soul 💜💥☮️🔥
Sooo smooth with it.
Always a feel for music, get it brother
Mark…..remember @chicken soup grandma”? Anyway, I have a special request. A deeply powerful anti-war song…written by Bob Dylan and covered live by Eddie Veddar of Pearl Jam as a tribute to Dylan. Incredibly powerful and moving. Called Masters of War…30th Anniversary performance. Thanks
I FEEL GOOD! NA NA NA NA na! 🤣🤣✌️❤️🔥🎶🧠☕️
I never knew early James Brown sounded like early Bob Marley!
What up brainsqueeze! You on point with this one! You got to do james brown "payback" next
Great reaction! Give "I feel good" a spin
Bro these songs are cleansing our souls but you need some Ritchie Valens in your life! If you ever start doing movie reactions… please please add La Bamba to that list. As a matter of fact, don’t wait that long go watch it when you have some down time and start educating yourself about “The day music died” :)
Awesome song 🎶 by the ever so great James brown! First songs I’ve ever heard was “I feel Good and “This is a Man’s World”. Thanks so much for sharing g your reaction and it’s a like and thumbs up.😄👍#jamesbrown
Jackie then James...gotta add some Smokey!
THis is beautiful music. To go in the completely other direction--did you try 'Colter Wall's the Devil Wears a Suit and Tie. Where Etta James and James Brown are smooth, amazing beauty....Colter is all grit and story telling.
Said it before, and I'll say it again, my good man. U need to watch the movie "The Blues Brothers." James makes an appearance, as well as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker...an All-star cast...and absolute hilarity and good music for more than 2 hrs. We're on a mission from God.
Reminds me of "Beauty School Dropout" from Grease! lol
Nice reaction. You should add Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody to your list.
Great reaction, Mark! Actually, I have never heard this song before, but it is definitely classic JB. I'm more familiar with his funkier / rocking stuff, but that voice is unmistakable.
You need to listen to funky James! Try Out Of Sight, Papa' Got A Brand New Bag, Make It Funky, Cold Sweat, Lickin' Stick, Mother Popcorn, I Don't Want Nobody To Give Me Nothin', Sex Machine, The Big Payback, Soul Power, etc. Too many to list!
Please react to a live video of the Righteous Brothers. This song meant a lot to those serving during the Vietnam War. Righteous Brothers -- Unchained Melody (Live, 1965) (Picture and Sound Restored)
Try James Brown - Can you see the light, from the Blues Brothers movie.
Gotta see him dance.
Great choice great reaction man. You gotta listen to "dont let it happen to me" and "just wont do right" by james brown and since you like this one i recommend "there is something on your mind" by big jay mcneely.
Try “Mind Power” and get messed up and fixed at the same time.
🔥🔥❤️🔥🔥
Try james brown i lost someone and beWillard😌
JB was known for giving penalties to his band members in case they accidentally played wrongly.
🫡👑🙏
